It would be easier to list what isnt wrong with this place. Most of the staff that works there does a pretty good job, some much more than others. I do have to say management need to do a better job of maintaining the place. I also think AMF need to do a better job of upkeep on their equipment. We have bowled on a league in this place for years and it is progressively getting worse. We have had bowling ball damage on multiple balls multiple times in the league season. The sound system in this building is crap.....I could listen to my cell phone speaker and it sounds better. The oil machines seem to break down frequently and leave huge dry spots all over the lanes....or it floods the lanes with too much oil. The lanes break down frequently and no one is in too big of a hurry there to get anything done quickly on repairs. They have tried to make it some improvements to the building, the bathrooms got made over......now the floors always have standing water on them. It looks like it leaks down the walls from the toilets, but the drain on the floor doesnt seem to drain the existing water. The lighting in the bathrooms is very dark now. The tables and chairs are all falling apart.....there is hardly a level table in the house. I would like to see fixed bar stand type of tables installed. Our whole league has to move tables around when we get there to be able to get around. Spray painting a ceiling fan does not make it new...nor does it make it function better. The replaced the ball returns with some used ball returns and hardly a one is set up the way they are supposed to be and they do not function properly. The monitors that have the scores on them are almost impossible to read because of the condition they are in....they are old and need to be replaced. The control panels that the bowlers use are difficult to follow and need to be updated. The call buttons and some other functions dont work on some of them. I could keep going on and on and on.......it would probably be better to bulldoze the place under and rebuild. AMF in general needs to step up and do something with all of their facilities and do a better job of maintaining them. We are currently looking for a new place for our league if we can find one.....or we may not come back.

First off, most bowling alleys put families near families and older bowlers near older bowler (unless packed). We were placed in between 2 families with very little kids running in and out of the lanes and bowling into our lanes too.We started bowling and were about 3 frames in when our lane stopped working. It wouldnt record pins, dropped pins every where, wouldnt reset, ect. We were told to wait while they fixed it. About 20 minutes later they had us move over near more children - available lanes near other adults only couples were available though. There, the metal lining came off onto our lane, we fixed it and moved on and they came and yelled that we about to be asked to leave. Id love to know why we couldnt fix it when the father next to us went farther down the lane multiple times to get his sons ball that was thrown into our lane. We just didnt want to wait another 20 minutes again. Later our ball was stuck at the end of the lane and we had to waste our throw to get it out. Overall this place was terrible and we will never go back. The manager was very rude and was constantly talking to other customers while i was trying to talk to her (i waited in line and she ignored me and kept talking to the customers that would just walk up) We also ordered pizza and fries. The cheese wasnt even melted and tasted like cardboard. The fries came out cold and tasteless. We payed 30 for food and 40 for bowling. Waste of money. And the sign clearly stated on Saturday from open to 8 it was $6.19 per person (not per person per game). We payed well more than we thought for this miserable date.

Horrible experience. Never retuning to this establishment. It was our first time to this place, and they are not getting our business ever again. The front desk clerk did not explain the charges clearly at all, we asked how much 1 game would be, the front desk clerk said it was $6 per game plus $5 for each players shoes. My husband even said to him "oh wow thats a good price, so the total would be about $22 plus tax" and the front desk agreed with him, and said we check out after we bowl. We ended up playing 2 games and buying some food because we thought the bowling prices were very good. When we went to check out it the total ended up being well over $55. Of course my husband and I were surprised by the total and asked the details of the price, and then the front desk clerk decided to inform us it was actually $6 per person for each game. For a single family who is on a budget and expected a certain total it was a very unfortunate event. We werent even able to talk to management, and the front desk clerk basically implied we were lying. To say the least we will NEVER be returning to AMF College Lanes.

For everyone complaining the prices are outrageous obvious is not doing a good enough job looking for deals. I have NEVER gone to this alley and paid full price. You can sign kids up online and bowl 2 games for FREE over the summer EVERYDAY, just pay for shoes. When you leave they also give you an online survey coupon on your receipt where you can get another $5 off, which I turn around and use on shoes next time. The survey takes all of 5 minutes to complete. For adults, they also have a huge stack of buy 1 get 1 bowling coupons right on the desk and you can take as many as you want. I took my son there with play dates each week over the summer before school and we never had any issues. The staff was super friendly which was nice given the amount of kids that come and bowl. Bowling is expensive everywhere, not just at one alley.

This place has changed management. Is it a good thing maybe. The service has gotten a little bit better but is still really really poor. I think they make it a must to hire people that are less then par in customer service and cant think on their feet. This has been a reoccurring theme over the last several years that we have bowled there. The one positive thing at this alley is the lanes mostly all work now so kudos to them. I think the last thing that they need to fix to make this one of the better bowling alleys in the Kansas City area is a staff make over. It takes them entirely too long to do anything...

My experience was not up to standards.it was rigged.I kept losing because the floor had dents.the pins were flying everywhere. Some were fell and some were flying.others didnt even show up.I would bowl but the ten pins would still stand there.shoes did not fit and many of my peers fell and workers kept interupting by just walking through the lane.I paid hundreds of dollars for absolute bollocks. Hundreds of dollars plus tax making it like 60 bucks!.do not recommend.amf please reply soon.we have to discuss something.overall great place.would recommend
