Having played Augusta National 8 times, the Olympic Club in SF more than 100X, Cypress Point, Kiawah (all courses), and Muirfield in Scotland may speak to the merits of Choptank River Golf Club. It is a hidden treasure. There are hidden gems all over the USA. In my opinion a Hidden Gem has to be challenging. Choptank has small greens. Some of the fairways are generous and others are tight. If you play Choptank from the Blue Tees and your Handicap is 5+, you will be humbled. Doglegs are Left and Right. The personality of the course is not Driver, wedge, and 2 putt. It is more complex. Try this if you believe yourself to be better than 85% of those who play golf. Show up with a sleeve of golf balls (3). If you are as good as you think, making it to thru 9 will be no problem. No mulligans. Play the ball down (no rolling it) and Choptank will flat out humble you. As for some of the low ratings, I would bet a Dollar to win a Dime the negative reviewers left this fine golf course without their balls. If you want all you can handle, strap this Little Gem on and try to go low.

Sunday brunch? we arrived about 1:00. There was one other party(2) in the dining room. The servers and manager were friendly. This buffet is $30/person and there were 3 of us. All of the food was cold. We had to ask the manager for more water. They put out 8-10 shrimp and oysters and that was all. The view of the Choptank is very nice but we wont go back again.

The buffet was fantastic! Great variety of foods, beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious!! Service was excellent and the view never disappoints!
