I CANNOT STRESS HOW DANGEROUS THIS PLACE IS!!! I was their during the indy pride event and one of the gentleman in the bar working the door pulled a gun on another guest for no reason. The bartender working was absolutely WAY TOO MESSED UP TO BE BEHIND THAT BAR! She asked me and the other bar guests if we had cocaine. Telling everyone at the bar she had not left since 10pm the night before. She kept slurring her words and handed my card and receipt to another guest, too disoriented to know who had just paid their tab. Another guest came in asking for a drink and I recommended a double vodka. It was at this point she got in my face screaming profanity about "me and my orders". The guest who I had recommended the drink to defended me and it was at that moment the man working the door said, "how would you like a 357 magnum in your face?" And proceeded to pull out his firearm. The bartender, with my card in her hand, chased the guest out and tackled him to the ground, again for no reason. I called the police and filed a report. I am not sure if the gentleman or bartender faced any charges or repercussions. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT GO THERE!

Less than impressive. I went with my wife on July 3rd. The website said there would be live music, but much to our dismay the group had cancelled. This place came highly recommended and we were pretty disappointed. You would think in this day and age, the website would be kept up to date! There were also various drink specials advertised inside and they had apparently run out of the liquor! The service was okay and the place had a unique ambiance. We will visit again next time we are in Indy, hopefully there will be music then!

I didnt like my initial customer service. At 4:20pm I was told not to come in because they were still getting things ready.... Their sign says open at 4:00pm. Inquired about the time, the gentleman told me he was running late due to errands and still getting things ready... Why couldnt I come in? His attitude was like our party of four wasnt welcome? Needless to say we went somewhere else. Its was a weird experience.

This place has the cheapest drinks downtown by far that I have found anyway. They serve a little bit of snack food if you need a bite. Every night they have live jazz and occasionally comedy. Theres no cover charge they ask you to tip the entertainment. Its definitely a hole in the wall but thats part of its charm. A wonderful place to go out get a drink and be entertained without spending a fortune.

Guys in our group were legitimately fearful of falling through the floor while using the mens bathroom, the floor, walls, chairs, everything in this place indicated it was a dump...we were fine with it (except for the floor boards on the bathroom about to give way) until we got our bill for $10 a drink. Yah right. Not itemized, just a bill. No thank you.

The Chatterbox has a somewhat divey feel with a great atmosphere. If you dont mind getting there early or being left standing then one can partake in a wonderful jazz experience there. Theres also outdoor seating with a smoking area where one can have a somewhat quieter break while still enjoying the muted music going on inside.

This is a serious dive bar, but you wont find better live jazz anywhere in Indy. The beer is decent, the wine is okay, the cocktails are uninspired, the restrooms are small, and the walls are loaded with paraphernalia and graffiti. Hello, its a dive. With amazing music, friendly bartenders, and a respectable crowd.

So far this is one of my favorite clubs. Went to a friend b-day party. Its has a beautiful patio with lights, the inside is modern, clean the music is great. Great customer service. Sexy dancers. They give free strawberries dipped in chocolate delicious. Love this place. I was very impressed. Will come back again.

After my first stop into the Chatterbox, i decided that it would be a regular stop when I made my way to Indy and it has been worth it every time. After a dozen or so visits, all I can say is that its just a great place with great music and an amazing staff. If you havent stopped in, give it a try.

Excellent laid back bar with friendly staff and great live music. Free most nights, except weekends, where its a 7/8 dollar cover, depending on whether or not you use card or cash. Id definitely check it out as a place to unwind after a long day trolling around Mass Ave

This place is a gem. Intimate setting and real jazz every night. There are not many places left in the country like the Chatterbox. Be prepared to see some of the best jazz musicians in the world in their element. Oh and cheap drinks...
