Beware the attacking raccoons!! Do not bring food to the beach! It costs $8 to get in which isnt worth it at all unless you really like lighthouses. The beaches in Crandon Park at the top of Key Biscayne are way nicer, cleaner, and larger and its cheaper to get in. Also the raccoon problem is a joke. There are no signs anywhere about these rodents in the park yet they are absolutely every where and they literally run up to you on the beach if you have food and will steal food and slash at bags while you are holding things and trying to shoo them away. They arent cute, they are just dangerous. What if they scratch or bite you while they are attacking you for your food? Its possible, and they can carry diseases. Thats no way to relax on a beach especially after paying $8. It ruined anytime trying to relax on the beach as youre too worried about raccoons sneaking up behind you trying to steal food literally from your hands. Shame on the park for not having any warnings about this or at least saying food is NOT allowed on the beach! Stayed for 30 minutes and left for Crandon. Will never return to this beach unless they get rid of the raccoons.

This is an absolute perfect place to take your family, and spend the entire day. There are nature walks , the beach is huge, clean. Parking is very close. Piers, perfect place for pictures. The light house built in 1825 is the oldest in Florida. Canoe , kayak , bike rentals. Perfect for snorkeling, even for teaching kids to snorkel . Take a little bread or chips with you to the beach and the small fish will eat right out of your hand. Restaurants and a cafe. BBQs , if you like to grill, and plenty of picnic tables under gazebos. Just dont forget your Mosquito Repellant!! Florida is known for its mosquitos. If you need any assistance the park rangers are always available and willing to help. And Boy Scouts , dont forget to pickup your scavenger hunt and patch at the entrance. Ohhhh and fishing is great. Almost forgot to mention, sea turtles!!!! {skulld3str0y3r 3142} ~ follow YouTube

“Beach.. Sun.. White sand...all near to lighthouse. What a postcard scene.” Its in Key Biscayne area, 20-25 miles from Miami. $8 is the fee for entering in the island. There are 2 islands near to Miami, Virginia key and Key Biscayne. White sand... Calm and peace... Soothing waves... less crowd- scenic beauty... Palm trees at the beach making it more beautiful. Perfect picture scene. Water is clear and looks greenish under sunlight making it desirable. asking you to come, have fun in the water... Shower facility is there at the beach and its clean. This is not very popular or big- wide beach like other Miami beach..but it has its own charm... Less crowded... Nearby grilling machine... Come with your stuff. Grill meats... Do fishing... Its all picnic and all in and around the beach... Shore area is small but enough to have fun. Very clean… Water is clear Take pic having a lighthouse in the background.

Demasiado tranquilo, natural y familiar.

They ask for $8.00 to allow you to enter, but nothing else is said or offered. I guess I was expecting a map, brochure, or to get asked if we had ever visited the park. The park is nice enough and has great vistas of the water. The lighthouse door was open, so I went in and stood there for a few minutes reading about the lighthouse. Next I here someone say, "I guess you dont give a damn about anyone else." Then I notice a head on the side of the doorway in forming me that there is a line. When I exit I see the rangers shirt. My wife later in formed me that there was no visible line and the ranger had been sitting off to the side and never informed me of the line. In fact he took quite a long time to go to the door and be just plain rude. So much for diplomacy!

I read about the bike path along the water on the state website and decided to check it out. We went in the late afternoon so it wasnt too crowded and rented two bikes. Baskets are optional and the seat is adjustable. There is a paved path which is shaded but doesnt always give you the view of the water. The unpaved path is a bit rougher but the view is worth it. From the parking lot if you go left you will hit the lighthouse, which was closed by the time we got to it. To the right you bike along the water to the harbor past the grille all the way to the entrance. We had the bikes for an hr and went along the path twice with lots of time to spare for scenic pictures.

Well known for its tennis tournament, the island of Key Biscayne also features a state park with a beautiful white sand beach - wild and not too busy. A large white lighthouse to climb , plenty of space for picnics and fishing - youve got yourself the perfect setting for a break out of the citys noise. Best for : beach, outdoor, nature Entrance fee : $6/car ($2 for pedestrians) Open daily 8am-sunset Better come : in the morning to be alone Have a drink with a view at either of the two cosy island cafés by the bay ($/$$): Boaters Grill - No name harbour Lighthouse Café - 1200 Crandon Blvd
