Hosted my sons birthday party there over the past weekend. The party was located inside the facility and was due for a 3 hour span of time. Unexpected gas leak happened and had to evacuate the building and they were unsure if we would be able to renter for the party. We moved our party outside and continued on. 30 mins later they informed us we could re-enter and I would be given a refund for the party and they still took the time to bring out the animals I asked for. I was very pleased with how apologetic they were and accommodating for the situation! Would defiantly recommend a birthday party there even under the circumstances we had a blast!!!

My visit was not all bad, but seeing certain animals in such a small environment is truly depressing. My girlfriend and I couldnt help but feel bad for about a quarter of the animals kept there. Such a place should not keep large animals in such tiny enclosures. Many animals there need to be transferred to a proper environment. Seeing bald eagles with their wings clipped and fat from lack of exercise was probably the most memorable of my bad experiences. Great for people who cant, wont, or dont realize what these animals truly need, but I would not recommend this place to any informed animal lover.

Its a nice zoo, but there are problems. Im usually not an anti-zoo person, but the size of the exhibits for the animals is very small overall. Some of the animals on display have very large natural territory (such as the snow leopards) but with the tiny size of these exhibits, I am really worried about how stressed the larger animals might be. The leopard cubs especially were acting stressed. I cant see how healthy a big animal like a tiger or leopard can be happy living in cages smaller than my own apartment. The meercat exhibit is smaller than my bathroom.

Its a perfect small community zoo with bigger animals than youd expect! There are lions and sun bears and seals and sea lions. But the coolest was the wallaby area; you just walk in and bam! There are wallabies 2 feet from you in the same space. The sea lion and seal feeding was a lot of fun, and the laughing dogs were a hit with the kiddo too! It wont take all day, but thankfully there is some great playground equipment next door!

I believed that this experience was ok. My only complaint is last time I went, the roaches escaped and I stepped on approximately 4 of the roaches and saw them being consumed by the meerkats. My last complaint is a saw two sea otters in an intense, underwater brawl, it was entertaining to see the otters fighting, but its not a good message to the kids. 3 out of 5 (:

Great little zoo. Even though you need to pay to get in its not much and it goes to help take care of the animals. They have a good variety too. You can easily spend a three or four hours there. The snow leopards are very active and fun to watch. They have a good reptile house. It has an area in that house where kids can be hands-on with educational puzzles.

Went to a wedding here in the pavilion. The pavilion is very nice, with gymnasium quality wood flooring, two stories, great natural lighting from all the windows, and a lake view. This was a great place for a wedding, and I could see it being very suiting for other big events such as birthday parties, retirement, work/club gatherings, etc.

The staff is amazing, and the animals even more amazing! (Ive been so many times, i know most animals by name.) I do recommend going in the warmer season if you have children so they can go to the petting zoo and feed the goats! Theres also a room where you can feed the budgies out of your hand! Lots to explore!

Great place for family. The zoo is a good for family visit. Nice park to walk in and spend good family time. Can barbecue? Bring family and friends for a fun time. My one year old love the water splashes and fountains. Not to forget the pontoon boat, simply nice.

Really enjoy this zoo! Its small enough that you can take the family and go through the entire zoo before they have a meltdown but its big enough to have a decent variety of animals. In addition they are expanding and improving constantly

This is a great place to take your little ones especially in the spring and summer time, cause they have a splash pad, park, and mini golf right outside of the zoo. So you can go to the zoo, then go do all the other stuff love it.

My friends and I found this zoo too small for animals to thrive in - we found that animals were scratching at walls and clearly didnt want to be there - both of my friends left crying out of sadness for Gods creation

Theyve made some wonderful improvements to this zoo over the past 5 years or so. The animals are well taken care of and they have helpful staff and volunteers! The rainforest exhibit is a favorite of mine.

Really wish people would say better things about this place. Yes it may be a little run down, but theyre doing the best they can. If youre looking for a good zoo this or Peoria are great for the area.

The people working there take time to interact with visitors and answer questions. Endangered species living there give people an opportunity to appreciate diversity in the animal kingdom.

A great place to take kids. Lots of animals for Bloomington normal. Very impressive. Always clean and great staff. Not a large zoo but great for a 2 hour adventure. Highly recommend.

This zoo has been there since I was a little kid. I do wish they would move their big cats to a more spacious zoo, they truly do not have enough room. The rest of the zoo is great!!

Staff is nice, most of park was under construction. Would have been nice to know before hand. Been there once before and it was fun, hoping the construction brings out the best.

Small zoo with some rare/endangered species not found at larger zoos. Indoor exhibits include rain forest and animal building. Classes and education classes for age 3 and up.

Weve been to the St. Louis, Columbus, Cincinnati, & San Diego Zoos and this Zoo had the most active and entertaining animals of them all! Extremely friendly staff as well

Very welcoming ideal for children. Then habitat settings are cool, and the array of animals is decent. Theayground outside is an attraction in itself as well.
