If I could do no stars I would. When me and my fiance came into the Kato for our reception the night of wedding he gave us a bill for over $2000 even though the owner had told us we were paid off a month in advance. He added things to our bill that we had specifically told him we didnt want but he added to our reception anyway. Then when dinner time came the meat they served was raw... and I dont mean just undercooked. It looked like they had took it straight from the refrigerator and put it right on a plate to serve to my guests. I cant even tell you how many people we had tell us or family members that they had gotten sick that night for the food. Even after all this he refused to take anything off the bill. If it wasnt for our DJ my wedding night would have ended up in tears. Then the next month my younger brother had his senior prom there and him and other students got sick because the food was again not cooked. I would never recommend this place for any event!!!

My wife and I had our wedding reception at the Kato Ballroom this summer and many of our guests said it was the best reception they had ever been too. We had to do all the planning from 8 hours away and Larry was extremely accommodating to our schedule when we were back in the area. We decided upon the buffet option for the meal and it was delicious, Larry had 2 buffet lines set up so our guests could get their food quickly and efficiently. The large area in the ballroom was priceless, nobody was crowded at all-plenty of room to move around, unlike a reception at a hotel or country club. Larry kept checking on us throughout the evening to make sure we were happy with everything. If you are getting married, this is the only place I would have your reception at!!

My daughter had her reception and dance at the Kato Ballroom this past weekend. We were very happy with everything. The entire evening moved seamlessly while Larry, Janet, Angie, and the rest of the staff took care of everything. The food was served quickly and was just what we hoped for. Before I knew it, the meal was cleaned up, the backdrop and head tables moved, and the dancing began. We were very impressed with the flexibility we were given while decorating and the professionalism during the entire event. What a great place to have a celebration!

We had our wedding reception at The Kato Ballroom 2 weeks ago and I was so pleased with everything Larry, Janet, and their security staff did for us. They were their the whole night and made sure everything was done exactly how we wanted it to be. They are a great staff to work with and I would recommend The Kato Ballroom to anyone looking for a place to have their reception.

Neat old building but not worth it. Dont let this place ruin your special night. The managers are inconsiderate and rude, to us, our family and friends. Tried tricking us into paying more than we owed. They took our damage deposit and cashed it because they wanted a bigger tip! Food was decent, but not enough to make it worth it. Avoid this place.

Our daughter had her wedding reception there last weekend. Everything was wonderful. The owners and staff were great. We had a problem with the cake delivery and they took it upon themselves to take care of it. The food was great, especially the kids buffet. They did a great job decorating. I would highly recommend this venue .

The space worked well for what we needed, staff was flexible and helpful working with us on logistics and planning. Our event had a lot of people coming and going, and vendors along with some specialized booth areas. All in all it worked well for what we needed.

Went for a wedding reception and wasnt disappointed. Plenty of room, and the owner herself was working the bar. Has a neat history, and solid old school looks. Fun place!

Definitely old school. Dated atmosphere and is past its prime, but the staff is always very helpful. There in-house catering is typical midwestern, but sufficient.
