If you are planning to have the worst wedding, than this is the place for you. Management here is completely rude! Before I go into details of my traumatic episode here, I do wish to state that I took the extra steps to contact the owner of this establishment through their "management". I even tried going in person to give the information, but either the managers are hiding the fact that I was a very unsatisfied with the treatment I received or the owner just really doesnt care. When I first went into this venue, I had tears of joy. But, close to the end I had tears of anger and frustration! I was working with a young lady named Darian (who was actually quite pleasant). Everything we had gone over several times during our several meetings was set up in writing and finalized. Everything seemed to be great, until I had to start working with her manager Carolyn, who not only decided to change things, but talk to me like I was, "a problem" not as a customer. 1. We discussed the champagne (which I was providing on my own). Darian said it would be ok, she just needed to find out what the rules were about serving with their alcohol license. I called her back to get the status and Carolyn starts asking me about a champagne fee per bottle was $10.00 and how was I going to pay. I explained to her that this was not discussed with me and Darian and she needs to discuss it with her. 2. Then there was the case set up. In one of our meetings Darian and I had come to an agreement that the night before I could come over and drop off the champagne and decorations, so we could just stop by in the morning and set-up. We had agreed that 8:00 pm was a good time to show up. I was also told that they would clean and freshen the location up. I call the day before during the morning to make sure that we were still on for the drop off of our things and Darian was out, but I spoke to Carolyn. I had her n speaker and I as I was explaining the agreement she not only would she continue cutting me off, but she started raising her voice in a rude and forceful manner to tell me that they were not going to let me come in at 8:00 pm it had to be tomorrow morning. It was so shocking that I had my bridal party in the car and they couldnt believe that I was being treated that way (being the bride the day before my wedding). It was very unprofessional. Not only that, but when we arrived the place smelled musty and horrible and was pretty messy. My mother in law went to the store to buy febreeze to at least clear up the stench. It was not ready. People get tripping over the holes in their dance floor. And, after emailing Carolyn about some other issues after the wedding that needed to be resolved she didnt stop being rude. She wrote, "On a side/personal note, I do not appreciate the condescending tone that was directed towards me as I was thrown into this blindly" She was not thrown into it blindly, since she was the person changing fees, rules and prearranged agreements since the beginning. Theyre a lot more details about my horrible experience, but I think what I have said so far should be enough to warn other brides-to-be about the horror they are about to go through. Good Luck!

My experience at the Crown Uptown last night is hard to rate because the Hooten Hoolers and Carrie Nation and the Speakeasy were totally fabulous just like any other time I have seen them!! It was some of the staff before the show that was extremely rude, inappropriate and unprofessional to say the least! I walked in to purchase a ticket at the counter and the female behind the ticket counter answered her phone instead of waiting on me. When she did get off the phone she was rude and said tickets didnt go on sale until 8p so I needed to get in line when actually there was no line. A little while later she was literally yelling at customers because they werent in a straight line and it was getting a little backed up in the lobby. When I was finally able to purchase a ticket I couldnt use my credit card because their machine was acting up so I had to pay cash. When we got to our booth to sit and order drinks they wouldnt take cash if they waited on you. You had to pay with a credit card. If you needed to pay in cash you had to go up to the bar to get your own drink. Nobody really seemed to know what was going on and nothing was posted regarding payment options, but the staff behind the bar was friendly and professional. Not sure if Ill come back again but I will tell my friends about the experience. There is no need to be rude and yell at potentially paying customers!

Have been to two shows so far and have been really impressed. The waiters were amazing and did a great job of keeping up with each table. The food is very good. The dressings they present for the salads are fantastic. The soup course is unique and unexpected so its a nice mix up on your taste buds after the salad. You get three choice of main dish and they have never disappointed me so far. Desserts are a bit expensive but they are worth the money if you have the craving. In the month time span from the first show to the second they have improved on service techniques. Such as leaving a pitcher full of your preferred choice in drinks so that you can continue to enjoy during the show. I had read they do poorly but from all my observations this is quite incorrect. Even on Sunday showings the majority of the house is packed.

EDIT: I was contacted by Matthew a manager at the Crown and he was very apologetic and understanding. He said he talked to his staff and they understood that what they did was wrong. We will try this place again. Awful. They completely ruined my husband and Is night for no reason other than they thought he was sleeping when he wasnt. Then when the staff were questioned they lied about seeing him pass out all over the place, but if you had talked to anybody there they could tell you how untrue these allegations were. These people dont care about customer service. When I tried to call and make a formal complaint the manager was incredible dismissive and acted like he didnt even care. He seriously asked, "Well, what do you want me to do?" I have never been treated more rudely than by these people.

My family has looked forward to seeing the Christmas show at the Crown-Uptown for years. It had become a tradition for us. Unfortunately, we had to cancel on the day of the performance because of an ice storm, then heavy snowfall. Living over an hours drive away, travel was impossible. The offer given to me was to see the next days performance (the last one of the season). Also not possible. It was then that I found out that rainchecks are not given for the following seasons performances. That is not made clear on their website. So, my advice is to not book for late season performances, unless you want to take the very real chance of losing your money. Too bad, because we had always enjoyed the experience of the Crown-Uptown, under both old and new ownership. But no longer.
