Oh my gosh - you cannot beat seeing a show at the Goodspeed. The theater is small, intimate and every seat gives you a clear view of the stage. Yes, there is a majestic stair case to take you up to orchestra seating, but just around the bend there is also an elevator - The staff is extremely accommodating to your every need. The most important aspect is the quality of the shows - I have not seen one show in the many years of attending that was not top notch from the acting, choreography, staging, singing, costumes- all with a live orchestra - Broadway at its best! Just attended Thoroughly Modern Millie - a "funtastic" show - full of great music, comedy and superb acting - Highly recommend you put this wonderful old opera house on your bucket list - you wont be disappointed!

If you enjoy musical theatre, there is no better place. Goodspeed is the home of the American musical. Theyve sent 21 shows to Broadway (as of 2016) and they produced ANNIE. They produce some of the best regional theatre in the country. The Goodspeed Opera House is a beautiful historic building, and the location is breathtakingly beautiful. Dont miss Goodspeed Musicals if you are visiting Connecticut. It is the top artistic attraction in the state.

Have been a subscriber for many years. Productions in general have been excellent with few exceptions. The historic setting of the theater, and its building overlooking the Connecticut River make for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I heartily recommend the Goodspeed to all who love good theater in a wonderful atmosphere

Beautiful six-storey opera house that has not hosted any operas. But is famous for launching a number of musicals and went on to become major successes at Broadway including Annie. Did not get to experience a musical this time but hope to return soon.

A very special place - beautiful theater, great and picturesque location. Beware a LOT of stairs - even to get to orchestra seats. They put on extremely well choreographed and professional productions. Highly recommended!

I found the Goodspeed Theater smaller than I thought. It actually helps to make a great ambiance and bring the show closer to the public. I recommend this unique experience!
