Im giving three stars because the wine was exactly what they said it was: wines crafted in the Asatian style. Although I have yet to visit Alsace-Lorraine, I will take their word for it. We were not at all pleased with the tasting room staff or service. We were waited on by a young lady who said she was the wine makers sister, but she had NO clue about the wines or how to serve tasters for that matter. My husband paid for a reserve tasting for himself (3 wines) and a regular tasting for me (5 wines). Although he paid more money, she acted like she was doing him a big favor, and actually asked him if he was planning on buying any wine before she would let him taste one of the wines on my list. To top it off, we are part time tasting employees ourselves. We got a 30% industry discount and Tolosa (and usually do get some even small discount everywhere else in the county), but they charged us full price. We graciously support local wineries, are regular consumers and traders of wine with tasting room staff. We bought our first and only three bottles of C &C. If I get a hankering for some dry riesling, I will go out and buy a bottle of Bonny Doone from Monterey County.

My husband and I were just there about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Patty was behind the bar: charming, pleasant and fun to talk to. We absolutely fell for the dry Reisling and dry Gwertztraminer. I am a Sauvingon Blanc drinker and my husband prefers Chardonnays but we both agreed on these 2 and so much so we joined the club. Just received 4 more bottles 2 days ago and just in time. Love this winery. Take some cheese and bread, buy a bottle and sit outside at the winery, its beautiful!!!! Thanks Patty for a great experience.

I love this winery! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and more importantly the wines are amazing! I have been to about 15 wineries in the area and they are by far my favorite! Also, the wines are really affordable! I love the small business feel of the place and think they do an amazing job!

The Claiborne & Churchill Winery is a "must" for visitors to San Luis Obispo. Its located in the Edna Valley about two miles from SLO on Highway 227. Over the years, it has maintained its high quality wine and at an affordable price. The tasting room staff is pleasant and knowledgeable.

Fantastic German style whites (not sweet). Small tasting room, but very friendly and engaging.
