First, none of the kiosks to buy tickets were working, so we had to stand in a long line for tickets. Once inside, we went through two parts of what they call the "guided tour" and then the self-guided tour started. We then waited in a long line to get to get into the "vault of the secret formula" which was quite disappointing. And, as we tried to leave that exhibit the doors got stuck and we were locked in side for several claustrophobic minutes. Next we entered the tasting room, and while we there, the cleaning crew was mopping floors in the tasting room. I was holding my infant and trying to taste the soda, and a man came around the side of the drink fountain with the mop and said in a rude tone "Maam please move." That, coupled with someone talking over the loud speaker where you couldnt hear yourself or people with you, the tasting room was a very unpleasant experience. We also visited the Coke store as it is your last stop on the tour. Meanwhile, it started pouring rain. The World of Coke Security was called into the Coke Store and started yelling at people that if they werent shopping they had to leave because their presence is a security risk. Literally, they were making people go out in the pouring rain. It was pathetic. I couldnt believe my eyes/ears. I have been to this museum before where they gave you a glass bottle of Coca Cola as a parting gift. On our visit on Memorial day, we were not given anything as we left... I guess they quit giving away a bottle of Coke to visitors. That seems really sad/cheap, esp since admission to World of Coke is $17/per adult. Last but not least, my father is in a wheelchair, which on the World of Coke web site it stated that wheelchairs are available at no charge. The problem is that the wheelchairs are at the front door of the museum and theres literally no parking for at least 1/4 mile from the front door of the World of Coke. Trying to drop off the disabled visitor is more than a challenge too as signs all around the World of Coke say "No Stopping or Standing." How are you supposed to get a person with a disability to the museum? Sadly and surprisingly, not a disability friendly place to visit. All in all, the whole visit was a huge disappointment. I would expect Coca-Cola to do SO MUCH better at their "World of Coke" museum. A world-class beverage represented by a low-class museum in downtown Atlanta.

“Things Go Better with Coke” For Coca-Cola drinkers, history buffs and collectors, this is the place to be. I visited the museum years ago when a special machine caused the product to spiral up, arc and land in your cup from a distance. It’s no longer part of the show but the rest of the museum is fun and informative. The stop here was part of the birthday two-week road trip with my nine-year-old grandson. He learned the background of a product that has been a part of his life unbeknownst to him. Information is now presented not only in film, but through interactives, seek and find ventures. You can view the vault that holds the best kept secret in the world at this museum but dont touch unless you want to wind up on the NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt. My grandson’s favorite area, Pop Culture Gallery, allowed him to design his own bottle through “My Coke Art.” Once he completed it, the finished product was displayed on a large monitor for others to see. I enjoyed the Coca-Cola bottling room, to learn the details behind the final product seen on store shelves. It brought back memories of a grade school field trip to a local Coke bottling plant when they were allowed to do cool things like that. The highlight of the trip for most people is the “Taste It” room. You can try flavors from all over the world of various Coke standards and new products at the tasting bar. It was interesting to find some flavors that were too sweet or bland for me that are popular in taste for people in a particular country. A trip to the World of Coca-Cola is not complete without a stop at the gift shop. When the clerk found out that my grandson was celebrating his birthday, they called everyone at attention and did a shout out in the store. Everybody say “Hey!” Overall: Great way to start your introduction to Atlanta. Go early in the morning. We beat out the crowd that arrived as we were walking away.

If you are visiting Atlanta, you must visit the World of Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola is about as American as apple pie and baseball. And, if you are visiting – you should splurge and pay for the VIP Guided Tour – and yes, it may be more than double the cost of general admission. But it is worth it – especially if you love individualized attention and anything Coca-Cola – plus, it includes some free souvenirs – which is great if you love collecting stuff, and if not, sell it on eBay. They give you a lanyard as you are walking around on the tour, and after they give you a VIP Tour Coca-Cola pin for the current year. Be sure to arrive at least 15-20 minutes in advance for your VIP Guided Tour – they start on time – and you don’t want to miss anything. Arriving early will allow you to take plenty of photographs in the foyer area where they have Coke bottles throughout and are playing videos all about Coca-Cola. There is also a kiosk where you can sign up to join their newsletter. In our group there were only 4 of us and the tour guide – so we had a lot of personal, individual attention. Our guide was knowledgeable and we were able to get a lot of great photo opportunities that didn’t appear to be available to general admission tickets – including our photo with one of the Coca-Cola characters. We spent a good three hours (if not longer) there at Coca-Cola touring the facility, tasting different sodas that Coke distributes all across the world, and then shopping around their massive store that has everything you can imagine slapped with the Coke logo on it. My favorite part would probably be the movie, the vault, and the tasting room. It is a great experience and I highly recommend that you visit should you happen to be in the greater Atlanta area.
