Kicked out onto the street while actively attempting to contact my ride. After paying the cover fee, and in the city for my first time, my friends left to get food without telling me. I was calling them to see where they were, and was kicked onto the street for loitering in the hallway. I was left on the street in an unknown city with no concern for my health or safety despite my attempts to have a civilized conversation with the staff (bouncer).

Best place to go dancing in the East Village. I first went here in 2004 and still divey and reminder of the NYC of yesteryear. The music is 80s and usually on Friday and Saturdays; but they usually have different music in the basement-goth, industrial, dark electro, or live bands. The crowd is always unpretentious and great people watching. I love the Pyramid Club and always go if in the area!

I had plans with my friends for a hardcore dance night and thats what we got when we went there. The atmosphere and decor is what it was ment to be. Its a club, not a 5 star restaurant. I didnt have too much interaction with the bartender but so far she was ok. Over all i came to dance and thats what i got....GREAT music. Up AND downstairs! I felt at home. Cant wait to go back!

Four stars more for nostalgia. Of all the places I grew up in New York city going to- its the Pyramid of all places that is still around. A standard "go to" for Saturday nights- I havent really been a big fan of the basement area since it was redone (looks a bit too much like a doctors office). You always know what to expect here- unpretentious mixed crowd upstairs.

loved it. barely changed in 30 yrs. tune selection not quite as perfectly hip but good enough. didnt see any skinheads or mohawks or dog collars or big army boots.no transvestites on the bar, no hardcore porn on video screens in the downstairs lounge. other than that -- almost completely unchanged. sound system still dynamite. had a blast.

My girlfriend are here right now. Its a friday night (tech. Sat now) and yeah the music is great BUT contrary to other reviews the drinks are not cheap. I think $16 for a red bull & vodka is a little ridiculous. I lived in vegas & a basic well drink like rb&v wasnt this pricey. Also, its dead as dirt here. Such a lousy first impression. :(

Really a great club to go to. They do have a $3 cover charge which is minimal and keep in mind they are a cash only bar. The music was in the 80s and a nice separate dance floor. Overall a great experience and not that costly at all. P.S. They had dancers on the window and inside in a stage when we went in.

If youre into dancing, networking, and great music, this is the place to be! I really find the edginess of this brick cave to be enticing for a fun night out in the Alphabet City. Relatively cheap drinks. Great service. Awesome music. 80s night. Cybertron. Thats all you need to know. Check it out.

LOVED IT!! i spent Halloween 2016 night here and danced on a tabletop for 5 hours straight, GOOD VIBES, FUN CROWD! I LOVED THE MUSIC !! Being an 80s kid, this was such a nice reminder of a beautiful era. And the history of this place, fabulous! Thank you so much, I cant wait to go back. :):)

Went to this bar for my friends 30th birthday party. I have never ever ever encountered such a rude bartender. Apparently he did this to every girl in my group, and only served the guys "if they were cute". (the bartender was ugly himself, not that that really matters). DO NOT GO HERE!

I came here with some friends because we wanted to track down a dance club. Well, yes, technically there was dancing. However the only one dancing was someone dressed like Billy Idol on a platform in the chilly dance floor room, which was empty and filled only with smoke. We left sad.

If you enjoy music so loud you cant think, along with a dance floor too dark to see anything, and a bouncer who wont even let a cup of water outside, then this is your place! Otherwise, stay away... Far away... Actually, dont even go into Manhattan on a Friday night.

Prices are reasonable. This place is not for the faint of heart. There is a grungy homey feeling to the whole place. You can surely get lost in the dark ambiance, good music, and leave with the satisfaction of knowing youve been to a hell of a party.

My friends really like this place, and 80s music, so i gave it a tried on friday and I did not like it. I love 80s music but they only played 3 good songs per hour. The ambience is a bit heavy, we were in a big group so we had fun.

I went to a goth party in the basement and had a good time. The dancing floor is tiny though and there are columns in the center, which makes it hard to pull any dancing moves without smashing other people in the face.

No good. Doesnt even deserve one are. We got kicked out for dancing "inappropriately." Gay bar who doesnt allow grinding with your partner? When you see that big-eyed fatty avoid him at all costs.

Excellent music venue! Staff was super friendly. Convenient bathrooms upstairs and down. Hip hop room upstairs for non edm folk. Lighting was second to none. Overall an amazing night seeing EDX.

Dont pay cover if you enter before 9. Drinks are cheep and if you like 80 music this is the place for you. There are some crazy characters , so go prepare ! I always have a great time !

Meh. $6 cover and a cash only bar. Drinks in little plastic cups like the dentist gives you to rinse. Not exciting.
