I attended the most beautiful wedding at Planterra. Ive heard rave reviews about Planterra from my friends but I was skeptical, as I had an uncomfortable experience as a guest at Goldner Walshs greenhouses in Pontiac a year ago. While Goldner Walsh is a nice garden center to shop at but it cannot be compare to Planterra as a venue. In fact, Planterra cannot really be compared to any other garden nursey Ive ever been to. The closest comparison would be a modern version of a major botanical garden like the Detroit Belle Isle Conservatory. Planterra is architecturally regal, clean lines, symmetrical with an open-floor plan. The layout is cohesive and elegant. The wedding ceremony and reception flowed beautifully. All of this amongst a beautiful collection of tropical plants, big ferns, palms and a massive bougainvillea tree. The living wall bar is a showstopper. The floral designs were amazing. The giant cut floral wreath chandeliers hung above the dining tables is something Ive never seen before. I felt like I was dinning out of town in southern France or Brazil. Maybe it was all of the fresh oxygen or the fact that I was so stimulated by the décor but the food was delicious too and I never expect good food at weddings. The service and food quality was just as good as any banquet in a five-star hotel. Yes, a greenhouse is delivering food and beverage in the same league as the Ritz, Townsend or Royal Park. Décor and food beside, Planterra is an authentic place that touched my heart. It felt really special to celebrate my cousins wedding at Planterra. I will remember the night for the rest of my life. I cannot wait to see the photos!

We loved the Planterra from the moment we saw it. We knew it would be the perfect space for our unique wedding - no one we know has ever gotten married in a place like this! Too bad the office staff is inconsiderate and incompetent. They obviously know brides and grooms will put up with their crap to have their wedding at this venue. More than once I called, ready to drive up there with our deposit after coordinating with the reception site for a wedding date that both had available, only to find that they already gave our date to someone else. Only a few days had passed each time, and they gave us no waring or put a hold on the dates for me to have enough time to get in touch with our reception venue. We had problems on more than one occasion, and the Event Coordinator, David, was rude our first few meetings. We were only having our ceremony there and they seemed not to care about us since they werent getting as much money as they would for the entire wedding. After dozens of email from multiple people, things finally started falling into place. The rehearsal went smoothly thanks to Jen, she really changed my opinion of the people working there after just an hour or so. Thankfully she is working there, she should be the only one allowed to communicate with the public. While they were a nightmare to deal with, they do know how to throw a wedding, and everything was gorgeous on our big day. The perk about having your wedding here is that they include the officiant, a musician, flowers, and a toast at the end! I would recommend this place SOLELY on the wow-factor and how beautiful our pictures are!

I was the best man in a wedding here a few weeks ago. I was skeptical when I walked in for the rehearsal, but I could see why the bride and groom had picked it the night of the wedding. Not exactly your traditional reception spot, but very beautiful with a magical feel. The food was excellent and they had a decent selection of drinks. The serving staff was amazing, particularly the server assigned to the wedding party. The one complaint I have is the ceremony coordinator that they have employed there. Thats right, they have a person whose sole job is to show up for the rehearsal and the ceremony to ensure that it runs smooth. In theory it is a good idea, however, in this case it didnt pan out. The associate in question was incredible irritating in multiple ways. The first time the bride and groom met her was the night of the rehearsal and she didnt even take a second to see what they wanted, she just started telling people what to do. Thankfully she was receptive to feedback and the couple got what they wanted, but the whole thing could have been better without her. If not for her, i would have rated it five stars.

We purchased some tropical plants from Planterras greenhouse for our office. They have an expansive greenhouse in West Bloomfield which is filled to bursting with an immense selection of plants. It is open to the public, and walking through there makes you feel like you are in another world, especially in the middle of a cold Michigan winter. Their selection is far better than something you might find at a big-box store that doesnt specialize in plants. In addition to selling plants, they also make on-site visits to install live plants, as well as to maintain them, in office buildings, malls, etc. They do a really fantastic job, and also install custom displays that are not necessarily plant related (such as holiday displays and other visually stunning themes). I would highly recommend Planterra to anybody who has a need for live (or faux) plants. They have an excellent team of technicians and their customer service team is a pleasure to work with.

Planterra is a plant lovers dream in the heart of Metro Detroit, and Im so glad I went there for a one-of-a-kind fiddle leaf fig tree to adorn my new home. Shane Pliska, whose family has owned and operated Planterra for decades, personally helped me pick out the perfect tree and planter. The staff on hand was very knowledgeable about the product and even "staged" the tree for me with a moss covering and irrigation system that will ensure the tree is well-taken care of while Im traveling for work. Two days after my purchase, Planterra employee Chase delivered the tree to my home, carefully restaging it and giving me hand-written care instructions. In short, Im in love with Planterra and their expertise in plants and botanicals. Im no expert, but they are, and I feel confident that my beautiful tree will last as long as I do. Thanks!!!

I recently coordinated an event at Planterra recognizing contributors to our non profit group—an annual event every year at a different venue. At first I thought why would we want to go to a greenhouse? And then, I went to Planterra and found that greenhouse does not even begin to describe this incredible venue. The facility is stunning, the living wall is unique, the array and presentation of plants is without equal. The venue provides top of the line catering, bar service, valet parking, and a staff that is incredibly supportive. Many of the over 100 people who attended the event shared with me that they thought that this was one of our finest events and I have coordinated these events at many of the finest venues in the area. No doubt the total experience was five stars plus.

My organization hired Planterra for some rentals for an event in Detroit--and gee, may I just say how impressed I was and continue to be by their outstanding service? Walking in, I was struck by the clear variety of the greenhouses selection... the tropical plants and interior design services I hired them for were notable for their distinctively artistic bent, which reflected clear creativity from the venues management. Moreover, the staff epitomized excellent communication in its friendly, personable service and quick follow-up...as a customer, it was clear that I was the first priority for Planterra. Planterra earns my firmly positive recommendation, and given the range of its selection, it seems pretty obvious that its good for all seasons of the year!
