I had gone to Opera a couple of times with friends and enjoyed it not for the crowd (mostly men, mostly creepy), but for the club atmosphere and being able to fool around on the stages and poles. During my second or third time going, my brother, his girlfriend, and I were all dancing on a platform with my brother ensuring that no one grabbed or harassed his girlfriend and me. However, a security guard kicked him off the platform repeatedly, stating that it was "Females only" and if he had to tell him to get off one more time then he would be dragging him out of the club. So, I asked this security guard what the problem was and he just kept repeating "Females only" and threatening me with "Do you want to go back up there or do you want to leave?" I was like "This is ridiculous, Im leaving." Afterwards I couldnt help but feel gross by how evidently this club was profiting from the bodies of women who dont even work there (if youre gonna sell us on stage at least compensate us). My body was allowed on that platform because it appealed to the male patrons and my siblings was not. This rule is not listed on Operas website, so I could not have anticipated this incident occurring. I felt helpless, degraded, and angry that my brother, who had bought a ticket and was purchasing drinks, wasnt permitted to freely have fun - plus, being reminded that I was an object that apparently exists in these spaces for the pleasure of men prevented ME from having fun. And what about transgender people who do not easily pass? You gonna wildly misgender them and kick them off? Please work on being more inclusive and less blatantly sexist and transphobic.

Unfortunately they make you give at least 1 star. Full Review below. Arrived: Dec 25/26 (midnight) Cover: $20 guys and girls DJ Ace I believe and he sucks. How are you an ATL DJ and you play 1 or 2 Migos track, 1 Gucci track, no T.I., and a bunch of Northern artist stuff. (Meek and company) About 4 songs every girl would like to dance to and the rest were songs that would likely start a fight after pumping male egos. Atmosphere: Straight cigarette and weed (Reggie) smoke EVERYWHERE! CIG butts and blunt roaches on the ground. Ppl dropped trash where they stood and spit like they were outside. The place was a dump and thats how people treated it. 20 guys to every 1 girl. Sausage fest. Dress code: LMFAO. No enforced code. T-shirts, baggy jeans, hoodies, beanies, shades (wheres the sun), sweatpants. Just sad. Drinks: $8.50 a pop with barely any alcohol. Crown Royal was NOT Crown. It was E&J at best. Bartenders were cool people. (Smiled, joked, checked ID) Security was present and looked ripped and professional. Molestation at the door was thorough. (The pat down) Soo this 200lb chick thought it was sexy to dance on the pole all night. #realtears This isnt magic city... Avoid if you like good music, good drinks, diverse crowd, or anything remotely adult like.

When I went it was $15 ticket/cover, $10 dollar mixed drinks, $5 beers + 20% tip + $5 parking. Very expensive!! My girlfriends and I went to hear the DJ spin tracks from Passion Pit (which is why we spent $15 on a ticket) only to not hear any such tunes before we got bored and left at 12:30. The DJ was not that great and the music was just too loud that you couldnt understand anyone who might have chatted you up. Now, I am all for loud music, but if you cant mingle, forget it. It was also 18+ night, which meant the dance floor was full of GT frat bros and sorostitutes doing nothing but humping each other. I thought this place had a strict dress code? Didnt seem like it at all that night. Word to the wise, if you have to go here and plan on getting at least buzzed, start drinking in the parking lot. You will be out $60 bucks and not even have a buzz if you only buy drinks at the club. Pretty sure I will be checking out a different club before I ever consider coming back here.

I came to ATL to visit my best friend and boy did she show me a good time! as soon as I touched down we came here it was a Wednesday night so I didnt think it was going be fun. they were also filming a malisa macarthy movie on the same street which was interesting. overall it was amazing to see people having a good time without anomosity was a beautiful thing. the DJ was amazing! the bartenders are awesome! the guys arent supper aggressive if you say no to a dance theyll just go about their business. the security makes sure everyone is taken care of! NO strict dresscode maybe because it was college night I dont know. I would defiantly fly back here from Arizona just to go this club And come back the next morning thats how jumpin this place is! its worth the 20 dollar cover coming from where Im from the club is $15 its small hot crowded and bad taste in music.

Drove 5+ hours for the Madeon show here. The club doesnt seem to be very well run when it comes to hosting artists. One of the wait staff kept kicking the roadies out of the back area, and even grabbed one of them that looked like maybe he was a body guard. It took that guy showing up to kick everyone out of the back area. The venue staff also didnt do anything about an overly aggressive hispanic man and his wife who started threatening people in the reserved area upstairs, started having sex in public, and then did nothing when the wife committed battery against me because I was next in line to the restroom and she was too entitled to wait. They also wouldnt let Madeon use his own screens and showed ads for their upcoming concerts during his show. I really enjoyed the Madeon show, but the venue is trashy and I wish they had hosted it elsewhere.

Ive loved this club since 2008. But their Super Bowl party was the first "daytime" event Ive been too, and it was fabulous!! Huge projector screen on the stage, and they set up private couches on the dance floor. Additional T.V.s throughout the the venue. Will definitely attend their future events. Highlights: One of the more consistent clubs in ATL. Its huge. The decor is vintage classy..its literally set up like an Opera Theater. Huge dance floor. Upper VIP has private bar and bathrooms, which is a great alternative if you dont have enough people for a VIP table. Opera Box sections are my personal favorite though. Your box overlooks the dance floor and theres a privacy curtain to separate you from the hallways. LOL super funny when people peek their head in trying to find their group later in the night.

Been to all the ATL Clubs in the last 6 years living here. Opera never appealed to me being I am 50+. But one thing Ive learned about ATL your welcome to any venue as long as its your music scene. Borgeous and Morgan Paige were appearing at the Opera and love EDM so took my chances and got a couple VIP ticks and had an incredible time. I havent been on a normal night so cant speak to that so If Opera wants to sets me up, I may try it out. But if your going to an event their, spend a few bucks more get the VIP tickets which are fairly cheap if you get them early. You get access to 2nd floor and 3rd floors and early VIP line getting in. Thanks Opera I really had an incredible F........ Evening with House DJ, Borgeous, and Morgan Paige. Some nights are just made to be Totally Assume.
