It is a nice and pretty, well maintained private park, that is open to the public,...mostly. The issue I have is that if you appear like, or smell like a homeless person - the propertys private security guards will come out of nowhere, to inform "you" that you are not welcome, and must get off the property asap. Apparently there are several high resolution cameras monitoring the garden park 24/7, to make certain that riffraff do not defile the grounds, and the "nicer / normal" people are not molested or inconvenienced. As a homeless person, I have been coaxed by these friendly guards, several times. I only come to visit to get away from the drug addicts and aggressive individuals that do harass passersby and pedestrians on the neighboring streets. But to be treated like an unwelcomed stray animal. Demonstrates the pretentious double standards of the propertys management. Having experienced first hand this double standard of not being welcome. I am sorry that I can not rate this place with five stars. Obviously this property is backed by serious money, so they can do what ever they want to do with it (just like President Trump), even though the un-neighborly treatment of the wretched of the city is shabby credit for those backers. Perhaps offer those wretches found on the property access to a non gender restroom equipped with a shower. To make themselves clean and decent, and let them go into the grounds, if they cooperate. Those whom refuse could leave or be a problem. The core of the issue, is that there are few to no access to toilet facilities, for the homeless poor. So public deffecating on sidewalks, in alleys, between parked vehicles, is becoming a worsening problem for the citys public works department. Neglecting the problem, is like condoning it until it does get worse.

This is a great park for photography, however there are some homeless people and drug addicts camping out here. The only reason I gave it such a horrible review is because of the security officials hassling me for "looking too professional" with my tripod and camera. I take photos as a hobby, it isnt as if Im selling the photos and I told them that, and they still hassled me and told me to fold up my tripod while some guy behind the artificial waterfall was obviously smoking pot and the security person didnt do anything at all. If you security people is putting more effort to get me out of the park than the drug addicts then there is a big issue here.

I wouldnt go out of my way to see these gardens but if in this side of San Francisco its cool to look up and be surrounded by the big buildings. Its free to the public and a pretty space that sometimes also has art or concets. If youre going to take the cable cars from Market Street head one street over and walk through the garden and maybe get some tea or food at one of the bordering restaurants. Good place for a couple to just relax. Also near the museums. Depending on how relaxing you could spend from 15 minutes to an hour here.

Yerba Buena is a cool place with a LOT going on. there may be free music or theater or a fair, but even when theres not, theres still the mighty Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, restaurants, the museum, the carousel, the art, the Metreon (itself with movie theater, restaurants, stores, etc.), the ice skating rink, the lawn, the playground with awesome slides and other cool stuff, etc. Yerba Buena is a fun gem and very near much else (SFMOMA, Contemporary Jewish Museum, beautiful church, many restaurants, stores, hotels, etc.).

An urban oasis in the middle of San Francisco. While not my favorite green space in the city, its amazing how clean and beautiful the park service keeps this pretty urban garden. Grab a chai from the nearby tea shop or a pastry from a nearby shop and spend an afternoon people watching or taking photos of nearby architecture or public art. Nearby museums and a lot of seating make this a good gathering spot for a museum tour. Dont miss the free weekend festivals and cultural events!

Beautiful gardens! The place is amazing, several pieces of large art to view, lots of them incorporating water, including a monument to Dr. King that allows you to walk behind a water fall. Lots of green space to spread out on and just a nice place to take a break or explore. It is right smack in the middle of the Metreon, Yerba Buena Center, and the Moscone Center, so if you are in town for a conference or event at any of those locations defiantly take a moment to check this out.

Great place to take a break from the buildings of the city and relax. Theres a nice waterfall in the middle that soothes the mind from the hustle and bustle. You can either perch yourself on the green or walk up the stairs and sit on the benches. At the top of the stairs, there are two eateries which you can indulge in if hunger strikes. Also, its right next to the theater and a small food court so either way so you have plenty of options to partake in. Lovely place!

Yerba Buena can get busy, especially on the weekends as it is a venue for many of the citys events. But on a weekday, its nice to sit at the top of the waterfall and hear all the hustle and bustle pass by you. Its located in-between the Metreon, Moscone Center, and SFMOMA. When theres not an event, its a place where you can have a picnic, relax, and even witness a wedding celebration as theres a Catholic church across the street.

One of the few green spaces in SF- especially in FiDi. But, boy is it nice. Lots of grass and soothing water fixtures helps you relax from the fast paced part of SF. Surprisingly (??), not a lot of weed smoked there (unlike other parks) so its fairly kid friendly. One thing to note: There is a statue called the Shaking Man. DO NOT PLAY HIM IN ROCK PAPER SCISSORS- you will lose. (Im pretty sure he is a cheat)
