What makes this place alright is the artists they book, the avalible seating and space they have. Unlike the other venues The Bottleneck has one pool table and TVs to play sports channels, not bad? The inside is a mess and the place looks really old, but for the music scene thats nothing. The worst part about this place isnt how rude the "sound engineer" is (some unqaulified guy who pushes knobs all night whom treats local bands poorly, as well as make any band just outright sound noisey!) It the unprofessional way the bartenders drink behind the bar and offer you free drinks. You could probably get away with being a minor drinking there. "Go was of your Xs kid buy someone elses wristband for a few bucks and no problem" or you can just whip the Xs off and they will still serve you.

The Bottleneck is a great place to see a show. Theres a fair bit of seating, which is welcome for my worn-out knees. The beer selection is pretty good and the special prices are reasonable. Staff is helpful, ticket prices are reasonable, and its an intimate venue for a show. Its a little grimy, and the bathroom situation is kind of a trashy, broken, punk-rock affair. Most of the bands I like either hit The Granada or The Bottleneck. The Bottleneck is immensely better than The Granada for seeing shows.

Its a staple. This place attracts good shows and has enough quieter nights for those of us less inclined to the noise. The ceiling is too low for any good acoustics so the shows here are louder than they are impressive but the dance floor is big, the drinks are cheap, theres lots of seating and room to walk around people, theres an outside smoking area, its walking distance from everything on Mass, theres pool tables, and your friends are probably already hanging out here. Just go.

Great venue to see both new and well known bands. Intimate setting where you can get right up to the stage for the full effect. Prices are reasonable for beer and the bartenders are friendly. The sound people helpful and friendly too. Lawrence is a great town for new talent and the Bottleneck lets new bands play there which is what its all about. My kids are in bands, when they were starting out the bottleneck let them get up on stage and treated them well.

Great place, some lousy workers, and pretty expensive. They do book the best shows though so you pretty much have to go back. This is a fun place late night I have been going to this for years and some of my best memories of being in this have been at parties here with great friends! The classic place to see a concert in this Cities.

I called in advance of a show I had tickets for and asked if I could I could reserve a booth as due to illness I'm unable to stand for prolonged periods. The girl I spoke with was exceptionally inconsiderate. I will not come here again because of her inability to accommodate a reasonable request.

Love the fact this place gets such great acts however I so wish the owner would "update" the venue. The stage, lights & sound system climate control etc... leave a lot to be desired. This place could be so much more than a collage dive if just a modest investment was made.

Really rad layout for a venue. Tons of seating with tables and bleachers, two pool tables, good sound, and a trail mix vending machine(?!). A bunch of awesome black and white 8x10 glossies of 90s bands decorate the walls. Historic and fun place to see a show.

Great small venue, Ive seen tons of shows there and will always go back when there is a band there I want to see. I love the bleacher seats as well as the other seating options if you dont feel like standing.

A classic joint. Old wood. Good bands. Roomy stage, mid size floor, 2 sets of bleachers, raised area with booth seating. The house sound guy does a great job. A couple pool tables. Bar with good selection.

This a staple of the Lawrence Experience. Its crazy some of the acts they pull for the size of the venue. Bar is usually a good experience as well.
