Steve and his staff are great! I have had the pleasure of working with both Steve( the owner) and his assistant Matt basically weekly for the last 2 months. They are very knowledgeable about the saltwater fish world and freely share their knowledge to help you succeed. I am new to the hobby of a saltwater reef tank and I have lots of questions. These questions have always been met with a friendly smile and patience.. even when I might be a little over enthusiastic... I have only gotten great advice and friendly help despite me really not knowing much about what I am attempting... They counseled me to start small versus trying to up sell me a large tank or system that might have been a little much for the beginner. Reef Plus has an amazing array of fish, lots of outstanding corals and invertebrates as well. Great prices with great advice here locally in north Aurora!!! They are a great resource for supplies and knowledge and my tank would be a poor excuse for a reef tank with out them. Thanks so much guys

So I read the reviews and thought I would give this store a shot. It was quite a bit smaller than I expected and not a lot in the way of dry goods, but it looked well kept. The owner was there and seemed like a real nice guy. All but a few of the fish he has for sale have prices listed. You have to ask what the price is. I decided to get about 4 different kinds of fish and when I got to the register and checked out, he charged me higher than he quoted!? When I called him on it he seemed a little suprised and acted like I was the one trying to pull a fast one. It was very uncomfortable to say the least. It makes me wonder if his prices are on a sliding scale based on how you look or what kind of car you drive? Needless to say, I wont buy anything else unless the price is CLEARLY marked.

I have been visiting Reef Plus off and on over the past 10 years and when I was finally able to start my fist saltwater tank this year, I knew Reef Plus was where I wanted to start. Steve, the owner, and Matt are so knowledgeable and have helped me get my tank off to a fantastic start! Their tanks, fish and corals are so impressive--healthy and gorgeous. There are so many different opinions and bits of advice floating around the internet that it gets a bit overwhelming. Since I have been so impressed with Reef Plus, I made the decision to use them as my main "go to" for questions, livestock and advice. I have not been disappointed! If youre in Chicago or the suburbs, make a point to stop in. Its well worth it!

The knowledge the staff has is amazing; they have helped me get started on the right track to an incredible tank. Reef Plus is the best store around for all of your saltwater needs! This is the place to go! The prices are reasonable and I have found them to be cheaper than other stores and even online. They always have a great selection of fish, corals, and any accessories you might need. If you ever need help with your saltwater aquarium, the staff at Reef Plus is always there to help you and give you knowledgeable advice unlike some of the other stores which is why I keep coming back to Reef Plus. The service is top notch! A great quality store to shop at!

Went into store for interest in starting a saltwater reef tank. Staff was very knowledgeable and exceptionally helpful in answering all my questions. All the fish and livestock were very healthy looking and prices were the same or better than Ive seen at other local stores or online. Also have some very fancy custom steel stands offered made to order that definitely caught my eye. I have found my local go to store for all my saltwater needs and couldnt be happier...

Staff answered all my rooky questions. They have exelent livestock. Great prices. If your going to start this hobby. Come to Reef Plus first before you get started. I found a deal on a cheep tank and saltwater setup on cregs list to try to cut cost. Then i found Reef Plus to get livestock. I found out for the same cost i could have gotten a profesinal setup thats easier to take care of. You will save money if you start at Reef Plus

I love this place!! Steve is always working and the service he provides is second to none. I can count on him to have a great selection of healthy SW fish in stock. He carries more frozen food than anybody in the area. If he doesnt have what I want, he gets it for me in a few days. His prices are better than anybody in the area but still its the service that brings me back. Old School SW fish store done right!
