I went here on a Thursday evening in July 2013 for Xavier Rudd. I am very impressed with this place. The sound was great. The staff at the front door was friendly, honest, happy and helpful. They nicely helped me twice with a ticket situation. The bar tenders were friendly. All staff seemed like respectable, real people. It was a very well-mannered and friendly crowd, but the security were also courteous and didnt seem like they were out to get you. This place was very very clean and looked very new. It felt ritzy inside, but yet so cheap to get in and bar-price drinks, not concert-price drinks. I will definitely be looking for future intimate music concerts here, despite driving over 2 hours just to get here. It is a small place, but the AC and airflow worked very well, so it was not stuffy. The general area of Lincoln Hall was nice and had a hip scene and there are also some nice little restaurants/eateries and bars very near. Plus there is a nearby free 5 hour parking garage on the same side of Lincoln just on the other side of Fullerton.

This is one of those unique venues that not only introduces Chicago to many up and coming bands but you can drink and get some food too. I always love seeing new bands. Recently "The 1975" played here and I was to late to secure tickets. I was so sad because they are so talented and tickets were only $17. They are one of my new favorites. Now I may have missed out on this show but I have seen other shows and attended events here. The drinks are always good but the food is not that great. Only eat the food if it is free or if you feel like you are going to pass out. The venue can get a little crowded. There is a main floor to watch the bands from or a balcony above. In the summer, I found the balcony to be a little hot. I guess the theory of heat rises is true for this location. So keep your eyes open because you will never know who is playing here. I also saw that there is a Pandora Station that only plays acts that have played here. I have listened to it a few times and wished I was here in person!

I have been to three concerts here so far. As a vegan, youll want to just stick to the drinks and show up full because the sweet potato fries are your only option and theyre not that good. As far as the drinks go, they are reasonably priced for a venue and college bar. They had coffee when I asked. The service was diligent but demand seemed overwhelming for them. The performance space as a whole is good but assumes everyone will pile in at once and be satisfied. Servers go through the crowd to place/deliver drink orders. On 2/3 of the nights, I ended up in front of the doors in the back, which means that there wasnt room. It seems that booking is either oversold, or they have a very generous understanding of how much personal space people are willing to give up.

This is my favorite venue in the city. Its intimate, but not too small and their front restaurant and bar is a great place to meet up before a show. Ive never been to the upstairs, but I imagine thats a really fun way to watch a show too. I enjoy the mac n cheese entree the most. Ive never had to wait in line to get in and the staff is very pleasant. I look at the upcoming shows here to plan out concert visits versus following my favorite artists because most of them end up there at one point or another!

The sound is this venue cant be matched. The space is small which means an intimate show. You can get drinks delivered to you in the venue (though you cant add to your already-existing bar tab unless you go back out to the bar). I saw Dan Deacon perform one of my favorite ever live shows here and got to meet him after the show. Theres a spot near the left of the stage where you can hang up your coat or throw it into a pile on the ground if you trust people and dont feel like checking your stuff.

This is the best music venue in Chicago, Id see anyone here just because I know it will be good. You can obviously see that the designers thought of everything when designing the space from the coat hooks at the back of the venue to the wide hallways and ample space around both bars. Its always clean, always reasonably priced and has managed to (mostly) avoid the scalper racket by not printing/mailing tickets and requiring a photo ID to match the name of the buyer.

Great addition to the Chicago live music scene! Modern venue (and bathrooms!!) with a very intimate main floor and great balcony views with food & bar service upstairs! Big bar out front, so you can actually get food (burgers, tater tots, flatbreads, mac & cheese) & drinks pre-mid-post show. Open until 3am on Saturdays, 5pm - 2am Sun - Fri. Recent Shows Ive been to here include: Chicago Bluegrass & Blues Festival (2010), Mike Gordon, Tea Leaf Green, Umphreys McGee.

This is probably my favorite music venue, and I always get excited if a band I like is playing here. No matter where you are, you can see the stage. Unless of course, someone really really tall is blocking you. Then you cant see. On a more serious note, I like it because Its a small, intimate and clean place and the bar is a regular bar with regular prices, unlike some other music venues that charge too much for a watered down Miller Lite.

Ive always been a fan of Schubas and so I expected to like Lincoln Hall when it opened but was surprised that it quickly became my favorite music venue in Chicago. Not a bad seat in the house (but Ive got my favorite spot to sit in the balcony for certain types of shows), and the sound and ambience are perfect. Throw in some great food if you get there early, and why not when they have so many great bands playing there?

Lincoln Hall is a great addition to the live music scene in Chicago. A big bar out front and you can actually get food out there fairly easy. I saw a fantastic Mike Gordon show here in November of 2010 the size of the venue is just right to have that intimate experience and the sound is always first rate. Good view and sound regardless of upstairs or down. Check out a show at Lincoln Hall when you have a chance.

Saw the California Honeydrops play here in September 2016. We were really impressed with the venue. Acoustics were excellent and the layout was great. Lincoln Hall was much classier and more well-kept than other music venues Ive been to in the past. The staff were really friendly, and the tickets and drink prices were very reasonable ($15 tickets and $5 or $6 craft beers). Would definitely go again.

Amazing sound here. The sound tech guy/girl is amazing, every show Ive seen here has been pitch perfect. Its such a tiny space, and they book great acts. Saw Foster The People here and now they are playing Congress, (my most hated venue) glad I saw them when I did. Drinks are cheap and reasonable and they have fun movie nights as well because it used to be 3Penny Cinema. Also they have free-wifi :)
