My family was visiting from S. Fl. So I wanted to take them to a place that would be unique and not corporate. We were thete on Sunday, near closing time (30mins). We were being told no more sitting. We actually only had time to do take out, to eat before our airboat ride reservations. 2 of us ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with the addition of grilled onions. We were encouraged to have the homemade potato chips. Our food came without the onions and the chips were very hard, over cooked. Bun not chabata as stated. Mayo was homemade, so that was nice. Service was terrible. For a small new bistro, you would think they would be interested in making oyr food and service excellent. They didnt want to grill the onions we ordered and didnt receive, after we noticed they werent there..everyone just wanted to leave. In the up side, the decor was very cute. They sold some local honey, soaps, etc and a little bit of touristy trinkets. They have repurposed wood,a Butterfly garden down one side screened in and some educational signs, and a back porch. They open on Wednesday for lunch and close Sunday at 2, I think. The owner? said they serve what is in season and Any meat that is hunted locally , I assume. I like and try to live the philosophy of Lower Carbon Footprint, but it may be just a theory, here, at this time. I know others that have had a better experience..so I would try it again.

While visiting friends in the area from Los Angeles, I had the good fortune to stumble upon the Greenhouse Bistro & Market, and it reminded me of the type of restaurant thats popular in California but hard to find in many other parts of the country. It might seem a little pricey to some, but the quality of the food is well worth it, and I would never be able to find the same type of cuisine at these prices where I live. On my first visit I enjoyed the pecan-crusted rainbow trout, and it didnt disappoint. Fortunately, I was able to return for another meal during my stay, and tried the filet. Normally I would order a steak cooked medium, but the owner, Craig, assured me Id be better off with medium-rare, and I have to say he was right on; it was far and away the best steak Ive ever had, and I know Id be hard-pressed to find a filet this good anywhere else at twice the price. Also, thought Im not much of a drinker, they seem to have an interesting assortment of craft beers available. I was really surprised to find a gem like this in Homosassa, and I hope the locals recognize its value enough to become regular customers so that I can eat here again every time I visit!

Let me start by saying I am a Celiac. It is extremely difficult to eat out and in the 9 months since I was officially diagnosed I havent eaten out more that a handful of times. I called and spoke to the owner before hand as I was traveling and wanted to secure a place to eat before we arrived. Not only did they assure me they could accommodate my illness but they provided amazing service, and the food. I cant say enough about the food. I dont think I have ever had such a great meal even before having to go gluten free. Thank you so much for making my boyfriends birthday so special and making sure I didnt get sick. The wine was so good, I may have had a few too many because the selection was fantastic. I will be making that 3 hour drive again, this time just for the food. If you havent been, dont hesitate.

First off Billy Bob Thornton hiding in Homosassa isnt fooling anyone. That being said, I moved to Homosassa in March and never really liked heathy food. There are very few healthy and good restaurants here because its a travel destination so I thought I was in heaven. So when one day my wife so kindly pointed out I was a "fat bastard" I said I would try to eat healthier. I have enjoyed eating at the green bistro at lease 1 to 2 times a week since. Its healthy and tasty. Its not to big so you can talk to whoever is with you. The staff is very helpful and alway try to get me to try new things. Crieg "a.k.a Billy Bob" is always engaged with the customers. Going here has me eating a little more heathy at home, which my wife loves. Hope this helps. Thanks for reading.

First off- Gluten Free is so difficult eating out, so anywhere I hear has options we try. This place is not only GF friendly the staff was friendly and our server double checked to make sure when we had questions- thanks Kevin!!! Yes our bill was a little pricey but between 4 of us we had a glass of wine and 7-8 beers. Was about $150 for lunch but my daughter-in-law who is also GF had a pasta dish that was so tasty we were worried it wasnt GF!! But it was! I had the Waldorf salad and my hubby and son had lamb burger and the game stuffed peppers! We all shared food it was so tasty! This will be a once a month family trip even though its quite a drive for us it is so worth it!!

We went up brunch a few weeks back at The Greenhouse Bistro and Market. This place had great (natural) food, super service and atmosphere like none other. I highly recommend dining in the butterfly garden area. The kids really enjoyed that. The Greenhouse Bistro has an eceltic wine & beer selection. It was a dining adventure. Speaking of adventure, The Greenhouse Bistro and Market has partnered with River Adventure Tours for paddling pleasure where they provide both rental and launch opportunities. These are both, and individually, well worth the drive.

Was invited here for my birthday brunch. Was a surprise and a delight. From the caterpillar terrarium to the butterfly garden, the meal, the friendly service and the walk outside to the springs...made for a memorable "celebration". Felt like a child again, watching the butterflies flitter around, such fun to have a "show" while eating. The food was presented beautifully and tasted good. Blair was informative and helpful. The desert (chocolate chip cheesecake) was divine! In all, was fun and a great "gift". Thank you.

oh, what a sublime experience I had last night dining at this FANTASTIC new place!!! Ideas on the menu are just off the charts, and the quality could not possibly be any better...... Ill never eat a steak anywhere again but here! And the apps and the deserts...... ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Plus theres an ultra fun decor! This is a pearl of a place in the middle of Citrus County! Well be back and well bring more friends!

My experience was horrible. I got a turkey club, one piece of bacon, a micro slice of avocado and two slices of tomato no bigger than a silver dollar. And their artisan bread came from subway. Just a sad sandwich for 12 bucks, not to mention $3 of a 8oz diet coke. Our bill for 2 salads and sandwich was over $50 bucks. Its a want to be trendy restaurant in a metal building,, I give it maybe 6 months.

Nice decor and service was ok. The problem is the food is well intended, but poorly executed. Undercooked stuffed peppers, spinach artichoke dip that has so much feta you cant taste anything else, mixing things like shrimp with overpowering other ingredients like feta. Really wanted to like them, but they really need to take some cooking classes and rethink how they pair things together.
