I have been to the Urban Farming Institute several times and thought I had found a reputable and experienced local shop for my hydroponic / soil grow needs. BUT, things changed the last couple of times I went into the shop. First, there were people in their demonstration grow field area that were totally snappy and rude when it came to looking at the plants and how their grow operations work. Why would an operation named an institute not want people to learn and observe real hand on how things work? It makes no sense to me. It all came to an end for me with the Urban Farming Institute when I ordered a large product that they did not have in stock. Jon assured me it would be in stock in a week or so, so I said OK I can deal with that. He also said he would call when he received the product. I started calling him weekly when the product didnt show up after 2 weeks and he once again said it would come in that week and he would call me. Well, after 3 weeks of me calling him, he said he would have the product in 2 days. I was happy, but it all went out the door when I called to confirm it was in the store Jon let me know that the product did indeed get there but he had sold it to another customer. Talk about lack of professionalism ... I am taken aback at the lack of customer loyalty this place has and the lack of ability to properly fulfill their word on fulfilling orders. After I had waited a month for the product and (I) called weekly, I was jolted in the end when the product ordered for me was sold to another customer who was their with cash. AN UNETHICAL CALL ON URBAN FARMING INSTITUTE.

They need to hire a new volunteer coordinator, I applied a month ago at the city hall (spending both the time and money to visit their institute) and sent an email inquiring about volunteering. Ive heard nothing back since. If this is how they treat their volunteers than they shouldnt offer to teach people at all. I know I have a clean background check as I participate in several other volunteer organizations in the area. Rude, unorganized and inconsiderate.

Very knowledgeable & willing to help ! Only place open on Sundays and for a rookie like my self I was able to get what I need it to start a little indoor system with Jons help. Amazing!

Great garden center. They offer soil sampling, and if you take them up on it bring at least 1 cup of aoild for them to test.
