Unfuckwithable Theophile
I went to Gordon Lightfoot. Gordon was great, but the Paramount sucked. It is not designed for adult patronage. If you are over 5 6" and weigh more than 140lbs I challenge you to sit in those seats for any length of time. When youre through you may never walk again. My knees barely fit between my seat and the seat in front of me and me and my neighbors really got to know each other, since our shoulders started to grow together during the show. Ive had more room on the bench seats at Kinnick Stadium. I will never step foot in there ever again.

I love the Paramount, and the sound for live music is amazing. When I saw Elvis Costello there a few days ago he finished his regular set with "Alison" and used no amplification at all. He walked to the edge of the stage, past the microphone and in front of the monitor with an acoustic guitar that had no pickups in it. You could have heard a pin drop in that place the sudience was so mesmerized.

Saw the re-opening gala that featured Harry Connick Jr. Fantastic venue. The lobby of mirrors and chandeliers is a wonderful sight to walk through. Overall acoustics were fantastic for the age of the theater. Only exception the seats on the 3rd balcony lack leg room for someone 6ft and above. For tall people be sure and get an aisle seat if its on 3rd balcony. Great jewel for Cedar Rapids

I won free tickets to an Orchestra Iowa event at Paramount, but they were apparently unable or unwilling to redeem these tickets online or over the phone and required them to be redeemed in person. Maybe thats fine if you live in Cedar Rapids. Not so great for people who live elsewhere!

Love the Paramount! Have been to a few concerts and enjoyed it each time. Last concert the couple next to us had drinks they nursed through the whole 2 hours causing it to smell like a bar with was very unpleasant.

Beautiful, stunning decor. Comfortable seating. Music was horribly loud though, and the seating wasnt stadium seating, like I thought it would be, hard to see over the person in front of you.

The paramount really came into its own after it came back from the flood of 2008, the venue looks better than ever, and the acts it brings in are some of the best in the region.
