So I take my girlfriend to this place, and were really excited about its delicious sounding menu. We get there and are seated promptly, thanks to Disney reservations online. Matt is our waiter. He stops by gets us waters, and says hell be back. He seems like a really nice guy right off the bat. We order our appetizer, the spicy fried calamari, and it gets to us overcooked in a way that effectively makes the dish nothing more than pleasantly breaded squid jerky. I didnt say anything, though, because Im a nice guy. We order our entrées. I get the jambalaya bayou bowl with shrimp, and she gets the soul cluckin good with the mac & cheese and butter crushed Yukon gold potatoes. My jambalaya is excellent. Not too spicy, not too lame, nice big pieces of sausage, shrimp, and chicken. But my girlfriends chicken was also overcooked in a way that made it look as if a chicken McNugget was surrounded by breading the size of an orange. The meat within was dry and chewy and unacceptable enough to make me talk with Matt. Her sides, however, were delicious. They deserve five stars. Matt ended up not only comping us our appetizer and the chicken. He also gave us two souvenir mason jars, when we were supposed to only get one with our drink order. I had to tip him for the comped items, too, because he was such a nice guy. I ended up giving this place two stars because of the food quality and just straight up disappointment, even after the comping. As graduate students, we dont have money to splurge on dinners too often, and we were really counting on this place.

We had the pleasure of dining at this establishment while it was "down" with a burst pipe, still leaking w/ damage related to such. Bad timing.. but we already had reservations made out 4 days prior.. no one called us to update us on the restaurants situation, so we had no idea until we arrived. Fine.. well still eat.. since they "allowed" us with a reservation for approx 3pm. The hostess was quite short and rude.. and cut me off multiple times while I was inquiring about our reservation. No smile, just a "follow me". This is not spelling DISNEY for me yet. They had a small room in the back that could seat about 7 families that they had open for dining. It did smell wonderful! I ordered the shrimp and grits ($ 20 plate). It had 4 shrimp (yes, 4, NOT jumbo.. just medium/large size) in a yummy spicy cream cause atop a yummy grits fritter pie thingie. It was good, but I was hoping for more for a $20 plate. Also, my husband had to send back his rack of ribs, as they were so burnt to a crisp.. he could not get the meat off. They did send them back without issue, and 20 mins later (after we were dining) he received a new place of unburnt ribs. They were "okay"... they could have been much better for a Disney dining restaurant! VERY unimpressed. Our waitress was nice.. but a little flighty with a side of N.E. coast attitute. I suggest to dine ANYWHRE else if youre looking to dine in DOWNTOWN DISNEY! I dont want anyone else to overpay for a meal you could get better, cheaper, and with better company at a roadside BBQ smoker.

The house of blues is an awful awful venue. The entire place is generally cram packed with rowdy annoying aggravating stupid concert goers. Ive seen MANY bands at this place and refuse to go back. Even once, my girlfriend was attacked by another female because the females crazy husband was cornering her at the bar. My GF told him to back off and his insane wife tried attacking my gf three times. The insane white female lunged at her three times with TWO males holding her back. The bar and security staff at the house of blues response? They tried to kick my GF out for being viciously attacked by a psychotic drunk female and did nothing about the female b/c she was white. My gf is asian- so HOB motherfukers are not only stupid but they are racist too. The last show I saw there was colbie caillat and only b/c my friend had a seat. Even with the VIP seat there were still rowdy idiots grabbing the back of the seat. The show prior to that was chevelle where my gf got attacked by a white b*tch. I refused to see breaking benjamin at this awful place, and even hard rock is packed and both venues do suck but id prefer hard rock. HOB is the worst and never again...racist rude dumb security jerks, and overcrowded venue with rude orlando punks acting like idiots. They also host a hospitality night where you can hang out with moronic disney employees who are idiots and its a club atmosphere- that too was awful. The entire venue is just bad, and wont be going back ever..

This review is for the CONCERT VENUE, not the restaurant. We attended a concert headlined by Nightwish with Delain and Sabaton in May 2015. First, the positives. The venue itself is actually set up pretty well, most spots inside are probably decent view. The air conditioning system worked well. The sound was good, lighting good. I liked the smaller size of the venue. On the negative side, Im fairly certain they oversell capacity, maybe not to the point of breaking fire regulations, but certainly beyond the point of comfort. All of this is livable and the venue could have gotten a five star review if not for my biggest complaint. Despite being in line a half hour before doors opened and an hour and a half before the show started, staff did not get the crowd admitted into the venue quickly and we missed most of the opening bands set. This is unacceptable. With an hour before the show to get the crowd admitted into the building, there should be more than enough to get us all in before the first band takes the stage, even if said crowd is in a line that wraps around past Starbucks. Disney is well-versed in handling crowds. Its what they do. Staff needs better training or better procedures to make sure no one who is there before the show starts misses even a minute.

My first time at House of Blues. My son and I went to see Stryper. I was impressed at the efficiency of entry and the politness of security. I was hoping to have arrived earlier to get better seating since the tickets were general admission. We found a standing spot upstairs with a good view of the stage. I didnt have any food or drinks so I cant comment on their quality. My son was not happy out spot was near the door leading to the smoking deck. The smoke kept being pulled into the room and it was very strong. I was a bit disappointed in the technology. For one, the close circuit TV that is focused on the stage is very low resolution. I was close enough to see that band, but I still expected a nice HD video of the performers. I was also surprised at the low volume level. I normally wear ear plugs at concerts, but found that I didnt have to wear them here. The sound pressure level (SPL) of the bass was also extremely low. I didnt get the feel-it-in-your-chest kick drum experience that I enjoy at concerts. All-in-all we had a great time. Easy in. Great show with decent sight lines, crisp audio, and well-mannered crowd. Would definitely attend a show here again.
