A nice museum to spend an hour or two at. Free admission! Nice docent. Perfect activity to feed your brains on a rainy day. They are opened on selected days of the week and limited hours. Would recommend to check online before heading down. There are ample parking space right in front of the museum, which is always highly welcomed. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by two docents. We signed in and was surprised that one of the docent offered to give us a tour. Started with a 5mins introductory video which was very useful to provide context as we explored the museum. They had a grand piano and have some volunteers who would pop in to play for the visitors which is really a very nice and sweet gesture. Despite being a small museum, we spend more than an hour going through everything. They have an upper floor which has special exhibits occasionally. Unfortunately, during our visit, the previous exhibit had just ended and they were taking them down to swop for another. The docent shared they have occasional tea sessions where visitors and members are encouraged to dress up in costume reflecting the past and join them to have tea. Pretty fascinating. Overall a very lovely experience. Learned a lot from them too. Recommended!

This museum is an amazing and important piece of Sunnyvale heritage. It is a real tragedy that Sunnyvale chose to demolish the original Murphy House decades ago, and the Sunnyvale Historical Society and the museum team have done a wonderful job of designing the museum as a replica of the original. The museum itself is a wonderful collection of Sunnyvale culture and history. The mural room is a unique display of Sunnyvales history, and the museum team has painstakenly assembled a collection of artifacts from Sunnyvales past into an incredible testament to how Sunnyvale was founded and how it became the city that it is today. Definitely worth a visit.

What an wonderful museum. So many people dont know this place exits but its truly a little gem. Their collection of early South Bay settlement and development is extensive. Upstairs they have an awesome "wall of technology" showing the timeline of development along with real gadgets that are mentioned. Great place to bring my parents next time they come up for a visit.

The history of the Murphy family and Sunnyvale is fascinating. The museum is in a beautiful setting with the heritage orchard outside. Inside are room displays with some of the Murphy family furniture and photographs. I recommend you take a tour with one of the knowledgeable docents to really get the inside scoop on all the history. This museum is a little gem.

Its a quaint place tended by knowledgeable docents. The museum covers local interest with many historical photos of the conversion from agri-economy to high tech tilt-up buildings. It is surrounded by the Heritage Orchard of mostly Blenheim apricots and is still tended by the Olson family who sell the apricots on premise in late spring/early summer.

Amazing museum which I didnt expect to be that professional and informative! Thanks to our guide Martha we got to know a lot about the history of Sunnyvale - very entertaining! I strongly recommend going there, maybe with some visitors. We thought it would take us 30 min to see everything but we stayed for almost 2 hours!

This museum is great for those interested in a little recent history. The tour guides excelled at narrating the walkthrough and were really friendly. The gift shop was great too! Plenty of cool stuff at sweet prices to sift through. Im coming here again one day.

What a great place to bring visitors to show off the history and pride we have in Sunnyvale. I took two friends from Germany who couldnt say enough about how nice they felt the museum was and how impressed they were with it. Jodi
