This was originally known as Meadowdale Raceway up until sometime in the early 70s?? This track used to draw big names & big name races as well! In fact, other than Sebring Florida, this is the only other track in the U.S. I believe that the feared Corvette Grand Sports ran in the mid 60s. Originally built as a Road Race Track, at some point they started doing Drag Racing there as well. I first saw it as early as 82 through the trees off of Rt. 31. A couple of years later being the nosy little twerp I was.. drove a friends Camaro back in there off of one of the back street behind the Mall & promptly got it stuck... and arrested...and a $450 tow. Now its a Forest Preserve & from what Ive seen over the last ten years or so its been that way - theyre trying to preserve it!! It was pretty bad back in the mid 90s - someone had gone back there & stripped off alaot of the asphalt there was no bridge across the ravine (which almost looks like it has been filled in a little), there were abandoned appliances & cars (some burned out) all over - generally not a good place to be. Now, its a really nice place to walk, ride a bike... I have taken my daughters (when they were little), my dogs, etc...

This place is great for hiking or biking. The mosquitoes can get pretty bad some days, so make sure to bring some DEET just in case. Its also HUGE! Its incredible to think that C-Ville used to have a real race track back in the day. I was thinking the last time I was here that it would be really cool if they opened the track up a few days a year for rally car or dirtbike time trials, itd be pretty neat.

Fascinating hidden artifact for those interested in 1960s era motorsports, while also a beautiful place to walk or run. The 3.27 mile long ghost track is mostly paved (including sections of original paving), and signs claim the straightaway was the longest in the world when built. Track has extensive flat stretches, but eastern-most portion in woods is curvy and hilly for some great cardio workouts.

Amazing dirt trails with ridiculous downhill turns. I was there on a Thursday 5 to 6 was fairly busy but area is huge so you got plenty of room. So many offshoots that let you see some cool scenery, but the real draw of this place is the dirt trails through the woods. These are not for amateurs but Id still recommend it to anyone that is in decent shape and to thrill seekers. Will go again. H

Bike trails here are EXCELLENT! Gravel, packed dirt, sharp turns, totally windy down and up...intermediate to novice level, great cardio workouts here. Hilly and not to hill-billy!

Good cross country single track! If you want a speed fix the paved downhills are a blast. Paved track originally ran clockwise. Lots of speed down, cardio climb up!

This place is awesome! from the almost completely paved "ghost track" to the double track and single track mountain bike trails. Its a ton of fun!
