A cautionary note, unless its is an event running after dark I do not recommend hanging around the area after dark. family has been attending events at this location for over 40 years. Facilities include: Bicycle Veladrome, Ice rink, Indoor pool, Full sized half pipe skate board ramps and skate park, A stocked lake that allows swimming and boating (seasonal), Jogging path, Sand volleyball courts, Tennis and Basketball also. There are playgrounds stocked with traditional equipment. The firefighters and Unknown soldier memorials are also located in the park. Centrally located, minutes east of down town Colorado springs. Numerous events are held there year round. Plan on some parking issues not too so wear comfortable shoes, this is usually during larger events so plan accordingly. Otherwise, come and enjoy.

Not a location youd expect to find an awesome resturant, but you never know so we gave it a try. Fist we had spring rolls; these were good and of a decent size but it was disappointing that there was no veggies other than lettuce in the rice paper wrap. Then my seafood pho came out with a beautiful array of extra veggies including carrots and broccoli. The broth was delicious and the perfect temperature, when thin rice noodles and a generous helping of meat in the dish. My fiance had a sweet and tangy kiwi Boba which was presented beautifully with little chunks of fruit in it. All in all, the food was delicious and the wait-staff was really on their game keeping up with the dining room. We will certainly eat here again, and try out their free delivery service!

I am absolutely disgusted right now with the parks maintenance! Theyre "supposed" to be holding an event and NONE, ABSOLUTELY NONE! of the port a potties have toilet paper and all the public restrooms that ARE stocked with toilet paper are closed because of the event. Then they charge parking in FREE PARKING areas on the OTHER SIDE of the park that has NOTHING to do with their event $10 or $20 to park when people are trying to take their kids to the park! Accomadate EVERYONE! The city makes PLENTY of revenue off the marijuana industry on top of TAXES that everyone pays! Instead of trying to make a quick buck take care of your citizens! Its absolutely disgusting!

Memorial Park is a really refreshing place for the middle of the city. Although its not the most clean or in the best neighborhood, its a good escape from the day to day. I take my daughter here. Sometimes we will play on the playground or play on the shore line of Prospect Lake and other times we will walk the sidewalk then take a break and have a picnic. There are options here for sure but make sure if you are on the shore to check the sand because I have found fishing hooks and other harmful things laying out. I always make sure the area we are in is picked up before we start playing and Id recommend the same.

I went specifically to watch and photograph a sunset and my experience was amazing. The park was clean and the people you ran into were so courteous. There were picnicker’s, joggers, talkers, lookers and walkers. I enjoyed my visit with the duck and geese. The suns disappearing rays and it’s reflection off the water was calming… just what I needed. I stayed even past dark because the full moon was out and I didn’t want her feeling jealous that I hadn’t photographed her so I did. Memorial Park fills all park needs!

Nice recreational area that is in town. Good sized lake for water activities such as fishing, boating, paddle boarding, and swimming. Nice playgrounds and picnic areas. Awesome skate park, ice rink, and tennis & basketball courts. Generally an amazing recreational area that is right in the center of town. I also enjoy coming to the events that are held here such as the balloon glow, spring spree, movie under the stars, and of course the Fourth of July fireworks.

Es un lindo lugar para pasar el día en familia, lo único que no me agrada es el mal estado de los baños, están sucios y nunca tienen agua . Pero hay juegos muy divertidos para los niños y un lugar agradable para pasear.

One of the nicest city parks around. Lots of things to do...ice skating, skateboarding, basketball courts, grills, shelters and picnic tables, a lake with swimming, fishing and small boat access. There are plenty of playgrounds, workout equipment and walking trails. In addition, there are many festivals held throughout the seasons, including the Balloon Classic. Love sitting by the lake in one of the big swings just taking in nature and sometimes a sunset

Nice park, however they should ban motor boats there its way too small and they drive way too fast, sucks if you want to kayak, swim or tube there always getting waves. Also they need to enforce dogs on leash there, its out of control, dogs chasing you and other dogs including them swimming in the water, plus people seem to not keep them under control. Besides those two things and all the drug dealers an homeless it could be an awesome park.

The park is descent at day, but gets sketch when the sun goes down. Surrounding areas, where you park are NASTY! Empty dime-bags, half eaten food, trash everywhere...even a dead raccoon...all quite gross. considering Its the main park venue for the city, youd think there would be daily clean-up during things like the Labor Day Balloon Launch...but I guess people are OK with it. Not sure if well make the effort to drive down next year.

Its a public park, so obviously it wont be perfect, but its all right. Taking a lap around the lake is very pleasant, and the playgrounds are solid. There are some decent tennis courts and what have you, as well as access to ice skating and other amenities. The number of monuments this and statues that is a little annoying though. It feels more like an eccentric back yard for obnoxious patriots than a park sometimes.

This was a great park when I was growing up. But now I dont know why this park would have the same rating as Monument Valley Park, I feel generally unsafe here after 4 pm, crowds of people smoke weed in the west park, where kids are playing. Homeless man asked for spare change while I was walking around the lake with my 5 year old nephew. There are multiple shootings here a year. Theyve got great play places though...

Walking trails, broad fields, and Prospect Lake are fairly nice, though its not necessarily the best part of town. Typically better during the day. On the years that they have 4th of July fireworks, it can be really entrancing to watch up close (but you pay for it by having to deal with parking and traffic during events like that). They have various other events throughout the year that are worth considering, too.

Memorial Park should be a great place to go. It isnt. The park itself is very nice. It has a velodrome, skate part, and a host of other activities. The problem is it just isnt safe. Shootings and assault seem to be something the park cant get away from. In my opinion it just isnt safe to be there with your family. It does have a great view of Pikes Peak and the parking is not terrible. Your mileage may vary.

As others have posted, the homeless and drug use here detract from the experience but the park itself is top notch. The loop around the lake is great, tons of beachfront for swimming, and one of the best playgrounds Ive ever seen. More than enough tables, benches, and places to grill. My family would be here all summer if there werent as rough as it is.
