Its odd to have a state park in the heart of a city because most cities invest in parks on their own without state involvement. Indy is a little different. The city was recently ranked at the bottom in terms of public parks, so its nice that the state stepped in and created a state park here. This is generally a very nice park. The re-purposed Washington Street bridge connecting the Indianapolis Zoo is especially nice. Dinged one star because maintenance could be better. I recently tried to cycle the White River / Wapahani Trail here and it was covered in debris. Still well worth a visit if you find yourself in Indianapolis.

This is a very cool and very large area. Concerts bring many people here and they sit on the lawn and have a great time. I also enjoy coming here when its not so packed on a normal sunny day and doing some photography. The views of downtown Indianapolis and its skyline are great. Walking along the trails to the zoo you also discover cool almost hidden pathways that can make excellent backdrops for pictures too. Its just an overall nice place to hang out for a while, take a date here and walk and talk, and just take in the nice views of the city. Hit up the museum, catch a baseball game, walk the canal, and enjoy the day.

This place is tough to review, because the venue is great, but the companies they allow to run the shows there are not. I had tickets for a concert on a Sunday night, and the company running the show decided to delay it for almost 2.5 hours because of an incoming storm. It didnt rain at all for 2 hours, plenty of time to have 70% of the show done. Instead, the company opened up the doors nearly 3 hours later to play an abbreviated show during a thunderstorm, likely so that they wouldnt have to give refunds or reschedule. I recommend the venue, but concert goers beware.

We experienced the Temptations and the Beach Boys at White River State Park!!! What a beautiful night!~ Thank You to all the staff and management !!! Everything went so well. Parking was a non-issue. Got bike rides to the seating area. Got looked over without being insulted. What a great outing!!! Not one mosquito bite!!! And the fire flies were out in number..... I guess they like 60s rock and roll too!!!!!!!

Went to an outdoor concert at the Farm Bureau Lawn venue. Concert was great with good sound. Only 2 problems I encountered. One the stage is oriented where the sun goes down so it was a little blinding for awhile. Second (and worse) was not being able to take our own lawn chairs in. Those beachchairs they provided were ok but nearly impossible for me to get out of! Still a good night ad and concert.

The four wheeler bikes we really fun to ride! Very spacious seats and comfortable. Its a great place to take your family out! If youre a first timer in Indianapolis, you should definetly visit and use the bike and go boat riding in the canal. Whether its a couple or family, this place is definetly worth going to. Especially, during nice 70 or 80 degree weather!! Beautiful!!

Loved the concert! However, they opened the gates late so we stood in line way too long. By the time we got to sit down it was almost time for the opening act to start. Something anyone should know would be that you need to keep the water filled in the hand washing stations outside the port o potties. They were empty before the opening act was finished!

This was a great venue for a concert. We went to see Three Doors Down an Daughtry. In all honesty I had never heard of Daughtry, but they did a pretty good job regardless. Overall had a great time and the event was very well organized. Would suggest eating before you go however. The venue food is a little pricey for the quality of food you receive.

Lovely green space in downtown indianapolis at the end of the downtown canal. Check out the ever-rotating public art installations on the bridge over White River ... or during the summer take in a concert during the summer concert series. There are always runners, walkers, bikers, and other events going on from spring through fall.

Great place to take a large group of students to roam free and have a little fun. There are cycles of all shapes and sorts and there are also paddle boats to rent and ride on the canal. Just realize though that if you want to feed a group at this park that it has to be approved in advance and may require a fee.

As a "State Park" it is lacking in almost all normal Indiana state park activities. No fishing, no boat ramp, no camping, no horseback riding, no naturalist activities. In my opinion, this "park" needs to be funded by the City of Indianapolis, NOT the State of Indiana. As a State Park, it is an embarrassment.

White River Park is a great little park that runs right into the heart of downtown Indianapolis. Plenty of space to run or bike through as well as green space to relax in. Running a long the river is great as well. There is a substantial amount of free parking as well if you just look for it.

My wife and I took our one -year-old here on a weeknight. We rented a tandem bike and rode along the canal. The views were very pretty. There were a lot of people jogging, biking, etc. and the park is very well-maintained. The area feels very safe, and its an enjoyable place to explore.

Great concert venue!! Beautiful park! They even give you free chairs to use if you have lawn seats. It is very convenient to get in and out and it is a wonderful location downtown Indianapolis! Its on a slight slant/ hill, so its easy to see the stage even if you are towards the back!

I love this park. Bring a hammock and enjoy a lazy afternoon/evening. Fun walking & biking trails. The canal is also beautiful. Theres even some natural wildlife right here in the city. Saw a family of raccoons one night, so cute! Sometimes there are fun pop-up events.

Very good place for a calm and quiet outing. The park is near to downtown Indy. It has got good parking space, though not free. You can rent bicycles and tricycles for a quick ride. Also there is an option for peddle boating through very beautiful artificial lake like.

Im not too familiar with Indy but I love this park. My husband took me there for our anniversary and it was beautiful. We rented bikes and rode around looking at beautiful scenery. We also rented a paddle boat which was so romantic. 5 stars hands down.

Lovely area, but the new parking 70system is inconvenient and frustrating. Line to pay for ticket at machine, sign saying no cashier, line to exit because there was a cashier. There should be more than one place to pay even when there isnt a cashier.

Wonderful oasis in the city. It can be very peaceful. It feels safe during daylight and early evenings. Nice breezes and people there for fun. Easy access from east end of zoo parking lot. Romantic. The acoustics under the bridges are great.
