This is a very scenic course with plenty of mountain views and a challenging layout. Conditions were iffy - unfortunately probably 6-8 fairways had large dirt patches, and it did not seem like any sod or seeding was happening. Perhaps the costs are prohibitive, given that fees are economical... but there were also odd potholes off to the side here and there, which would only have required a bag of dirt to repair. At least the greens were generally in sound condition. The layout has some tight doglegs, especially on the back, with no chance of recovery if you are off line from the tee due to the dense woods. Some tee shots were close to blind an there isnt much marked to help out first timers - wouldnt cost much to make the effort in this regard either. Worth checking out, notable for the great views of neighboring mountains. Not bad.

The golf course, greens and fairways were aerified the week of Sept, 18th. Everyone possible was notified and a discount was offered. For someone to say the greens and fairways were in terrible shape is completely unfair. They were aerified , which is a common maintenance practice , that doesnt make them in bad shape. No one was forced to play and no one complained other than this gentleman writing a bad review. Everyone was also told before they teed off of the conditions. I have had nothing but complements this week on the golf course. Sorry Mr. Lazarus did not enjoy himself . I would be happy to reach out to him if I had a contact number . Jim .

Wow...what a golf course. A mountain course with lush fairways, soft sands, and some of the best greens Ive had the pleasure to walk on let alone putt on. If you cannot concentrate on your game it could be the beautiful views you get when you look down almost any of the fairways. We golfed in the early summer so everything was bright green against the Carolina blue skies. I can only imagine how beautiful it will be in the fall. It would make a great golf outing with the Inn at Blue Ridge right outside the door. If you want to golf the mountains, this is the place.

I absolutely love this course played in November and the course was in great shape! The staff was friendly, the pace was fast. There is a little something for everyone here. I am playing somewhere else tomorrow and I feel like I made a mistake. There was a major flood not to long ago that washed away a green or two but it only made the course more challenging. Lee Trevino had a hand in this course and he should be proud of it. Cant give it a 5 because Ive played the revamped pinehurst #2 and that is 5 stars but this is a fabulous course!

Played this course over Christmas with my son and really enjoyed the round. The layout is challenging but fair and there are no gimicky holes that detract from the experience. Even though it was winter the fairways were decent and the greens putted true. The new owner has put a lot of work into the course and it shows. Looking forward to coming up again in the Spring or Summer and playing again. This would also be a good destination for a golf getaway with a group since you could stay in the adjacent Inn at Blue Ridge.
