As a new music venue, The Country is up against some veterans in the city. The nice thing about the place mainly is its location. Smack next to the Parthenon and a stones throw from Vanderbilt, this is prime real estate for anything. The place itself is well designed with a vast, dim interior, a nice bar, a stage, and lots of space for the crowd to dance. There are many beers on tap, but many of them are quite sub-average. I wish the owners got some more interesting beers. Or maybe they rotate. I just need to go back often to find that out. The sound quality of the venue was decent. Nothing to write home about, though it does lack the intimacy of some of the places in the city like the Basement. There is a large outdoor smoking/standing patio where one can still hear the music from loudspeakers while enjoying their smoke/drink. I think in a few years, this will be a stalwart in the live venue scene. For now they just need great bands to visit.

Great beer selection of local, craft, and national brands. The Cream Stout is fantastic. Great, slightly steampunkish space with diagrams on the walls and copper sinks. They host a lot of live music, from writers rounds to blues jams. Nice looking patio area also, with a ramp for accessibility. On warm days they can open the garage door in the wall to let the air in. It is honestly my favorite bar in Nashville, because even when all the seats inside are taken theres still room to move around and breathe.

Had higher hopes for this place. They had some decent looking cocktails listed on their web site but when we asked to see the cocktail menu at the bar the bartender rolled her eyes and acted as if we were annoying her then she said she never even looked at the cocktail menu before. When I asked for a beer that was listed on their website she said she never heard of it. There is a big disconnect between what they offer on their site and what you get when you go there.

Terrible service. We ordered 2 appitizes and had to wait for almost 2 hours before getting them. When we ask about our food the man was very rude and short and told us we would just have to wait. After reviving our food we asked the waiter a question and he looked at us and walked away. Very poor service.

Always a good time! Excellent music on the weekdays. Assume the weekends are even better. Clean, good happy hour and really great layout. Wasnt impressed by the one food thing I tried, being honest, but Ive only tried the one thing. Come for the music and the beers!

Okay drinks, but the atmosphere isnt great. It cant decide if it wants to be a country bar or a hot topic. Terrible food menu too. There are just too many other great bars in the area to recommend this one. Give it a pass, and check out one of the better options.

I came here to see Pet Envy and The Peach Kings. This is a great place to hear live music! The sound is terrific, the beer its cold, and the bartenders and servers seen like old friends. Hungry? Give the Korean tacos a try!

First time here. Asked a question about a beer and the bartender was a huge ass for no reason. Other girls at the bar commented that he did the same thing to them. Terrible customer service Maybe the music will be better.

Bit overpriced for what it actually is and offers. When its slow, the musical act on stage feels way too far from the small population at the bar. The staff are always attentive, food is adequate.
