Reds is a nice little gem nestled away in North Liberty. Atmosphere: Its a bit dark and there are TVs in every corner (which is to be expected in a college town!) It can be a bit rowdy when its busy so keep that in mind. Food: There is a pretty decent range of food, from flat bread pizzas to sandwiches and full dinners. I highly recommend their burgers. They range from the normal to the extreme. My friend had the Denver Boy (bleu cheese, bacon, peanut butter, and cajun seasoning) and she loved it! I was skeptical but after a bite the flavors really do go together soooo well. Im a sucker for the Billy Craven (red pepper aioli, red peppers and goat cheese) recommend it on the chicken breast. We also usually get an order of the Szechuan Brussel sprouts as theyre just wonderfully delicious. The twisted Mac N Cheese is good too if youre not a veggie person! Service: It ranges but it never strays off from good for me. When its busy (which is alot!) youll get pretty normal service but during the slow bits you get amazing service which is pretty average. They are always in a good mood though and their recommendations are pretty solid! Drawbacks: I wont deduct a star because its really not a businesses fault for these but things to keep in mind when you go: Its almost always busy except at odd times. Expect to wait 30 mins or so at normal dining times. Even after all this time of being in business its still packed on most nights. Since its busy a lot, its often noisy as a lot of people bring out their families or friends and either through cheering at football or just talking loudly, it can be a bit hard to hear the person youre dining with at times. Neither of these are reasons not to patron in the slightest but rather something to keep in mind if youre looking for a quiet place to enjoy a meal or wanting to get in quick to eat and leave.

If I had to design a restaurant it would look alot like Reds! The beer is the focal point here where there are routinely 10-15 beers on tap that you probably havent seen before, and the bottle list is impressive! The burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, flatbreads and pastas here are all top notch, leaving very little to be desired. The black/tan onion rings along side an alehouse burger or a buffalo chicken flatbread with a nice dark beer makes Matt a happy boy! Happy hour from 3-6 yields 2 for 1 libations = excellence. The true gem of Reds as youll hear from friends, is the patio. A sprawling area with a central fire pit that can accomodate groups from 2 to 20. It takes a solid night to amazing when youre able to just relax w/ dinner a drinks out here. Come early because you, like those before, will want to linger. The wait truly adds to the mystique of Reds as the patio combined w/ the food, beer and service are so nice that youll tolerate waiting an hour just to recreate it every time you go. Truly the spot in the area. Be ready to wait when you go or call ahead and get your name on the list. Worth the wait every time!

We ate there last night 7/7/16. The food was very good and the service was good. The problem was the extremely noisy patrons jammed into the booth next to our table. Judging by the number of empty martini glasses sitting on the table they all had quite a bit to drink and were literally yelling across the table at each other in a social but extremely inconsiderate way. I noticed people from the other side of the room staring at them and it was our misfortune to be stuck next to them. I mentioned this to the waitress who was sympathetic but did not offer to ask them to tone it down. This restaurant has a large outdoor patio, spacious bar are and a separate restaurant area . These folks were not eating, they were just drinking and it would have been more appropriate for them to have been seated outside or in the bar and not where families were trying to eat and relax. I mentioned this to the manager on duty and was told that patrons could sit wherever they choose. Needless to say, if you want someplace to relax with family or friends after a busy day at work, Reds is not for you!

We had a wonderful dinner for my wifes birthday at Reds. Patio seating was comfortable & clean. Though the music playing didnt seem to fit with Reds typical customer, it wasnt too loud and so it certainly wasnt a deal-breaker for me. The beer selection was amazing. Service was mostly great with much appreciated customer-focused team-work (only one of several servers seemed unhappy as she forcefully placed my beer down on the grate-top table spilling some of it through the table onto my leg). We brought another couple for their first-time visit to Reds... and we all plan to return. Our server even brought my wife an extra treat for her birthday!

We came here early evening on New Years Eve for just a dinner out at a place new to all of us and they were very busy! I think we got the last parking space in their small parking lot. I knew there were vegetarian options, and my husband and I ordered the beet burger (we could not find the Gardein products that I had seen online printed in the menus we were given). My MIL ordered a Reuben. We enjoyed our meals, and the service was friendly. We will most likely visit again, but we dont have a reason to go North Liberty much, and it would be nice to see additional vegetarian and vegan options.

One of our favorite places! Besides their extensive beer choices, we LOVE the food and the good service weve experienced. Our favorites: their Crazy Goat appetizer, the Billy Craven chicken sandwich, and the Potato Gratin side. We also enjoy sitting outside on the patio during nice weather - very relaxing. They have always been pretty busy when weve been there, and weve occasionally had to wait a short time, but it has always been worth it. Ive recommended this place to several people, and those who have tried it have not been disappointed. I dont think you will either! Give it a try.

There is not a a better outdoor eating area around in my opinion. Im from Cedar Rapids, so worth the short drive down to have a drink and dinner out on the patio. The patio is quiet, private and has a nice big fire pit. In colder months, they also have some kerosene heaters out. Its a busy place, but they take reservations - so we always try to plan ahead a bit and never have issues getting in. The menu is good - this is may more than just a pub n grub. For craft beer fans, no way youll be disappointed. The buffalo chicken pizza was really good as was the Umami Burger.

Not for me. The servers look unprofessional and even break health codes with their attire. Not greeted when we walked in, even though there were three works within five feet talking. Server actually offered us water rather than drinks. No suggestions, no upsells, no personality. Only checked on us once. We waited forever for a bill. This was around the 3pm hour on a Sunday - so it wasnt a busy time. I wasnt impressed and wont be back.
