I played here yesterday June 28 2016. I found the course, staff and price to be fantastic. Everyone out there was friendly, the other golfers let me play through since I was a single. Really great experience. If you are a nice person who understands golf etiquette please come out and play this course. If you are a jackass please go play somewhere else. I played the North and the East course. The north was very open, a lot of bunkers and a few hazards here and there. Very scoreable. The east on the other hand was very difficult, tight fairways, guarded greens and long from the tips. I dont know if it was the heat or my brain but I fell apart after the 14 hole. Very mentally challenging. Great course though, love my experience I will def be back.

Played the North/East course today for first time and have to say since moving here from Kentucky this (so far) is the course Ive been looking for. This reminds more of the courses Im used to playing in KY. Staff were friendly, fairways and greens in good shape. Excited to go back as soon as I can to play the South/West course. As far as a negative I would say not thrilled to learn about switching to Bermuda grass in the fairways. Some courses in Ky do this as well and it stays dormant too much of the year. I am a fan of bentgrass for this climate and would like to see it stay that way but this wont keep me away, love the layout. Definitely recommend and really enjoyed my day. Just for reference around a 7 handicap.

Both courses are very tight, Northeast a little less so. Lots of marginally maintained bunkers. Fairways and greens are in very good condition. Greens are moderately fast, and true -- fun to putt. Fairways are well kept. But, you are either on the fairway, the green or in deep trouble. Rough is a narrow strip of clumpy grass; ball seems always to settle into an nearly unrecoverable situation, a bare spot, with a large clump just behind. Hazards cross some par 5 fairways forcing ridiculous carries, sometimes even on the second shot. Beyond the rough, its thick forest and tangles of thorny vines. Good luck finding your ball, but usually youll find a couple of Top Flights.

I dont know they decided to build a course that had so many sand traps with no intention of keeping them up. I have played here 1 or 2 times/year for 10 years and the sand traps are really sad. I asked the starter about this and he got a little pissy with me about how much it cost to maintain sand traps. See my original sentence in this review. Besides the sand traps, the course is harder than your standard muni. You can add 5-10 stokes to your game here. I dont know why I play here. You are much better off making the ride up to Baltimore County golf courses.

I am a regular at this golf course. I love it here. The staff is amazing however, after an experience I had recently, I will not be returning to this course. I have noticed multiple times, the same staff member being under the influence of something. The first few times I thought she was under the influence of alcohol until I witnessed her consuming drugs in the bathroom. This is very unprofessional. I will be contacting the appropriate authorities to have this matter handled correctly.

What I really like about Compass Pointe is the rapport one can have with the staff when scheduling outings or even a tee time. We have scheduled several years worth of our Golf Association "end of year" function there and have been afforded North, East, South, & West for the event and a superior luncheon after event is over. Truly, we were blessed when CP management welcomed our yearly event and they allowed Wendy to handle our food services.

Played it once in 2015 just to see if it was a better experience. First time back in years. I thought the course was in rough shape. One of the bunkers looked destroyed. Some forced carries seemed ill-placed for me. Didnt like the greens - felt like putting was a bit of a random exercise. Staff was friendly. I really want to like this course more but with limited time to play golf I have so many options that work better for me.

Ive played here quite a bit the last few years and even have a pointe card. Not the best kept course by any means but hard to beat in value or convenience. Staff is always easy going and the place has a laid back atmosphere. No overly-strict rules / regs and other than the occasional upkeeping is kept quite well. Best yet, with 36 holes youre always able to get on without too much waiting or back-loading at holes.

My scores would be higher if the prices were less. This is a muni course (AA County), that is charging between 55 and 75, depending on which 18 you play. There are 2 18 hold courses. The course itself is maintained well, but this is a 45 to 55 course. They run price specials sometimes, so its worth it to sign up for the email alerts, but the course is not worth the money at full price.

Love that they offer 36 holes. Course this year us in great shape. Always see wildlife, deer & resident Eagle. Staff are always friendly. Only downside, when booking on-line for your tee time, not always accurate and even book when they have a tournament going on. This has happened twice this year and after driving all the way to get there, have had to turn around and leave

Just finished playing Compass Pointe. South and West Courses (10/12/15). The courses are in great shape and pace of play was excellent (4 hours). Really interesting and challenging (especially the West Course). The fairways are mostly lush and the greens and well maintained. For $38 bucks through their website, I think this is the best golf deal in the Baltimore/DC area.

Played The North/East Course on 9/15/2013 under deplorable conditions. The bunkers were all washed out, The fairways, especially on the East nine, were mostly dirt and the greens were average at best. We teed off at 8:00AM and finished at 2:10PM. I do not see how this facility is going to remain open much longer under these conditions. It is really quite depressing.

Course is a great play for the money. Fairways were in great shape. Greens were nice, not the fastest though (not a negative, just is what it is). Staff that I encountered were extremely friendly. I will definitely be playing there again and recommend that anyone can as well. For reference, my handicap is a 7.

This is my home course. 2017 I havent played near what I normally do. The course is a local muni that has friendly people and good facilities for the price. Some holes need work but the course has been bringing up the quality of the grass and you can see improvements on the east and south courses.

The course could be one of the finest around if they took care of it. The greens on East are under repair. The bunkers are in bad shape and they were pumping the water out of them into the fairways(swamp). Not worth the $60 greens fee in those conditions.
