Great park... perhaps one of the best waterfront parks in the country. Yeah... I know... its my hometown and Im a bit bias, but seriously, it is a great, world class park. The crown jewel of the park is the Big Four Bridge spanning the ohio river. It is a century+ old railroad bridge that has been converted to a pedestrian and bicycle bridge. A spiral ramp from this park leads to the bridge. This park feels like it was not designed by city planners, but by an artist. The grass, trees, landscaping, and ground itself all come together to form a work of art. Mounds of Earth have been shaped and sculpted to create surreal landscapes in certain areas. Some areas will immerse you deep enough in tall landscaping that you forget your in the middle of a city (almost!). Currently, the large park is dotted with picnic tables, grills, swings, playgrounds, spraygrounds, and many walkways of both curvy or angular fashion. What can I say?... I like it.

It was beautiful! You can walk right around the river. There are very nice parks some playgrounds and very nice architectural buildings and statues. There is also a fun fountain area kids jump through and splash around. And when you get hungry you can either go to joes crab shack right on the water and enjoy a great meal or take a boat trip on the belle of louisville and enjoy a dinner while you tour the lake. You just have to pay for parking fat one of the many parkinglots across the street. Close by is also a walking bridge which is lit up at night by the marina.

Love!! My kids loved the play ground, and the water park area. Next time well try the bike rentals, it was neat to see one of the buggy bikes held 6 adults! There were lots of parties and activities going on and people out jogging, biking, walking, or just enjoying the day. Plenty of places to picnic and lots of shaded areas even in the play areas, with lots of seating areas available near the playgrounds in particular. The water is beautiful. Excited to come back! Might be my favorite part of our trip.

By far the worst venue for music that I have ever been to. I will never come back to Waterfront Park for a concert. Not enough concessions for the volume of people, ran out of water at the concession stands, and you had to weave through the long lines of the concessions to get to the porta johns located only in one location. Several areas were closed off that should have been opened at the end of the concert. It took over a half hour just to get out of the venue.

This was the perfect place for our two family crew to walk with strollers and soak up some sun along with great views. Cruised past some food trucks and what looked like a market full of arts/craft vendors. A lot of people were cooling off in the concrete water canal area, wished we had our suits with us! Felt like this park was a perfect way for us to get a vibe for the city and what it would look like to live and play there.

Enjoy the day walking the waterfront, relaxing on the lush green lawns, have a picnic or even cook out if your not in the mood for one of the many food venders. Rent a bike & take a stroll on the walking bridge over the Ohio river or take your picture with Ol honest Abe! Whatever you choose, its a beautiful, family friendly, location with lots to take in.

Had a great time here just relaxing and doing some much needed thinking. Park seemed to be safe, had a childrens area, clean and kept up for the most part. Plenty of walking paths and places to sit. Restrooms were hard to find and could have been a little cleaner. Although I cant think of a park Iv ever been to that had clean restrooms.

Always has 80% of it fenced off for somethings or other for days before and afterwards causing it to be majorly unaccessable to joggers and runners. Has huge homeless population in the morning that uses the fountains to bathe...ewww. large areas unkept with weeds most of year. Always expanding yet never any work seen being done....

If you are in downtown Louisville and the weather is nice, youll want to take time to visit Waterfront Park. There are concerts and activities regularly scheduled there, but otherwise still a great place to just take a walk and enjoy the scenery. The walk over to Indiana is beautiful, as well as their park on the other side.

A great place to hang out and view the river or go to certain events. I have been here for Forecastle and the Kentucky Guild of Brewers Craft Bash and have had nothing but a positive experience with everything from the way the park is set up and the staff at said events to the way the park is for bad weather.

Came here for both Thunder over louisville 2015 and 2016. This is a great spot to catch the fireworks and take advantage of the chow wagon goodies. Thunder advice: get here early, lay out a blanket, eat, drink, and be merry....and prepare for mass exodus once the show is wrapped up.

I visit the waterfront park almost 5-6 times a week taking my Australian Shepherd up to the park to play fris-bee. I also enjoy the cyclo-cross course its a lot of fun. The only thing is that they should step up the security around there a little bit at night time and more concerts!!!!!

We come here for Thunder over Louisville every year and sit at the Great Lawn. It is a great place to view the air show and fireworks. It used to get rowdy here but the police presence had been stepped up over the years and it is now a family friendly place you can bring the kids.

Great place to go with a well behaved pet. If you have a pet that likes water a little too much be warned there is no fence or gate or curb right up to the waters edge and in some places it would be very difficult to go in after them. Same consideration with children.

A beautiful park downtown Louisville KY. There is a lot to do and see here! Each part of the park has a different aesthetic while still coordinating with the next. You can find Joes Crab Shack, water features, and art works littered throughout the park.

My son and I had dinner at Tumbleweed, the food was excellent and the view was spectacular. After we had dinner we enjoy the river view Park and took in some of the festivities. I would rate this a 5 star location to bring your family I will be back..
