Four stars, five stars--at a cinema, is it fair to include the film you saw? This place is a wonderful independent cinema, with a large, welcoming lobby with comfy chairs and coffee tables. Plus a snack bar with beer, wine and adult snacks beyond the popcorn and sno-caps customary offerings (which are also available). The Fleur shows indie movies which may not be showing at the mall closest to you. TG. If this place were within walking distance, Id probably live there. Alas, thats not an option since I visited during a business trip.

Always a good selection of films, my first pick when were looking at going to a movie because: 1) The "good" (arty, meaningful) films are either only here or here and/or at the Varsity first. 2) Reasonably priced - matinee pricing, "loyalty card" that gives free admissions after so many films, rewards of popcorn, drinks, etc. 3) Its NOT in "da Mall" - meaning no hassle parking, supporting the "real" city, and not a bunch of Gen Y and "thrasher" folk being crazy out front!

Friendly and personal staff give Fleur Cinema a very personal and relaxed atmosphere. The changing movie titles above each theater is a very professional touch that helps to separate Fleur from your typical mainstream multiplex. Prices are reasonable and while the selection is small, the beer on tap always has a high quality variety of local and popular beers.

Love the Fleur!! Its a great slice of Des Moines. The only place that shows the best of independent films cool decor and a glass of wine if you so desire. Also some great places to eat on this side of town. Old West, Skips Johnnys Italian Steak House,Mazzodis. Great date night or night with friends. Ive gone by myself before too.

Best art-type theatre in Des Moines, near airport motels (for bored travelers); great concessions (even booze and hot tea); good atmosphere; excellent films. I go see about anything that the Fleur brings to Des Moines, and I am rarely disappointed. I LOVE the Fleur Cinema.

Fleur Cinema and The Varsity are Des Moines art and independent film houses, Fleur Cinema is great because they have four screens. This is the place for great foreign films in Des Moines. Plus they dont overwhelm you with ear splitting volume and never ending previews.

Quaint, neighborhood theater with wine, beer, and a coffee bar for taking into the theater. They also serve popcorn and traditional movie snacks. They bring a lot of indie films in addition some box office hits. This is the place to watch all of the Oscar nominees!!

Locally run, old school style theater generally (but not exclusively) specializing in independent and foreign films. Its the only place in town to see many movies with a smaller release and a great place to catch a movie while drinking a coffee or beer.

Great selection of films. The seating isnt the most comfortable out there, but its acceptable. Sound quality was a little lacking for one of the films Ive seen, but its usually find. The beer is overpriced, but popcorn was well below average price.

I give them a lot of credit, as they screen things you wont find anywhere else. If youre spoiled by modern cinemas, you might be a bit let down by the technical presentation (no stadium seating, no super hi-fi laser projectors) but they serve beer!

Super theatre that specializes in showing independent movies with a café serving beer from national breweries and local craft breweries. Be sure to follow them on social media as they often do special events and have viewer choice for movies.

This is the place to go for those unique films that just dont get play time at the larger cinemas. I love the concession options which include not typical cinema fare. The setting has that artsy feel to it. Wonderful experience.

Very nice old fashion movie theater with not your typical movie food. Get a gourmet coffee, a piece of cake, beer, or a glass of wine. Chairs, couches and tables to sit and chat with friends before or after the movie.

If youre into movies, youd be into the Fleur. Usually they show less of the big box office hits, more of the under-the-radar quality stuff. Local beer on tap sure doesnt hurt either. My favorite place to catch a film.

One of the best independent cinemas in the area. Concessions you dont find at the chains (dessert, wine, beer, etc) and good films. Staff is friendly and rest rooms are always clean.

Nice little theater. Well taken care of and a reasonable price. Seats are a bit uncomfortable but ok to sit in for 2 hours. Love that you can have a beer while watching your flick.

You have to see a film here! A smaller, more intimate theater that shows movies that typically arent shown in the rest of the city. A Des Moines treasure, you need to go here now!

Always has the movies the mainstream theaters dont. Screens are smaller than most, which gives a more home-like feel. Great place.
