I decided to try this place just to see what else is out there, besides the local petsmart, petco zamzows etc. They had very little freshwater fish the selection was ridiculous. The employees knowledge on fish is even worst and I cant understand why they even sell freshwater fish. Customer service was the most pathetic! I was looking around at some fish and literally 15mins go by and not even once was I greeted or asked if I needed any help. Keep in mind the store was empty maybe another customer but thats it. So I was on my way out the door and someone decides to ask if I needed any help with anything! If you want a really great store so far the best in Idaho, go to Boises Freshwater Aquariums! They have an amazing selection of freshwater fish. The tanks, supplies, food everything is reasonably priced. The customer service is top notch! These guys are definitely knowledgeable and have the 30 yrs of experience to back it up. Way to go BFA!

The minute I walked into the store with my two children, I had an older lady JUDY, who claims to be the owner, yell at my youngest to not touch the fish tanks and proceeded to tell me "I guess now I need to put up a sign to tell parents to control their children!" Then I waited for over 10 minutes w/o any help from the 3 employees in the store (there were no other customers). When I called to complain the same lady answered the phone and told me I needed to learn how to control my children! I couldnt believe this and not having done anything wrong, my child was excited to see the fish but did not touch or break anything, I should not have been treated this way and hope other customers are not talked to in this fashion either. No wonder no one ever goes in that store! Sad thing is I would have rather have shopped at a local business, but ended up at PetSmart where I received excellent service from a gentleman named Vic!

I have been going here for years I consider Bill and Miles friends, these gentlemen are very knowledgeable with Fresh, Brackish, and Sea specimens also corals both hard and soft. One of the most note worthy pieces of information that you can come away with after reading this is, the fact that they are not out just to sell stock, if they have something for sale but know that your particular set up isnt right for it, they have the comon decentcy and honor to tell you the truth so they are not out just to make a buck. Listening to what they are telling you is key. I will comtinue to go there although I may have four other places closer it is well worth the extra distance for the quality service.

The first couple of times that Ive gone to this store the people where quick to judge my mother and I as just looking around. We asked alot of questions when setting up my saltwater tank and got help from really only one guy. After about the tenth visit the other workers and the owners became alot nicer and really took their time to help answer our questions, run to all the different tanks and explain what something was. And help us with just popped into our head questions. Yes the owner lady doesnt like kids to touch the tanks but she has signs up everywhere saying that. So its common sense, parents. Otherwise I find this store to have very knowledgeable employees and willing to help.

These guys are amazing. Definitely the people who you want to deal with for serious aquarium supplies and knowledge. This is a fish supply and equipment store. I have been recently re-building my 55 gallon set-up and with their help and knowledge I am happy to say I am well on my way to putting together the best set up I have ever had. They have the most fish of any shop I have ever seen here locally and receive shipments weekly. They do the best to research and find out about special selections and their advice on equipment, water treatments and fish is second to none. They are happy to help any and all who come into the store. They have earned a lifetime customer.

Just make sure you ask for help! These guys are often busy ensuring the healthiness of their stock. Really the only place in town to get special freshwater fish so if youre looking for something unique this is the spot. Check them out on Fridays if thats what youre looking for. Most of their freshwater stock comes through on thursdayish. Ive become a planted tank enthusiast thanks to Bo and the staff at f.a.a.s. Thank you fish aquariums and stuff for all of your help and helping me develop a healthy hobby that has had a positive affect on my sense of discipline and responsibility.

1. The lady up front is nuts. Do not go if you have kids. She will follow you and judge your every movement. 2. I feel like Im at a pet rescue when I go in. Their saltwater selection is sad. Everything looks like its dying or on its last leg. So much so, their own "display" tank crashed because it didnt want to be there. 3. $.29 for rodi water. Come on. Go down the road and get it for free, plus see vibrant corals. 4. The lady up front is a nut job and down right rude. Everyone else is nice, but she ruins everything.

This is probably, hands down, the WORST fish store I have ever been to. Prices on supplies arent too bad. Avoid buying tanks or dealing with the uninformed staff at all costs. Selection of fish is pathetic. I dont care that the people are nice...dosent mean they know squat...cause they dont. They wont even sell any used equipment because "its unsafe and will definately break and ruin your house" Go to a really good fish store (havent found one in Boise yet) then go here and you will see what I am talking about.

Ive been a customer of Fish Aquariums & Stuff for a couple of years now. The staff is very knowledgeable and the selection of saltwater fish is great. They are more than willing to order fish, too, if something is not in stock. The best part, though, is that they stand by their products. I recently had an issue with my tank and the owner was extremely professional in dealing with the situation. I was so impressed that I decided to write this review.

We have gone to Bill every time we have had a tank. Im so thankfull for Bill and his help with our new tank. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. His beautiful tanks have been there for as long as I can remember going in.. 7 + years... And if you can find something cheaper.. Just remember you get what you pay for. I have learned that lesson. This store is awesome and they are the best.

This is a fantastic shop. My children are building a fish tank, they are only 7. The staff is knowledgeable, patient, and willing to work with my children to create a happy and healthy tank. They have an amazing selection of freshwater fish (saltwater, too) and all of the fish that we have brought home have thrived. Highly recommended, I will not purchase fish anywhere else.
