Besides the fact that I am from Chicago, Illinois and have never seen any other Movie Complex to be this CLEAN!!! Wow..... When i had visited back in Chicago to see family we ended up going to see a movie and I could not really enjoy myself... I think that Marcus Parkwood had Spoiled Me!! I had to get up and leave as i forgot just how nasty the Seats were, the slimmy floors, and the place so crowded and packed like sardines shoulder to shoulder where as here at Marcus Parkwood Theaters , They have elegant and CLEAN Cinemas! The plain theater seating has good arm, Shoulder and leg room but if you want to spoil yourself or to enjoy a great date night with a special person, pay the extra couple bucks and get the Luxury Seating! The Luxury Seating has it going on! Plenty of room everywhere ! Leg room, haha... you have a recliner that you can have legs up or down. Very comfortable reclined back while watching your show. Dont forget to order your dinner at the resturant! Thats right you can order your food off the menu and can eat it with your beverage while enjoying your movie. Almost just like at home !! The only drawback here at Marcus in my opinoin would be the cost of food however thats pretty much standard anywhere you go. Thats how they make the profits. With all that candy, popcorn and POP I would think that they still have some margin room that can be met to still make a profit and still increase sales by quantity.. Thats business and not my business or concern .. only a wish, lol.... Its still nice to treat one self to a nite of Comfort & Luxury. Eating Dinner that you ordered from the in house restaurant while watching a movie in Luxury.

If youre going to be stuck with a chain theater, Marcus is family owned and pretty darn good. When they took over from CEC the whole place was renovated, restaurant added, and screens expanded. Its now one of the best theaters in Minnesota IMO. Decent beer and pizza from Zaffiros, good seats in the theaters, and service is solid. I hear some whining about prices but its much cheaper than metro theaters elsewhere AND there are always the no-restrictions $5 Tuesday nights (and $5 Thursdays too for students and teachers). Get their app, join the club, and you get a free movie for every $100 you spend, $5 pizzas, and FREE popcorn on certain nights. Thats the best part of all for us-- we can go on $5 Tuesday, bring a cold beer in a coat pocket, and get a free popcorn for each of us: date night for $10. Really, whats not to like? The only other theater we consider going to now is the St. Michael Cinema, which is a unique building with bigger screens and a full bar inside. We go there for destination films (Star Wars, etc.) but go to Marcus at least once a week as well. Protip: people here are complaining about the ticket lines, but I go every week and there are NEVER any lines at the self-service kiosks. Unless you insist on paying cash theres no reason to wait at all. I have never stood in a line at Marcus other than for popcorn.

The outside facility looks nice, but as soon as you drive in you notice many reserved spots for a restaurant that recently became located by the theater, upon which you are towed if not eating at the restaurant. The lines are often long, service time is often poor-fair and delayed, floors are sticky more often than not, and the bathroom is occasionally a mess. Their policies are often unclear and when asking about them, the employees always stated to look them up online, where they do not exist. For example, I went to try and see a R rated movie (Hang Over 3) and was denied service for having an infant with me. He was sleeping and our family planned a time during his usual 2.5 hour nap time. I was told that they do not allow anyone under the age of 6, but their website states admittance permissible for individuals under the age of 17 with an adult (which I looked up beforehand). I was directed to their site after asking where it was listed, and after extensive searching, the only thing listed was admissible under the ages of 17 with adult supervision for R rated movies. We have seen other R rated movies here before and never had an issue. I dread what other families may go through having purchased the tickets online and would doubt them giving a refund, which I base on prior customer experience with them.

Big fail Parkwood. You have a special event where you charge 12.50 for a matinee that you advertise for weeks as being in the luxury suite. Being as its a Humphrey Bogart film and luxury suite I can justify paying that much. Knowing that the fancier theater is smaller, I buy tickets ahead of time to be safe. However when we get there, we find that you moved it to a regular theater. Crappy, but Im told its because there was a lot of interest in the film. Okay...however there were not even 30 people in that theater. Part of a special event is a special theater, and then to act like our concern is completely insignificant (I dont care that you had nothing to do with it and I dont care it came from the district manager and dont mechanically offer me tickets with a glazed look in your eyes, thats not why Im saying something)is really disappointing. I love that youre showing classic films, and i will keep supporting that, just dont take away the "specialness" of the event and act like its not a big deal.

Go on a Tuesday (everybody) or Thursday (if youre a SCSU student) to get your ticket for only 5 dollars. Also, become a "magical movie rewards" member to get discounts on food and points that can be redeemed for giftcards for every movie you go to. Its free and also allows you to buy tickets online without a service fee charge. As for the theater, its mostly pretty clean (as far as movie theaters go) and has a Zaffiros Pizza connected to it if youre looking to get food and an adult beverage before or during your movie. The theater also offers luxury seating for select movies and, though it is already a very good experience, will be remodeled to improve on this experience. There are waiters in these luxury seating theaters from Zaffiros that will serve you prior to the movie starting. Overall, one of the better theaters Ive been to for the price (on Tues and Thurs $5, regularly $10 for adults) and thats a good thing because its pretty much the only theater in the greater St. Cloud area.

Its the closest game in town now that the local theatre closed its doors. Granted, their prices are higher than what we paid in our small town but its clean and fairly quiet if you arent going on a blockbuster weekend. They have a great selection of gut-buster treats that you can unload your pocket book on or you can go to the restaurant thats attached to the theater before the show or I guess even order and bring the food with you if you feel the need to feed. Its a clean establishment with discounts on Tuesday and matinee times so you can go for cheap if youre being thrifty. I dont know what their rules are about bringing in outside treats or beverages so bring at your own risk. If you do, at least do it funny like the fillable shirt that you can fill up and has a secret straw or something maybe two straws for your friend to partake...and and you can always say things like I dont have a six pack I have a 24 pack. Yeah
