Went for the kids, ( 10 and 14) they had a great time! I didnt realize I would enjoy it so much! I think my wife enjoyed it the most though, because she will be getting some nice stones out of the deal. We started with the standard gold pan and bucket that you get with admission which was a great price. The gold panning was neat to learn, but didnt yield much a few flakes each. The gem bucket yielded a little more and even though you know its just seeded gems, you still cant help but get excited at what you might uncover. We found some neat stones and got hooked. Went back for the 5 gal. bucket and found some really nice large stones, an emerald, rubies, sapphire, aquamarine, amethysts and other assorted gems (see pics). This is a family owned and operated establishment Tony, Tammy Ray, Brianna and the rest of the staff were all pleasant and very helpful. Brianna was very helpful and patient and is finishing 3 stones for us from one amethyst that we got. I based which mine we were going to visit on positive reviews and I was definitely not disappointed. I can see why they get the reviews they do.

I may be helping this mine Long story short - not short Im black, I went to this mine to enjoy myself and find gold. Outside I converse with two white guys and they say (this mine has good gold -its awesome ) they allowed me to look at the $90 tractor scoop of dirt while poiniting out specks of gold .. I go in [ALL EYES ON ME] I speak to an old white guy about the gold he says they have good gold here if your a member . He also said if your not a member its still good gold . So I buy $90 scoop take it home and pan it 20+ gallons of dirt and find this [see picture] Old white guy opens sluce box and you see pickers, flakes etc Guy brings be sand thats been already worked [ the sand have that 8% of gold that people miss , wet - sand that he got from the tailings of other miners , and have little to no black sand If you are black please do not visit this play spend money another mine Ps crisson mine Im doing you a favor (keeping blacks away )

I have been going to the Crisson Gold Mine since the late 1980s. Tony and Tammy are always very nice and helpful. In October 2014 my wife was on her way home from Florida and stopped to get me a 1 gallon concentrate can. I panned it sitting in my living room in Ohio. I am currently writing this review from my hotel room in Dahlonega where my wife and I arrived today. We checked into our hotel, unloaded the car, and headed to the Crisson Mine where I panned 2 pans since it was getting late. Going back tomorrow morning for the tractor scoop in the trommel. I have found gold with every visit to Crisson. Highly recommended.

Disliked is unfair. I get the idea of bringing kids and letting them sift sand. There was a group visiting today and they had a blast. Me . .. not so much... Look , I know Im not getting a large nugget or anything like that . Im the dude that ponied up 45 bucks for the entertainment part of it, but the reward was a few flakes for my bottle. Shame on me for not getting the 6 dollar deal I suppose. The staff was super nice and helpful but I dont see the draw. Take the little ones and let them mine for gems.

I went to crisson gold mine and did a tromell. Its a machine that they load with a tractor right in front of you. you stand there and wash the ore down to the tromell and it seperates the sand from the gold. I found two nuggets and about forty little flakes of gold. The boy that works at crissons was very helpfull and explained every thing very well. For sevendy-five dollors i though it was well worth it. If you are looking for a great mining experience and nice people go to Crisson Gold Mine.

recently purched the 1 gal. pail of super high grade sand. I must say I got some very good flake out of it. There was absolutely no sniffer pcs in the entire gal. and the black sand was almost non existant. This tells me one thing, and if you know anything about gold panning, then you know what that means. I did get 2.3 grams out of it, Not my moneys worth.

Went to Consalidated first and had a great time, tour of the mine and the people were friendly and helpful went to Crissons and its was way too expensive, outside, no good lighting to pick gold out. The people were not friendly or helpful. Would not reccomend to anybody especially with children!!!!

For us it was fun , was shown how to swirl the plate and how to extract the nugget flakes from the mixture, even though I was with a mobile walker I could still Pan Fer Gold ...might want to spray for chiggers in the sand .....lots of them ....

My family and I had a wonderful time here. The workers were very sweet and helpful while we panned for gold and mined for gems. A few of us also ordered some jewelry to be made from the gems we found and we cant wait to see it!!!
