To me it seems the owner of D&K cares more about making a buck then the well being of the fish. There was disease in most of the tanks. The owner seemed eager to sell me fish that were obviously really sick. It is sad to see fish kept in these conditions. Makes you wish you could take them all home to rescue them. The prices of most fish were not marked so anytime I was interested in something I had to ask how much it was. This was very annoying because the owners breath was unbearable to say the least. At one point the owner quoted me a price on a fish, then when I tried to purchase, he attempted to raise the price by ten or more dollars. When I called it to his attention he became extremely irate, yelling, cussing, and calling me names. I have never dealt with anything like this in my life. No matter how bad I wanted the fish I couldnt support a place that conducts business in that manner. I will avoid D&K at all cost and recommend that everyone else do the same.

Healthiest and most colorful freshwater fish store! I was looking for healthy freshwater fish for a new 25 gallon aquarium I had set up. This place had the healthiest and most colorful freshwater fish selection available. The service was outstanding!!! The owner was not only very friendly, but also very patient in answering all the questions I had regarding the different types fish. Every one of his tanks was super clean, with beautiful vibrant colored fish. I didnt see a single dead fish, as Ive seen in many other aquarium stores. I came home with a few beautiful colorful healthy African cichlids, which are all doing well in their new home 3 months later. Im a very happy customer and will definitely keep coming back!

This is absolutely THE BEST and healthiest place you can buy your fish!! All the thanks are pristine and the entire shop is inviting and clean. The owners are very helpful and really care about their fish and their customers. I just love them!! They are the home of happy fish!! p.s. I just saw the only one star review of several years ago and found it is so off the mark. This is the only place I will ever do fish business with. They are just perfect, in my opinion :-)

Quality, healthy fish. Shop is clean and well cared for. Ive gotten over a dozen cherry shrimp from here and a lively mystery snail for my tank. My boyfriend got a couple of male powder blue Rams and theyre still going strong a couple of months later. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This is now my go-to place to purchase any fish.

This is the best tropical fish store in San Diego. Its extremely clean, and has a huge variety of tropical fish and aquarium supplies. The owner is very poliet and very helpful, as well as very knowledgeable. Not a single dead or sick fish in this place. I highly reccomend this store to anyone interested in fish keeping.

Awesome store. Awesome selection of freshwater fish. Today I brought my son in and we got to see some fish get fed. The young woman there was so nice and sweet. And the man who helped me was definitely knew what he was talking about. Im only bummed I didnt get pictures

Healthy and rare fish found here. Got my red and gold severum where I cant find anywhere else in San Diego. Also got a Flowerhorn Kamfa which I hope will turn into a beautiful mature fish. The Discus are high quality. Im tempted to start a 3rd set up....hmmm

Very friendly owner and fish are healthy. Always gives " special" prices... im pretty sure everyone gets them but its cool. They also have really cool drift wood pieces.

Great service, really healthy fish. I bought my red tail catfish, and tiger oscar fish about 2 weeks ago their doing fantastic. Love this place if anything 10/10 rating.

Amazing goldfish! If youre into high quality goldfish, theyve got them. Especially ryukins and black moors. Also lovely crystal shrimp and tiger stripped nerite snails.
