Back in town and thought Id hit all the old centers I used to go to. It was sad how much this place had gone down hill. Clearly the new ownership has no interest in maintaining the classy center Val used to be. The front desk worker was quite friendly but the manager/owner was standoffish and showed zero concern for her customers. The open play prices were also ridiculous for early weekday. If they are going to charge that much, they could at least clean the center back up. Stick with Plaza, Bowlerama, and Airlanes.

I bowled here once since its close to my house. This place is easily 20 years behind other bowling alleys in des moines, but not in price!! The facilities are in dire need to investment. From the scoring system to the carpet. I usually like to bowl on Sunday mornings or afternoon. I can roll at Merle Hay or air lanes for about $2-$3 a game. Here its closer to $5... WHY?? Both those places have invested in their facilities, Val has not and its a real shame too.

the bartender was coked out of his gourd. i ordered two mixed drinks and two shots. he took 6 minutes to pour me a white russian, and filled two other drink orders before getting back to me. i think he was trying to show off by pouring whiskey onto a glass full of ice from three feet above the glass. instead of landing in the glass, booze got splattered into my eyes.

What a dump. This is one of my least favorite lanes to go to. The building is in shambles. Their bowling balls are all chipped and beat up, concession prices are exorbitant. All the staff are rude or indifferent: the cashier at concessions, the person who gave us our shoe rentals, and the person who retrieved a stuck ball. All meh.

I am not sure why but I bowl my best games here. The front counter is too close to the middle lanes and does cause some congestion at times to pay and such. It is an older building but the equipment seems to be fine. The parking lot needs some repair however.

I have been going there since I was a kid. Great people and one of the few establishments where you bowl on actual wood. I always have a great time!

We went there and customer service is the best you can do bowling anywhere but customer service is what makes the difference well go back again

Doors were locked at 1245 pm on a wed. Had to call to open doors. Lane was malfunctioning. Food was fair.
