Pulled up to the park entrance to pay the toll, the lady said 5 dollars a person. I handed her a twenty dollar bill which she gleefully accepted. I then noticed that there was a sign saying discounts were offered to veterans, so I asked if there was an active duty military discount - she said there was and handed me back my change. I looked at her puzzled while holding my ten one dollar bills in change, she then furthered "make sure you tell me before you hand me your money next time, and just so you know - theres no re-admittance once you leave the area." So there is a military discount, she will give it to me next time, with a receipt you cant re-enter the park which Ive never ever experienced. Always at least a same day window for re-admittance after paying 5 dollars a person to visit a park. Turns out we were in the wrong park for hiking at Gunpowder anyway, but thats our fault - the extremely rude experience of entering the park hosts my 1 star rating.

Nice place with a lot of friendly people having a good time. Sandy area is a little small, however plenty of well kept grass to sit on within 30 feet of the water. Lifeguards are there too keep everyone safe. Employees of the park are very courteous. The one dog friendly part of the beach is gross, but everything else is clean and well kept.

Beautiful little beach. I was surprised buy how much soft lines this beach. It was a weekday visit, so it was not too crowded. There are plenty of trees close by for extra shade and a picnic area with some picnic tables. There are also kayak and small boat rental options very close by.

This is our familys favorite weekend spot. The facilities are clean and capable. Life guards are a attentive, and theres good fields playground equipment if thats youre thing too. Just get there early cause it fills up fast in the summer time.

Decent beach with different things to do. Beach is kind of small but it works. Only thing I dont like is once youre in if you need to leave out you have to pay for re-entry. Doesnt make any sense to me. Great experience every time Ive been.

Nice place for the family. Fully functioning bathrooms with showers and changing areas. It is only a few dollars to get in and they offer season passes too. Get there early on the weekend if you want a good spot.

Cheap, food good and my dog can come after today he even get in the water,kids have fun and where can you go and only spend 20 dollars,what I didnt like some of the kids need some old school taken care of

If u like nature and water motorized sports, you will love this place. Its excellent for biking and hiking too but you are better off taking packing for a picnic than planing to buy anything here

Nice large area with lots to do! There always seems to be a lot of people here, but whether you are in the water or picnic areas its never felt overcrowded to me. Love the kayaking there best!

This is a great state park in Baltimore Maryland there is a small fee however children under toddler are free to get in and its beautiful here.I had a great time with family and friends!!

Rangers have poor customer service. Rented shelter, they did not supply tissue or hand soap in RRs. Had to pay for reentry to leave for soap and come back. Horrible experience.

There is always a few groups packing this area. Many folks know about gunpowder state park and have parties here often. Nice views, and clean grounds.
