Ive been coming to this bar for almost a decade - even made it a point to stop in, every time I visited Sarasota after moving to Manhattan. This is by far my favorite place to drink, anywhere. Ive traveled quite a bit, and I can say that Cock & Bull Pub is right up there with some of the best beer gardens in the world. The ultimate beer selection, very reasonable prices, amazing staff, awesome events, great bar food, and a very welcoming atmosphere. Over the years the bar has been updated and expanded since moving to its current location, though it has always retained its defining qualities. The bar has also become somewhat of a music venue, and quite often has live music in the large outdoor area. Also, I dont recommend trying one of the soft pretzels with beer-cheese, they are not only delicious, but highly addictive...

I am happy to had found a great pub like Cock n Bull... I had learned allot about beer style from the many visits. It was like a home away from home, with tons of beers to choose from and knowledge to gain. In which, I completed the alchemist program! The staff was not always the best at service, especially if the did not know you. They use to help me to find the perfect "beer" / fit for the evening. I use to suggest CnB every where I go when I lived in Sarasota. Overall, I still visit the place but certainly not as much and defiantly dont appreciate or enjoy it as much as I use to. Have yet to find someplace like CnB up in Raleigh.

I have never eaten here but have spent "plenty" putting down a few choice-select beers here. Atmosphere feels very European. Charming interior Bavarian architecture. Service is good considering every beer loving person staring at 500 beers in a cooler and drooling over great tap beers is like a kid in a candy store. Making up ones mind is overwhelming. College crowd has found this pub, which speaks for its hipness. Parental escape from the suburbs is greatly appreciated if you live out near east of I-75. Still the best in the area as they have been since 1997. Best selection by far (well over 500 different brews plus sake), most knowledgeable staff. Live, local, original music, massive fire pit and beer garden. Ive been to all the others, some I still visit occasionally, but "The Bull" is head and shoulders above the rest. Not a chain, you can actually carry on a conversation (unlike World of Beer), they carry Florida beers, national craft brews and plenty of great imports. Howie and the staff will gladly help you find something youll love regardless of how many times youve been here and without attitude.

This is the best Beer place ever. Take it from me, I have been places but they cant stack up to this place. The OWNER does some of the bar tending and really knows his stuff.Howie. Tell him a favorite beer and hell find you something that is way better. Come with deep pockets though, they can be a little pricey, but this is not your frat boy party house. This is a place of tranquility and paying your respects to the beer gods for such a awesome place.

So my wife and I had time to kill before our dinner res and we were looking for a place to get a drink. We found this place. Well, I can handle that it must have been Bronie night with the neck beards out in force, but when we sat at the bar a large Palmetto bug crawled across the bar and just under my wifes arm! I flicked it off the edge to the floor where it ran. Im all done. Will not return.

Dive bar with a good selection of craft beers. Very friendly bar tenders and a nice atmosphere overall. Probably the best beer selection in all of Sarasota. Has a fire pit, but the bathroom is terrible. Dont come here if you need to take a dump, the door does not lock and also has a huge gap in it (on purpose). Would give this place 4 stars if it had a proper bathroom.
