Whether its golfing with clubs or golfing with feet, this course offers a great family atmosphere for all to enjoy. The 18-hole, par 3 course is nestled between a pleasing Des Plaines neighborhood and Lake Opeka. Located, a few blocks north of Ohare, the course is relatively quite considering its proximity to landing airliners. Tee-boxes are synthetic turf made for regular golfers or foot golfers. The average hole spans roughly 60 yards. The first 9 holes play south, adjacent to the backyard fences of the neighborhood. The back 9 play north, adjacent to the lake, and winding back toward the clubhouse. If slicing is your problem, beware. You might be in for a long afternoon out of bounds. The drainage is sub-par after a storm, sometimes taking days for saturated soils to return to normal field capacity. Practice your putting at the practice green adjacent to the hole-1 tee box. Enjoy!

I am 14 and my friends and i are very avid golfers. We all have memberships to higher class place like mission hills, but for some reason i just love Lake Park. It has done some amazing things for my short game, I used to only be able to hit drives (I am 14 and can do 288 yards) but after playing at " opeka" for a month my short game was so much better my handicap dropped like 5-6! It is anamazing golf course for the price plus theres student and senior discounts! At least 5 stars 10 if i could! (P.S. Its great for any age my 4 year old cousin loves it too!)

I golf here an average of 10 times per summer. Its a quick play. 18 Par 3 holes. $10-12 if youre a resident, $12-14 if youre not. No golf carts here so you have to walk it and carry your clubs. But youll only need a 9 iron, a pitching wedge and a putter. The whole course you may walk a little more than a mile. They have a nice putting green and generally theres no wait to play. If getting a hole in one is on your list of things to do in life. Youll get 18 chances here so this is the place to do it.

The park is very nice, but renting boats is a joke. I reserved boats for a group of 10 and they made us wait over 30 minutes past our scheduled time. Then when we were finally helped, the staff did not know how to operate the boats and refused to maneuver the ADA boat so that we could get in without climbing over the seats (not ADA at all). For the high cost and the complete lack of assistance, its just not worth it.

May be a best place (in my opinion) to go for a walk or set your mind in the clouds when you feel like relaxing or need a breather. Every evening, you could experience an amazing sunset (may not be so amazing when its a rainy day) or enjoy sitting aside on benches and enjoy the view of the lake. Overall its a relaxing place to enjoy when you need to take a breather.

The price is right, the course is well maintained, the views are great, and it is a great course to develop short game skills and I love that I can bring my wife and 6 yr old son out with me...they can keep pace and enjoy themselves

I love this place because it has enough playground for kids, we bring our daughter to play and have fun. The view of the lake during the sunset is pretty. I am talking about summer though, I believe during winter it is nice as well.

Excellent little "pitch and putt" golf course - you only need a nine iron, a pitching wedge and a putter. While a little pricey, the course is very well maintained and can be completed in about one hour.

This is a true par 3 course. Longest hole is 115 so youll only need a couple clubs. I used my gap wedge primarily. Cheap and good practice. We got 18 holes in an hour and 10 min.

It is great! Fishing, biking, boating, a nice walk. Great place to relax not to mention they have a memorial for fallen soldiers from Des Plaines and green space and playgrounds

Lake Park is an excellent treasure. You can walk the paths, sail a sailboat, rent a paddleboat, golf and picnic in the same park. Des Plaines has a great park.

Lovely views! Be mindful of the weather, it really gets windy there at times! The park is a great place to take your kids as well.
