Two different times we went, the security guards go out of their way to look for trouble. I yelled at two bonehead security guards and had to explain to them that their job as SECURITY is to SECURE the club, not try to start issues just because their bored. As well as made up amounts of cover to get in the club that they are pocketing on the side. We had 6 people and they asked for $100. So $16.67 per person to get in? Seems like a legit number. If you are an owner reading this, you need to be more involved directly with your business. Just because people flood into the club now does not mean they will continue to when treated like garbage by your employees. I watched a guy in the way of a bottle girl move out of her way after realizing she had been standing behind him for a few seconds unable to get through. This guy moved to the side and let her pass with no issue. 10 seconds later 2 security guards approached him and said "You cant put your hands on our bottle girls. You grabbed her by the hair" and then they dragged him and kicked him out of the club. Your whole staff needs to get their stuff together. Will not be returning here to spend my money again.

I want to leave a blank review, thats how highly i though of this place. Its everything i despise about pretentious River North venues. Bouncers are rude and clearly they have a certain look they are going for. Especially when all the people of color are left behind the velvet rope because they are at capacity or was it bottle service only or was it VIP only. IDK the story kept changing. Maybe Im being paranoid, surely it was my imagination you say. Hmmm after 30 mins of waiting a girl I know (blonde) walks right in with no reservation, table or bottles bought (I asked her so I know for sure). I guess she had the right look. I felt conflicted about writing this type of review but the message was very clear about who was and wasnt welcomed. Ive already given up too much brain power on this place considering theyll be closed in 2 yrs like every other wanna be upscale venue thats come and gone in the area. Id rather spend my time and dollars in a place that Im not made to feel inferior.

I had been guest listed for one of the nights they had a special guest performance. My friends and I were very nicely dressed and showed up to Shay. The security outside wouldnt even let us give them our IDs even when we told them we were on the list. We then tried calling management and no one answered. After we left a voicemail with our contact information, we never received a call back or even an email. They genuinely dont care about the people who come to their club and I wouldnt give a dime to them the next time I travel to Chicago. There are much nicer clubs that deserve your business.

Just went here last night to see about all these complaints. Im happy to say that I didnt have any trouble at the door, got right in. Door guys were definitely not rude. Once inside the building, it was packed! I couldnt believe how much fun this was compared to the reviews I had seen. My friend was paying for drinks so Im not sure of the price, but Im sure its an upscale place with prices that follow. The music was awesome! People were dancing and everyone was having a good time. I even made a lot of new friends!! Will go back for sure!

I was in town visiting and was referred here by a friend. My friends and I got in no problem, and the doormen were great and very kind. The staff at Shay could not have been more accommodating. The bartenders were on top of their game, and I never had to wait for more than three minutes before being served. The bartenders were also very fun and the staff looked like they were having a great time as well. I definitely recommend stopping here if you are looking for a good time and good drinks!

Meh. Just another River North bar that wants to be cool, but is trying too hard. Its a wannabe bar with a wannabe crowd that thinks theyre as cool as a New York or LA scene, but failing at it. $16 for mediocre drinks--- might as well take that $16 and go to Violet Hour where you can get some quality drinks. My bartender wasnt the friendliest, and didnt smile once, and just flatly said, "Its sixteen" when she gave me my drinks. Thanks b***h. I would definitely pass on this place.

Terrible venue. Dj was atrocious. They add tip to your Bill without asking. 3 dollar tip added for every 10 dollars spent. Ridiculous. And they pour less than a shot for mixed drinks (mixed drink was 15 dollars) and they charge 20 dollar cover charge for a venue that is dirty and doesnt even make decent drinks. Will definitely not be going back or recommending. Would give it a zero if I could.

Great crowd if you like fun and outgoing people who arent full of themselves. The music is really diverse and, although the dance floor could be bigger, has a cozy feeling. Bartenders can be really absent-minded and not tenative to customers but the bottle service was legitimate. Definitely a good place to stop in, especially when in Chicago.

The guy at the door named george who has a black beard &.manbun is extremely rude. This place isnt even all that & definitely not worth the cover. Poor bar service & rude employees. Got into the club & people were still uninviting and rude to us. GO TO A DIFFERENT PLACE. NOT WORTH IT

This Place does NOT even deserve one star. The bouncer at the front door named josh was the rudest person I have ever met!!! He was so disrespectful and making rude remarks to a group of girls. I would never try to go here again nor recommend anyone to either. What a waste of time.

The girl bartenders over charge. If you bring your wife like me, they really will make you wait. The Asian blonde bartender told me one price then took her own tip. After I caught her on it she changed the price and ranted for security to notice. Also heavy on the security.

The Music & Sound are the best to be found on a Wednesday in Chicago. The customers are pathetic in a funny way, mix of rich ass kids, sugar daddys and Upscale Gold Diggers. If youre just looking to dance, this place is great. Just make sure to dress Swanky :-)

I watched the bouncer let in three white women after checking their ID, but when I walked up I was told there was now a $20 cover charge and the tickets Id reserved previously were only to gauge interest. Dont waste your time.

If I could rate this place a no star I would. Worst fuckig customer service anyone could receive. I reserved a table and once we got there they said they sold it to another group. How do they even have business anymore.

Me and some friends checked this place out last weekend. Great place to get a table and enjoy some great champange. The atmosphere is awesome, great music, and the hosts are very attentive. Definitely coming back!
