I tried to go there yesterday for the first time with my girlfriend. We were two girls going and we were so happy waiting in line to get in. The security started calling people to get in an he decided to stop the people from getting in just when was our turn to get in. My girl friend was following the crowd and waking towards to get in when the security said to her to hold on. Since she was already walking and she had passed the security she was not able to hear him when he asked to hold on. The security just yelled at her in a rude and violent way and my friend got scared because she did not know why he was yelling in that way. The security guy instead of calming down and ask for apologies he continued yelling in a very violent way so friend girl and I just decided to wake away and dont get in. It was a bummer...

They had a "5" on the menu next to the wines, so I thought it was $5. But when it was time to pay, the bartender told me it was actually $7 and the menu was a misprint. They refused to honor the price actually written on the menu. Thats a breach of contract between customer and seller. I would have gladly paid $7, had it actually been written on the menu. But the menu was misleading and instead of apologizing and offering the written price (or at least a discount) they made me pay the extra cash, claiming their computer system wouldnt let them enter another price (which is bull, you just override it or enter another item of equal value). Horrible customer service. Not coming back again.

Ok, the thing about Wonder Bar is you have to go on a good night. Tuesday and Wednesday have actual musicians and not some hair-gelled jerk with a tight T-shirt who plays the same effing Nikki Minaj songs. Tuesdays Music Ecology highlights music from all different genres with mostly DJ Producers (MEANING NOT TOP 40 CRAP!) and the atmosphere is amazing. Wobble Wednesdays are AWESOME- they feature (electronic, jam, reggae etc) LIVE bands from all over the country with entertainment, special cocktails ($6 for a tasty Wobblesauce!) and live painting. They sometimes have Jazz and Blues on Sundays too. Mind you, if you go to Wonder Bar on any other night- it sucks balls.

Wonder Bar should be your back-up, back-up plan for a Saturday night. Its a choppy space that fills up quickly with all sorts of polished YUPs looking for a night out. If youre not careful, you may become victim of overcrowding limits and be stuck on the floor youre on or forced to leave. The drinks selection is average and offers prices that are comparable for the area. The music is top 20 and something you can gyrate your hips to. All and all, its not the worst place you could spend your time but its certainly a bit underwhelming. Unless you live within stumbling distance, there isnt really any reason why youd choose here over any of the other dance spots in the city.

I got to the club at 11:30pm and went to downstairs bar to grab drink. When i attempted to go back upstairs to main dance floor the bouncer said i wasnt allowed because upstairs was at capacity. Keep in mind i just walked in and the upstairs was not packed. So i ended up with 3 of my other friends sitting down and listening to corny techno music in a empty basement. No dancing just straight bordism. We were not told upon admission that this would happen. A waste of money and i will not return to disgraceful service. So much for customer service. Don't waste your time coming here.

Good venue, every Monday night "Ceremony" (goth & industrial music) hosted by DJ Static! Killer dark tunes with themes ie. Down with tempo (slow & sexy), Thud (industrial beats) Ball nights (mixed) all nights are deliciously danceable and and a great place to meet other friendly goths & creatives. We socialize and dance from 9pm-1am Full bar with real glasses for your drinks, not plastic cups. Many great beverages on tap. The sound system, lighting, and dancefloor upstairs is accommodating to many dancers. All black clothing minimum (to keep the community safe from gawkers & bullies)

The bar isnt wonderful but its a pretty solid venue for locally run, weekly or monthly events in a very tolerant way. The staff is surprisingly nice and since they moved the stage area from the back to the middle, the flow is tremendously improved making it feel like a friendly place. Ive had many nice nights over many years, have always been treated with respect, and never had any issues. This place is a win for Allston.

The DJ looked like Buddy Holly crossed with Eminem and mixed as well as most Ive heard in Boston. Drinks are pricey, but they have to make up for the females who are being paid to drink and grace the venue with their presence. Feel the need to get off with your dance partner? Keep it concealed and the bouncers pretend not to notice. Bartenders are good, best Long Island Ive had so far. All in all a good time

The upstairs bar looked like many other bars and interesting, but we were ushered downstairs instead. It was dark(er) and cramped with a railroad style apartment feel. Because the bar ran nearly the whole stretch of the basement, it was difficult getting through as there isnt much space in the first place and people were stacking to get more drinks.

By and far the best part about this place is the music. Top-notch DJs and bands just about every night of the week. Youll be able to see a lot of great music here that you wouldnt get at one of the "venues" around Boston like Middle East or Great Scott.

Had an AWESOME time here last Friday! Was just walking by with some friends when we heard the door guy tell somebody in line that there was no cover, so we figured “why not?” and decided to stop in. ended up staying the whole night.

I am from Illinois and I was in Boston for a conference and they were told me my id was fake despite showing two forms of id. My id is in no way fake and I am 24 years old. They were also very condescending.

Great place to go dancing once youve already gotten drunk somewhere else. There is a $5 cover charge (at least when Ive been on the weekends) for average top 40/dance music. The drinks are overpriced.

I was a loyal customer last summer, but not only did they not let me in, they had a cop chase me down my own street and beat me up. All I did was show middle finger as I walked past. Free speech, no?

Been going here every Thursday night forever now. Usually a pretty packed room with good dancing, good DJ, and the drinks are pretty cheap compared to some of the other bars in the area. Solid.

Just attended the Monday night event Ceremony and it was SO much fun! I would recommend it to anyone who wants to check out something really different.

Meh. Sketchy, weird on the weekends with super collegiate, drunken crowd. Horrible music. Ok when its not all laser beams and territorial.

Best night out in a long time. The DJ was on point. Drink prices were great and the best part of course was my girl enjoyed herself.
