Irritating experience. For the price I paid I expected a better quality sandwich...the panini bread was hard as a rock and I couldnt even eat the other half. My friend had the same problem with their sandwich. Apparently theres a section where you get served by a waiter and a different first come first serve section ( with NO clear signs around). Me and my friend sat ourselves at a table and were eating there with no interruptions for a good 20 minutes until a waiter tells us to move to the seating where we serve ourselves.. so rude especially when the host and other coworkers failed to mention that and they clearly saw us sitting there for a long time. He should have just let it be and let us finish our meal at that point since everybody failed to be diligent anyways with that unwritten rule.

Overall: Location location location. The saving grace for the CW. 3.5 stars if I could The good: Like I said, the location next to the river in a prime riverside spot (compared to some of the others) is key. The service was hit or miss. Everyone is nice, but that didnt mean they were always attentive. The highlight for one stay was getting a free cheese plate when we had to move tables. The not-so-good: The biggest factor was that the food is incredibly expensive. Im used to loop prices, and this is above and beyond. The drinks are on par with the rest of the city price-wise at least. Like I mentioned, service was sometimes lacking. Atmosphere: 8/10 Service: 8/10 Food: 6/10

So apparently Jefferson Beach yachts rents the sidewalk from the city. I pull up on my jet ski with my girlfriend to get a bite to eat we get off of the jet ski and a guy comes up and says its $10 an hour to park here. She runs and looks at the menu and says this place doesnt have anything I want lets go somewhere else. This Kid says hes in charge of the doc and it cost $10 to Park. Explain to him that we werent parking there and he said its $10 to touch and go if you guys dont want to pay Ill call the cops. I said there are no signs anywhere that say that. He said the city wont let them put up signs. never had such a horrible experience.

I solely base this review during the lunch time. After docking off of the river and paying $25 per hour docking fee, my friends and I were starving. We all had sandwiches. Asked if the chips were fresh. Waitress said yes. They arrived in a bag. I guess she meant fresh out of the bag. Plastic forks. Plastic cups. Um... I thought this was downtown Chicago. We ordered gin and tonics. Those were good. And that was about it. Great location and view. I will give it another shot for some wine tastings and my stars may change. But that will have to be determined. Nothing memorable about this place so far.

This place is always packed and busy, which is understandable because the view is unmatched. Also a fun atmosphere with boats coming and going, and people walking along the Riverwalk. Their margaritas are amazing, and the food is good (tried the cheese board). There always seem to be a lot of cups and glasses laying around waiting to be picked up by the staff. We were not served once, even though we had a table, as we went to the bar to order all food and drink. Someone came around to take our glasses only once and we were there for a couple hours.

We wandered around to several other rooftops/patios before landing here. Such a fun vibe, live music and lots of people-watching and beautiful scenery right by the river. Food was really good and drinks were delish. Staff was kind, attentive and if you just hang out by the bar area where its open seating, eventually someone will get up and you wont have to wait long - lots of standing room, and you can also grab a drink and just go sit by the river on the stairs, so plenty of seating options if they are full.

A little crowded, even during the day, but the wine is good, and its certainly a nice place to relax. The "no alcohol beyond this point" signs dont seem to be enforced if youre at least nearby. Dont ruin it for everyone by being obnoxiously drunk on the sidewalk or carrying your drink down there river walk and getting the police to crack down.

What an incredible spot to eat, drink some fabulous wine/cocktails/beer, and relax with friends as you take in the gorgeous Chicago River! Nearby you can rent a boat, dock your own, take a stroll along the Riverwalk, or just sit and people watch for a while... absolutely fantastic!

The Rose is great! You can look around an see many people drinking that. Service is okay. Had one person come to our table and tell us he was our waiter, then had had another person say they were our waiter. Great for people watching or killing time before a dinner reservation.

If the weather is nice, there is always a wait. The wine is a bit overpriced here, $35 for 2/3 of a bottle of their steel barrel wine. Its not bad wine, but very deceiving. The food selection is very limited. On a positive note, youll have a great view of the river.

Their name is city winery but they were out of the wine we ordered! If you are looking for a meal this is not the place. $70 for two of us and left not full. Sandwiches were good but literally nothing more than sandwich on the plate. Very limited menu.

We waited for over an hour for an expensive sandwich which never ended up coming because we had to leave to catch our show. Good drinks and view but dont go there for if youre in even a mild rush for food because it might literally just not come out.

The view and the drinks were great. The food however can be improved. I had the Italian sub and it was just OK. If you are looking for drinks and view, this is a great place. If you are looking for food, I would recommend a different place.

Beautiful location beside the river, high stools looking out over a counter watching the Chicago people go by. Beer or Wine and food available. The beer is crafy and is good. The food i.e. the salted caramel icecream is just georgous.

Beatiful views of Chicago architecture while enjoying a refreshing beverage as we overlooked the many boats cruising down the river. Enjoyed watching the people and amazing yachts that parked to come have a drink at the City Winery.

The river Chicago trail is planned well and good place to spend evening with family. All river trail restaurants and other comercial establishment so. The river boating for an hour for about 50$was great experience.

Now that the riverfront restoration project is nearing completion, there isnt a better place to hang out on a summer evening. Grab a (mediocre) glass of wine and hang with good friends as big and small boats stop by.
