The zoo was a great zoo, but there were a couple things that really made us upset. The interaction with the animals was great. Our kids loved how they could feed and pet and get up close to so many animals. They got to interact with rabbits, goats, bunnies, tortoises, dear, a baby kangaroo, giraffes, parakeets, and even feed apple juice to a bear. That part was great. However, the price gouging was out of control. First of all, it was fairly expensive to get in, but that price alone would have been worth it. But the food to feed the animals was ridiculous. I expect to pay something, but it was $4 for a tiny bag of food. There were food dispensers for the goats for $.50 but you got barely enough to cover the palm of my hand. $5 for a tiny cup of carrots for the giraffe. $2 for a small stick to feed the birds. Once you are inside with your kids, they try to get you at every turn to spend more money. The other thing that made me upset was the price of the human food. I understand zoo food is going to be expensive, but we paid a lot of money for small portions of crappy food they warmed up in a microwave. If you are going to pay that much for food, at leave give good quality food. The straw that broke the camels back was that there were no water fountains anywhere in the park, and the vending locations charged for tap water. Really!?!? You cant even give water away on a hot sunny day? You are going to make us pay to let our kids drink water? That is crossing a line in my opinion. Its too bad because it really is a great zoo, but they need to be more reasonable about what you get for the money.

Its a nice place. The animals seem well taken care of. One thing I would like to gripe about though; dont charge for cups at concession stands. Im all for making money, but I brought my family of four to the Zoo and spent around $200 between attractions and entrance fees. Not cheap but who cares? However, when I purchased some food at the food court by the giraffe exhibit, I asked for cups to serve the bottled water I had just purchased. The teenagers working the stand apologized as they explained to me that they needed to charge me for the cups; as if it was their fault. Obviously these teenagers realize that this is both contentious and a poor business decision but they are only the bearers of bad news, not the decision makers. I expected to see some fancy cup seeing as I was being charged for it, but no! I received a wax covered paper Pepsi cup that I am certain the Zoo received gratis for their exclusive use of Pepsi products. Why is this bothering me? Im not sure. Im not unhappy with all the other charges that we ran up. It just rubs me the wrong way that what they received for free they are going to charge me for after Ive spent quite a bit of money already. Maybe Im just upset they put these teenagers in an awkward spot when they certainly dont need to.

Been going to this zoo since I was a child. But now that Im older I realize how terribly sad some of the animal enclosures are. They have gotten too many big anIm also and dont have very good set ups for them. I think the Bears are the saddest. Small concrete jail cell is what it feels like. An employee said they have been in there like that for at least 20 years. And when I commented on staff about the big animams and how sad it is for them in such small concrete enclosures, you could tell with their response they felt the same way. But its their job so I guess they cant say too much. Now, as far as smaller animals and deer, they have it pretty good. It seems like once they tried getting tigers and bigger animale it has gotten more expensive, and they are getting the big ones just to make more money. I would loce, love, love to see some care put into these enclosures, especially the bears. Its so sad.

This place is so much fun for adults and children alike. The price of admission for adults is a bit pricey but Id rather pay more for a place that treats their animals well. The bag of critter food is also a bit pricey but if you are reserved with how much you hand out, itll last a long while. My fun tip is to toss the kibbles for the otters to chase. They are such fun critters who love the attention. It is also worth the $1 to get some bear juice and feed the bears. Not an interaction that you can experience in many other places. I highly recommend visiting this animal park and enjoy playing with some fluffy critters.

This was a pleasant surprise for myself and my wife with our 10 month old. We were expecting a petting zoo, but this was a full-fledged experience. Not as extensive as a big city zoo, but it makes for that with open areas with free-roaming -nonthreatening- animals such as deer, goats, tortoise, and some other small critters. It really made it feel more interactive. There were plenty of exotic animals to see as well. Tigers, panthers, tamarin, zebra, and plenty more. It was a fantastic way to spend 2 or 3 hours. I highly recommend this place.

I dont always give zoos a 5 start but this is a great zoo! This is so hands on and very clean! You get for what you paid for. The food and ice cream was good! My favorite part was feeding the giraffes and getting a kiss from them. This is a great educational place for children too. If you want to teach your child a lesson while at the zoo read all their posters and do the nature walk. I am so please with this zoo and will be back!

This is a privately-run world class zoo hidden away in northern Wisconsin. It has many American and exotic species, and all seem to get exceptional care and attention. There are few zoos in the world where you can get so close to the animals, or feed so many different animals, including the giraffes, parakeets, deer, bears, camels, and trout.

A great place to get away for the weekend. Animals are all around. Able to feed most. Prices are fair. 15.00 an adult. It helps to take care of the animals remember. New exhibit in 2013 with giraffes should be exciting. Great for kids and familys to get away from a busy life and electronics.

Ive been to a lot of zoos. This particular zoo is unique and refreshing. We had a great time feeding the bears and giraffes. Staff was friendly and cages were well kept. You get very close to the animals. There are free range deer everywhere that have no fear of humans. Will go again.

Great fun! I must say that even though the Milwaukee County Zoo is far larger and more funded, the Wildwood Wildlife Park is the best zoo in Wisconsin. Numerous opportunities to interact with the animals in person. Great educational keepers willing to answer any questions.
