My partner of 5yrs always talked about "The Bar" and what fun it was so i got him to bring me out one night where the Lexington hot spot is and we had a blast from the time we got out of the car till we got ready to leave. Friendly staff greeted us outside ushered us in and the bartender took it from there fixing well made drinks exactly the way we ordered them.... yeah big tip to bartender. The restroom was clean and did not have the gross rest area bathroom smell... brownie points here. The drag room(I call it) was not what I expected but I live!!!! Very ENTERTAINING. And the gurls werent all tiddy gurls which gets more brownie points because I live for DRAG. Not dag(damn another girl). And this is No Shade towards Mya St James cause she has a pocket in my wallet just for her. Love me some Mya. We will be back sooner than soon. Trust!

If only there were more stars to rate, because The Bar has so many stars inside!!! My partner and i went last night...lets just say we want to be regulars!!! We were a little nervous, because 1) We have never been to a club of any kind (We dont get a baby sitter often) and 2) we are in a heterosexual relationship and were not sure if the atmosphere would be open to that. Everyone was beyond nice, from the doorman to the bartenders to the queens. I feel welcome and at home every minute. The outfits were like something out of vogue magazine, the humor was sharp and witty, the elegance was overwhelmingly stellar. I sincerely hope that the owners of The Bar will share my comments with all their employees, as we are both so grateful for their kindness. We will definitely be back!!!

I went here on a Thursday night to see what Lexingtons nightlife had to offer and while I havent been to any "real" drag bars, I thought this was a fun little place. I can only speak for the first floor, which has a nice bar/lounge area followed by a sexier stage/lounge area where the performers take you away. Thankfully, no cover, as we only stayed for a few songs during amateur night, but I was impressed by the performers. I mean, really, if thats amateur, what does the regular night look like? Very straight-friendly and clean.

Saturday arent too fun! music was not good at all only good song was only girl in the world the selection was distasteful were not mixed well so I guess dj isnt a pro. The bathrooms were nasty. The only thing was the bar setup like the mirrors on the dance floor. BEST PART WAS its good place to people watch. there was an orgy on the dance floor. its a good thing it is 21 and up! but I guess it was alright.

One of the oldest gay bars in Lexington, The Bar has not been upgraded in what seems to be decades. The two staples that keep it going is the Johnny Angel Disco, designed/modeled after Studio 54 in NYC...and the Drag Shows. However, if left neglected this too will eventually not be an attraction anymore. Covers are charged but not needed since its obviously not going to maintenance.

Warnings! This is also part gay strip club! I didnt know this, and just came because it was reported as the best dance club in the city. The dance floor is a good size, and there is a dj that plays pretty good stuff. All the staff is very nice, and respectful of the fact that I am not gay. Would recommend with the above warning.

Great little gay bar in lexington Drag shows are very entertaining, while the show room could stand to be a bit bigger. The dance floor upstairs always has current music as well as some great dance classics. Bar tenders know how to make some of the best and unique drinks around and are super friendly.

Unfortunately 1 star is the lowest you can give, otherwise this review would be 0 stars. Unless you enjoy wasting your time on a terrible atmosphere, condescending staff, and overpriced drinks then do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to be for the night.

A short little idiot slapped me in the face for no reason. When I reported it to the black bouncer, he did not do anything. They need to listen to the patrons when you tell them about violence.
