First things first we got there and left because it was awkward when we got there and there was a roach crawling on the urinal. We bought a drink and left because the bartender was weird when we got a friend to get back we were charged 5 dollar cover and they knew we just left and had already been drinking his excuse was its the holidays. Next my friend asked the bartender to make a Barbados surprise and when the bartender asked him to explain how others make it he showed him a picture and the bartenders response was dude Im not layering that after that we left spite the fact we came back and spent money over that dump place we were still charged cover and got watered down drinks. I come often but you can Miss me and my friends we WILL NOT be back. We can travel to get to better shows and a good time, BTW tell your drag Queens to be there on time.

This is the second time in a row that i have been to this bar and the same bartender is very rude and disrespectful. Lastnight the bartender told me he was not layering my drink for me, well the drink is supposed to be layered as thats how its made. The time before that it was my friends birthday and he refused to give my friend her drink as they have a special 10 for $10 on ur bday. Then i go talk to management and it all just went in one ear and out the other. I always tip the bartenders well this one will never get a tip from me. Before i left i went to the bathroom and there was a roach crawling on the urinal. I will not retirn to this bar. I will drive to basix in cedar rapids i also would not reccommend this bar to anyone. They really need to step up their customer service.

After being in the bar for over an hour, buying drinks, I was informed thatI would ned to pay a cover for my partner and myself. I asked the "manager" if that was corect - yes it was. I told the "manager" that I could take my friends and I elsewhere to spend my money. The managers" reply? "ok. Bye." I strongly encourage readers of this review, gay, bi, tr8 or otherwise NOT to patronize this establishment - PERIOD!!!! I assure you that no one will EVER see me in this place again!

I visited Studio years ago and am impressed with the new owners. It is a very inviting environment with welcoming staff and a safe atmosphere. This is a college bar so expect a younger clientele but they treat everyone right (I am in my 30s and always have a great time, am greeted by the owner and staff and am made to feel like I matter, not scowled at like a certain bar nearby I will never return to).

Stickier than i was expecting and the bathrooms are in need of a serious renovation. Great for gay/bi men and straight girls. Karaoke night is worth the trip. A good crowd of ppl overall. Their sex on the beaches are the best in town.

Visited on my way through Iowa City for the first time. Pleasantly surprised by a rad drag show! It was actually Open Stage so acts other than drag were allowed. Great performers and positive vibe.

Its gay club plus a whole lot more. Its a community center, safe zone and the entertainment is second to none. I highly recommend Studio 13.
