I will never go back to this establishment again. My group of 26 paid 1200 dollars to get VIP for my good friends 30th birthday. When we arrived at the club just before 11 the lines where long and we were told we had to split our group in half. Half the group could go in right away half would have to wait to go in. I was initially fine with this because I thought the club must be packed look at how long the lines are to get into this place. I was in the second group of people and when we finally were allowed into the lines, they were moving slowly but all of a sudden they lines started moving really fast. I wonder why this could be? Well it was because it was after 11:30 and everyone had to pay an addition 20$ to get in. So the entire second half of our group had to pay 20$. The biggest thing is once we got into the club after paying the additional 260$ the place was dead and no where near full. The promoters where purposely stalling the lines so they can rake in the extra 20$ off of people. I cant believe this is how they would treat people who would pay all that money for VIP. Once I finally got inside I started drinking and trying to enjoying myself. Our VIP spot was on the main floor but up 2 steps. Lots of people were standing by the steps and I was walking and talking and stumbled down these two steps. I put my hand out to steady myself and it landed on one of the bouncers. The dude got pissed and pushed me and started yelling at me. Its like dude common youre getting paid to keep your cool under pressure and when crazy stuff happens in the club and your going to flip your lid on me for tripping when Im drunk? My group will never go back this club after how we were treated by the promoters and management. If you want to get screwed over and pay extra $ go to Sound Bar in Chicago

HATED IT!! Worst experience ever. Ladies please read! If you dont want to be assulted by their own staff!! I went to this bar with my girlfriend for the first time Saturday August 24, 2013 because we were invited there. Not only were the men creepers and disrespectful, their own security team was worst! One member from the security staff, "Sam" (about 64), approached my girlfriend and I while dancing and grabbed our wrists very hard and pulled them upwards for no reason at all! Our first defense was to pull away and he grabbed us again while smirking and giggling after we asked him to let us go. Mind you we did not know he was part of the security team at this point. He then walked away grinning like it was a joke, never identifying himself. We saw his earpiece and realized he was part of the security staff. After telling management and head of security, they put us in a hall to wait for 30-45min. Then the club manager (who did not want to give us his name or identify himself) thought that by giving us our money back we were going to be satisfied, all mean while protecting his security staff member who thinks its ok to assault and grab women who come to this establishment. Mind you we did not leave until 6am after talking to Police and filing a report against him and the club. The manager of the club tried to lie to Police and say they were clearing the club initially thats why security grabbed us (which the club had not closed at this time), then they lied and tried to say he was was asking us about earings. Really!!! At least if your going to lie, come up with something better. Will never be back here again!!! Places like this should be closed down.

This place is a hit or miss. Some nights you go in and you will have a great time and everything will go smoothly or it will be a night from hell. The two levels with different music is nice if your going with a big group who prefers different atmospheres. upstairs is the edm/ dance scene, the downstairs is hip-hop. Typically if its just a regular night where nothing special is happening the place tends to be very dull and the staff/ bar tenders are mean. the bottle service there is pretty cheap so if you set it up ahead of time you have the potential to get a table in the city for 300$ which is actually a good deal. But if you do get a table you have to watch out for other people coming in the area and sitting at your table, which is annoying cause the security should be checking wristbands to get into the vip area which they dont. But if your going to see a DJ or a show you like than its a good place to go. If they have a big name artist there they tend to step their game up and make it pleasurable for everyone. lately I been going and they have been a lot better about drinks and getting you water if you need it (which is big at clubs that have producers come play for obvious reasons). They offer three free drinks tickets between 1030-1130 if you have a promoters password which is nice to start off the night. All in all its a good place to go if there Is a show you want to see, I would stay away from the place on a random Friday night tho, There are plenty of better options.

I met my girlfriend here, so Sound-Bar will always have a special place in my heart. If you know a promoter, not only can you get in free before 12, but they give you 4 free drinks (must order them before 12) and no, Im not a promoter. Otherwise the drinks are kinda expensive for what they are: not that big and not that good. You can RSVP for free entry before 12 on their website ($10 after). If you dont RSVP, its $20 cover. I asked them once at what time they stop charging cover... never. Its a big place with tons of people and 3 DJs going at once during most of the night. The volume upstairs in the main room is usually Dangerously loud, and I like the music downstairs or in the red room better and you can actually talk to someone if you yell. Downstairs tends to be more hip-hop and pop stuff, upstairs vocal house. The main alternative would be The Mid which is also $20 and comparably priced drinks that are a lot better. The downside of the Mid is that its too crowded. If you want to leave Sound-bar you might also consider Crescendo around the corner for Vocal House or Spy Bar across the street for House. Crescendo wont get going until at least 1:30 though.

I have no idea why people hype it up. Bartender downstairs was so rude and straight up said, "get tf out of my bar" she got a 5$ on a $10 drink and wanted more. Said it was rude to not tip well. Thats 50% but moving on. Getting in was a mission, we gave them the "password" for discounted cover that THEY TOLD US TO USE and they acted like they didnt know what we were talking about, whatever we got in. Paid the $20 cover for lame ass music, so packed in there and no A/C. We left so quick, go to Y Bar, Underground, or Prysm wayyy better. Better music, not hot, better service, better crowd. Anywhere that doesnt have that rude bartender is way better actually. Why is she still employed? Wish I could get my 20$ cover back tbh. Wouldve happily spent that else where. Bartender could maybe change careers. Dont waste your time in a trashy place like this with that trashy bartender down stairs. The two good things about this place was the bartender upstairs and leaving soundbar.
