DO NOT GO HERE FOR A MIDNIGHT SHOWING. Sorry for the caps but people NEED to read this if they are considering this move theater for a midnight showing, particularly since Harry Potter 7 pt. 2 is being released soon, you need to know NOT TO GO. We went to the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince midnight release at this movie theater and it turned into a mob scene were people were injured. This move theater has NO idea what they are doing. They lined us all up outside of the theater and kept us outside past midnight. They opened all theaters to Harry Potter showings at the last minute so crowds of people came all at once. Our line was the longest and held all those who had purchased their tickets before the day of. They let our line in last and as mentioned before PAST midnight. My group was second in line (we had waited there for 6 hours) and by 11:45 that night, the two girls in front of us were allowed to bring 15+ family and friends in with them when those 15+ people showed up five minutes before the movie started. The staff at the theater did nothing to correct this issue while all of the people behind this group began to protest. By the time they allowed the line to move, people were so angry, they ran into the theater, pushing, shouting, and running over people to get to the movie theater we were supposed to be watching the film in. It was terrible! Word to the wise: Talk to the theater you are planning on attending ahead of time. Make sure they are having the lines stationed OUTSIDE of the actual theater room your are going to be in and not OUTSIDE the entire movie theater. It will end badly if the staff believes they will calmly walk a group of over 100 overly excited people in through the theater and to the room they are stationed without some trouble and people getting angry and injured. Moral of the story: save yourself. do not go to this movie theater for a midnight show. You will be sorry when you pay your money early, sit in line all day, and are forced to have a poor seat because the staff is incompetent.

The only movie-house in Frederick, so most of us are almost forced to come to this location, or take a lengthy drive out of town to find another location. What can I say? A movie experience transcends the staff of the facility, but its hard to overlook the staff when theyre just so pitiful! Almost every occasion I have dealt with superlatively slow service. Almost so slow that I was moments from audibly asking for things to be a bit more prompt. I had a very recent visit where one of the four box office booths was actually in service, and only ONE of the entire concession registers was in action. The service is just absolutely subpar. I get the "guilt" solicitation as I am being sold me ticket... (Really?! I am spending this much just to come see a flick and youre harassing me for an extra dollar) and then, with a voucher for a free soda and a $2.00 popcorn, it takes me all of about 10 minutes to accomplish a transaction that could take 30 seconds. The popcorn is prepopped and cold usually, already bagged and sitting in some heated plexiglass box. The soda is coming from a fountain and I think even the most basic lifeforms comprehend how that mechanism works. How a staff can be trained to not only be so grievously slow, AND THEN UPSELL YOU THE ENTIRE TIME, boggles my mind. I was upsold every single item I asked for. I was then offered items I didnt ask for. I am relatively deliberate in my decisions and the "upselling" methodology in business is so cliche and grotesque now. Get it together Westview. Your entire staff is a joke and most of the "managers?!" walking around in business attire are nothing more than observers of the chaos, likely equally inept at doing much else than upselling your already ridiculously overpriced fare. Is there really no competition anymore for big movie business like these? This is appalling.

As usual, even though there were only 6 people in the theater, 2 of them felt it was fine to talk through the movie. As is customary in theaters today, the individual whose good time is being violated is the one who has to miss 5-10 minutes of the movie going out to find a manager to complain to so theyll send someone in to quiet down the offenders. This time however a manager (Kevin Rhodes) came into the theater with another worker. They stood at the entryway for 45 seconds, then the worker walked to the other side of the room, stood for 30 seconds, walked back to the entry and left with the manager. A total of maybe 2 minutes spent by the staff. And of course, the talkers started right back up when the staff left. So we had to leave and get our money back. Why is it my responsibility to have to maintain the theaters quiet atmosphere? Why do I have to miss the movie when Im not the one causing the disturbance? This is exactly why theaters will be out of business within my childs lifetime.

I know that the off-duty rent-a-cops handled this all kinds of wrong and that resulted in Ethan being killed, and I understand the anger at the police for the lack of training, empathy, patience, and common sense. But heres another thing, to me. What kind of raging horrible, horrible excuse for a person is this movie theater manager who throws a tizzy and calls in mall guards to kick a person with Down Syndrome out of the second run of a movie he paid to see the first time anyway? Who cares?. When his caregiver is trying to explain? When the kid is trying to call his mom and ask her to bring money. WTF is wrong with that guy. Who does that? Seriously. Where is your human decency? How could any half-way decent human being with the most rudimentary moral development do that? Lowest of the low. Pathetic. Disgusting. Why is anybody still going to that theatre? Why isnt it out of business?

The theater is a theater. In that sense, it functions just as it should. However, this theater has obviously seen better days, and is in dire need of renovation. The worst of this, at least for me, is the seats. I actually have to either choose to not wear a skirt to the movies, or frantically hope that there will be a seat available that is not cracked all to pieces and taped. Aside from that, when I can find one intact, the arm rests are the next hurdle, poking and prodding me. Then the seat cushioning is so played out that you spend the entire movie shifting about trying to keep your backside from falling asleep. Look, I know the movie industry keeps whining about not making enough money. But we all know thats crap. Every time I go to the theater there are plenty of people there. So stop being so dagum cheap and at at least make it a comfortable robbery, will ya?

Instead of posting a review (With little to almost no knowledge on the subject, like half of these comments) based off of the incident that happened at this theatre. Ill actually share how my visits to the Regal Cinema were, along with my thoughts on it. When we have gone, we have had two types of people helping us at the ticket booth and the food area. Either the barely caring, unenthusiastic type of people, or the kind, up beat type of people. The snacks there are over priced, as are the tickets (In my opinion). They do have some games there which can be entertaining. And the actual theatre rooms are nice. Big screens, good sound. The chairs arent the best, but they arent the worst. And we have had only two problems in all of maybe 10 years while watching a movie here. And in my opinion, the theatre could do for a little bit of redesigning.
