I have been to my fair share of night clubs in Indianapolis. I will be the better person and NOT name the less desirable ones Ive been to. But NEVER have I felt so safe and at home than I do when Im at The Vogue. I started coming here over a year ago with one of my old friends and the atmosphere, staff and general sense of security put me at ease right away. Yes, there is a dress code. But thats because they are the best and can demand the best from their customers. If you cant be bothered to wear your pants on your waist, wear a belt, and have a shirt that doesnt go to your knees then please, stay home. For The Vogue, you dress to impress...on dance club nights anyhow. Concert nights are a little more lax about the dress code, but you still have to look presentable. There are multiple bars open during the heavier parts of the night and the bartenders are always friendly, even if theyve had a rough go of it that day. Most all of them remember your drink order too which, honestly, is an amazing feat I couldnt even HOPE to achieve. They see SO many people on any one given night that just the fact that they remember that you ordered a Vodka Cranberry or whatever is SO COOL. And yes, sometimes there is a wait to get a drink. But its never extraordinarily long and you can ALWAYS go to a different bar in the club. There are a lot of clubs that hire "security" that only stand around and LOOK at everyone. The Vogue security team is constantly on alert and wont hesitate to step in and tell someone to leave you alone/ remove them if youre being harassed. If someone is obliterated drunk, they remove that person safely and calmly. If theres ever a commotion, its because the person being removed decided to fight. Ive had my fair share of guys that cant understand that no means no, but one word to ANY nearby security officer and they make sure that person leaves me alone. Ive seen them do it for LOTS of females. Their whole aim is not to be "racist" or "throw people out for no reason" like some older reviews claim. Their objective is to provide a safe atmosphere for EVERYONE that comes in and everyone that works there. They are the MAIN reason I feel safe coming in by myself. Bottom line: This club is SAFE. This club is staffed by the FRIENDLIEST people I know. This club is everything the other clubs in the city should aim to be. Theres a reason its been around for so long.

The Vogue, normally our favorite venue for concerts, disappointed us severely recently. After a 2.5 hour drive to get there, where we had reserved seating due to my wifes handicapped status, we were dismayed when a large number of people were allowed to collect in the reserved seating area, completely blocking our view of the show. Repeated polite requests for the staff to clear the "squatters" from the area went unheeded, resulting in us leaving shortly after the show began. $52 down the drain. At one point I had returned to my wife only to find two women sitting in my seat! The entire point of having a reserved seating area is for those who reserved those seats to be able to view the show, how could The Vogue allow such inconsiderate behavior go unchallenged? I guess selling a few more drinks was more important to The Vogue than our business, we wont be back.

LOVE LOVE LOVE The Vogue!! Awesome place to see some great concerts, bartenders are super friendly, as is all of the security staff and management! Club nights are always a blast! They changed their dress code recently to deter more of the unsavory characters from coming in which I completely agree with. As for the "racist" reviews: Theyre not racist, they just dont want amazingly ignorant people who dont know how to wear their clothes, tip a bartender or conduct themselves in a public setting inside their club.. All in all, I think its the best dance club in Indianapolis and a great concert venue!!

I like this place until they placed a racist at the front door. Dush wantd the ID to tell him exactly what age the person is. What cant calculate the years! Oh but you make others go back for second IDs and you let the little white girls in even if they dont pass your ID spot checks. After this expierence theyre not even worth the one star I have to give them. This club is not worth your time or money. Go downtown to party! Club Blue, Ice, Have a nice day cafe, etc all rock better than this one.

Went to Retro Rewind at the Vogue a few weeks ago and loved it! Never knew you could get such a big-city club experience here in Indianapolis. They really do it up – with sharp-looking dancers up on platforms, cool deejays and lots of audience involvement. Yet it’s still “good clean fun”. Our group of girls felt very safe and welcome; respectful attitudes from all the staff. Great place to dance-dance-dance!

The ONLY bad thing i can possibly say is the bathrooms need to be bigger, cant even stand shoulder to shoulder at the urinals. Besides that. ..ROCKED! seen Ratt ft Decibel tonight. Audio was great (loud bass thumping) on first floor but muffled somewhat on the balcony. Drove over an hour to get there (my first time) tonight and will definitely be back

The Vogue is an extremely fun place to go if you are a white person. But for any minorities reading this review just be prepared to deal with some profiling as well as so blatant racism. The Vogue is a really nice venue they just need to treat everyone that comes in the same and not deny respect to the minorities that come to spend their money.

Ive seen several concerts at da Vogue over the years. Great venue. They were ahead of their time with non-smoking shows. Its big enough to attract larger acts, yet small enough to be intimate. Facilities doesnt get excellent because, well, its an historic building thats not dressed up trying to be an ultra-lounge. No pretense - it simply rocks.

This is by far the premier night club in Indianapolis over the last 20/30 + years... I Love this place... Best shows i have ever seen where here. ZAPPA, KING CRIMSON, GBH, RAMONES, FREDDIE HUBBARD, JOHNNY CASH.... I could go on and on... and MONDO MONDAYS were the BEST!

This is a nice little venue! Its not hard to find a great view of the stage regardless of when you arrive for your show. Seating around the outside of the room usually goes pretty quick. No thrills bar in the center of the building with domestics, Sun King, and liquor.

Small venue, wonderful for concerts!! Saw Yelawolf there last weekend and I was less than ten feet away from him the entire performance! Drink prices pretty normal for a club 5-6$ for well drinks any time Ive been fast and friendly service getting drinks as well!

Will never go back! Uneven floors... unmarked stairs.....poor lighting....no staff to assist....saw 3 people fall and badly injured.... paid for reserved handicapped seating and got a bar stool....reported to management....no response from management or owner!

Depending on the night, the Vogue is either a club or a concert venue. I cant speak for club nights, but the Vogue is a great concert venue. They get a lot of good shows, the acoustics are great, and they have reasonably priced drinks (for a concert.)
