Having visited this place 2 years ago with VIP table service and reviewed, giving it a four as the service and music was ok. Not sure what happened to this place within these past 2 years. I booked a private table with Bday Package (including a bottle of Vodka, Champagne and balloons). I emailed Brian (I assume co-owner) and asked for a secluded area away from the rest of the crowd and dance floor. Also, I preselected liquor options. We showed up (a group of 6) around 11:30 pm, and this place was absolutely dead. The night was so unorganised, we waited about 20 minutes before someone pointed us in the direction of the table. The waitress seated us right by the dance floor (Brian promised to seat us away from the dance floor...ok, whatever)! She started offering some cocktails, I was super confused because I already preselected everything in advance. She said she will ask owner and will be back... She was back in like 20 minutes and said that my preselected liquor option will be around $400 and that I should think about it. Like seriously?!!??? I said OK, lets go with cheaper vodka, she said she will double check with owner and will be back....again, 20 minutes later, she showed up saying that they dont have any cheaper vodka and I should go with my preselected option! Why the f.. would you waste my 40 minutes!!! GRRRRR! I dont even know how she works here not knowing anything! The service was really bad, the waitress didnt even know what the occasion was. She showed up maybe like twice to see if we are ok. We didnt get even any water! I never seen my bday balloons (not like I really wanted my balloons :) but why would you describe it as a Bday package deal!) I ended up paying $400 for just a bottle of vodka and champagne and horrible service. And finally, DJ just ruined the rest of the evening! I have never seen worst DJ ever (I have been to many clubs, including European clubs). The music was absolutely inconsistent and super lame. No wonder, no one was dancing! Never again!! I have emailed Brian since to complain and their customer service is applauding. They let the place down, my return visit since last time has seen such a decline, I am surprised the place is still open.. The place deserves to go bankrupt, absolutely shocking shambles of a joint. I for one will never be returning, and I will be telling anyone who cares to listen to avoid!!

I reserved a VIP area for a celebration last weekend and everyone had a GREAT time! Even my friends who are known for bailing out early stayed til bar close. We had plenty of room for the 20 people in our party. We chose bottle service, which initially sounds freakishly expensive but paid off in the long run as the bill for all of us together (gratuity included) was $330. Compare that to 20 people drinking from the bar and that would have been only two drinks per person and I can assure you we drank more than that. Plus our waitress took great care of us, checking in and bringing us anything we needed. She also kept our DDs happy :-) which is always important. AND the $150 booth fee and $8/person cover charges were waived with bottle service, so we saved $$ there too. Music was great, three different areas to dance and live percussion. The Cathedral had the best music in my opinion, a lot of Latin flavor. Lots of fake smoke pumped into the main area made for some hazy pictures and a sore throat the next day, though. Two VERY minor complaints: 1) The VIP section didnt open until nearly 11pm and most of my people were there by 10pm, so our waitress had to pick up all our bottle service stuff and move it in. If Im paying that much for VIP Id like to have access to it sooner, even if the general public isnt in yet (thats what VIP is for, right?). 2) Girl at the door charged one of my girls cover, even though it was supposed to be waived. When I went to speak with her she took an attitude with me right away before checking with the guy at the door and then grudgingly giving my girl her $8 back (in ones, I might add). All in all a FABULOUS night out! I would definitely do The Lounge again.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AT A NIGHT CLUB!!!! My cousin brought me here I am visiting from Atlanta. The bottle service and bartenders were nice and I appreciated the jacket check, however after purchasing a $200 bottle of Remy I was asked to leave for having my feet on the run down 20 year old couch probably bought at a second hand shop. Like seriously?? This is not a high class place at all to care about where my feet are placed, and if I was asked politely I would have had kindly removed my feet. The security were just so rude!! This has to be the only job they have had with some authority because they were EXTREMELY aggressive for no reason at all!! I was speaking to them respectively, I do not understand why they were treating someone spending money like this. They even attempted to put their hands on me!!! I asked for the owner or a manager and they told me the rude bald head security that originally yelled at me was the manager, which by his appearance and attitude, I highly doubt. I would NOT recommend my worst enemy to go here!! Who treats their customers like that, especially when they are the only people in the place that bought a bottle??! If you value yourself, go less than 200 feet next door to Brothers its a clean bar with proper customer service and they turned this awful night at Rouge to a better experience!!

I seriously always have such a great time here. Im normally a NE mpls person (and anti-downtown, sorry) but if Im hopping over the river Im stopping here. The female bartenders and hosts are actually NICE to women which is a huge change from most places. I havent ventured to that far back room but the front two rooms are fun because if you actually want to sit and just people watch you can. I dont have idiots bumping into my drinks and my girlfriends can all dance without being groped. Love it. Thanks for having super nice staff.

I went to the Rouge for Thursday Latino Night, because there was a salsa competition that someone I knew was involved in. The person who organized the competition, who I believe to also be the owner of the Rouge, was extremely rude to the people that were involved in the competition. When he was asked questions, he pushed people around and shouted at them. The bar tenders were nice, the DJ was decent, but I would not recommend this place to anyone due to that mans behavior.

Stopped in for Latin night, expecting some salsa, merengue and bachata. Their entire front room was dedicated to Norteño, which is great if thats your thing. And then another room in the back was for hip-hop. The curtains werent pulled, so the music was blaring from room to room. Defeaning cacacophy. Bathrooms were ick.

Heh, Id never go to one of these places. Im sure the people there are way too cool for me. I dont own a double-collared or silk shirt. The joke, however, is on them. Keep pumping money into Hennepin County with your overpriced hobby!
