I like the artists that play here, and I saw some really great concerts. However, Im still nursing wounds sustained from the last concert that I went to there over a month ago. I wont be going back. I was standing on the main floor to the side of the stage, and was hit in the face by a cell phone that I suspect was dropped from the balcony.I retrieved the weapon, I mean phone. I sustained a deep, bloody gash and my cheek was bruised for a week. My cut hasnt completely healed after a month. I sought medical attention from the EMT on site who really couldnt do much except wipe away the blood. I wasnt even offered an ice pack. I ended up missing almost half of the second set. When I asked bartender Kelly if I could receive some type of compensation - a free ticket to another show, anything- she dismissively pointed to a 8.5 x 11 paper on the wall that stated that concertgoers were at their own risk and Metro wasnt liable for injuries. At that point it was clear that Metro really didnt give a crap, and medically couldnt do more for me. I left with the phone because I didnt know what else to do with it. The next day Kelly called me asking for the phone, as this was way more important to her than the significant cut and bruise I sustained at the concert. The customer service here is the crappiest that Ive experienced. I would be reluctant to allow my child attend an all ages show here.

Spent $30 on tickets, had to find a printer to print them on, travel about 40 minutes to get there ($5 for trains there and back). Got my ID checked by 3 different people. Crawling with overbearing staff. 1 drink plus water was another $11, plus I tipped. A coke with no booze was $3 plus I tipped. Before the first band even started, my roommate came over and said "this place feels very controlling" which I was like "yeah, but whatever". We enjoyed the first band, then I went to smoke because it had been a few hours. But the staff were blocking the exit... I tried to go around them and they wouldnt let me out. They acted like I was stupid or something, pointing to a sign that said "no re-entry". Frankly, I didnt even know that was a thing. I still have my tickets and my paper bracelet, they can watch me walk outside and back in, what is the reasoning? So I asked where I can go to smoke, and they went about telling me how Im an addict and a bad person. Stay away from this place. Its expensive, the crowd is sparse and wasnt really into it, theyre condescending and controlling. I just wanted to have a few drinks, listen to some music, and enjoy an evening, pretty hard to mess that up.

I spent most of my early adulthood years going here, and honestly, even when I go now, it hasnt changed. The most recent show I saw there was Alkaline Trio, and it felt like I was back in a familiar place (well yeah, because Id been there more times than I could count). The staff knows how to handle the crowds, and the bouncers always do a fantastic job of stopping overly-inebriated youngesters from stage-diving and potentially damaging the performers. The only qualm I have with this place is the lack of space for sitting. Most of the time I try to get by the balcony (you have to get there really early to get a good place and dont expect to leave without losing it) where I can lean a little when tired. This is definitely a place you should wear comfortable shoes because you will be standing for extended periods of time. There is plenty of room for moving around until later in the show when it feels like packed sardines in the front. The music is awesome, the local bands are set up well, and if you dont want to destroy your hearing, dont stand by the speakers and use ear plugs.

We went for a concert which featured classical quartet and a dj. From the moment we stepped in, you could feel the concert vibe. It has been a long time since Ive been to a concert so the atmosphere got me pretty excited. There are 2 floors, the top floor has some seating with tables, for those who prefer to hang back and enjoy the show. For those who want to get right in the face of the bands, theres the ground floor where you can get right up to the stage. Both floors have bars so no worries about getting your drinks. It does get pretty loud, the acoustics arent that great. Even when we were sitting on the top floor right at the back, we still had to shout to hear each other. When the bass hits, the whole place shakes like an earthquake is hitting it. Overall, and a great place to go for a concert, its a no frills venue that makes the act the star of the show.

I frigun love the Metro. Its just a few minutes away from the Red Line which is nice. You can easily get back downtown if you need to get to the train station. (Thats what I do.) The venue itself is super cool. Its just a leap away from Wrigley Field. Inside theres a cool looking bar. (Cant say much about it because Im only 20.) The stage is up close and intimate. There is not a bad place to stand in this place. Theres also a balcony if thats youre kind of thing too. It very clean and safe. I didnt feel out of place or worried about my well being. The artists the get to come here are always great and if you have a spare night to just go see music this is the place to be. Its fairly cheap and you can discover some great music.

Smells, horrible sound, small weak drinks, no seating and security is a serious RISK. There was an underage person drinking next to me, and we both were thrown out. They thought I gave him a drink and I didnt know who he was AT ALL. I was thrown out in the cold wearing a dress. Im talking 0 degrees out and they wouldnt let me go back inside to get my coat, wallet, or phone. I was literally left out in the cold for a random person to pick me up (SECURITY RISK!!!) and take me home until I could come back for my stuff. When I came back, yes, only my coat was there. Phone and wallet were stolen. If something happened to me that night- they would have been shut down already. NEVER EVER GO THERE. SECURITY GUYS ARE DOUCHE BAGS!!

I am giving one star, because apparently zero isnt an option. My friend and I went to a show on Thursday and someone slipped something into her drink. She ended up passing out on the floor, injuring herself, but was thankfully found by a group of girls. I understand that security at the metro cant do anything about this situation now. The reason Im posting this on social media, is because I have tried to contact management several times since Thursday and have not received any response. It is very clear to me that they do not care about the safety of their patrons. Be careful people, this could happen to anyone. Security and management obviously dont care about what happens to you.
